Not for the faint of heart.

This was not my most favorite book. This version is not very kid friendly as the wolf actual did eat the pigs and then get eaten. I chose this book because it is very well known and it is a story that children enjoy reading. I think that other versions might be a little better and more school appropriate. This book did have neat illustrations though so that is one good thing I got from this particular book.

Fairy Tale:
The Three Little Pigs by Erik Blegvad is the same story as the original version. The 3 pigs set out to build their houses and used straw, sticks, and bricks. The wolf comes and first blows in the straw house and eats the pig. Then he blows in the stick house and eats the pig. Finally, he goes to the house of bricks and can't blow it down. So he tries to trick the pig, but it doesn't work and the pig tricks the wolf. The wolf ends up going down the chimney and the pig eats him for dinner.
I like the illustrations because they are well drawn and very detailed, but I can definitely tell by looking at them that it is an old book. It is not bright and a lot of dark colors are used. The wolf looks mean with vicious teeth, and it looks like a real wolf.
A teacher could read this book alound in a K-2 classroom. I like the newer versions of the story because they are happier and more kid friendly!
