To prepare him for an upcoming feature role, chef and TV show hostess, Ellie Brown, is charged with teaching special guest, soap star, Derek Allen, how to create incredible desserts. Her Friday nights heat up during the live segment on summer desserts, where together they’re supposed to make scrumptious treats from scratch. The problem is, Derek doesn’t know a Dutch oven from a French kiss, and the only recipe Ellie can think of involves a certain hunk covered in sweet creams, who tastes as good as he looks. Not that she’s been licking...the spatula.

Ellie Brown is a TV chef who has been charged with teaching soap star, Derek Allen everything about the fine art of making desserts. Soap star Derek is preparing for an upcoming role where he needs to know all about being a chef. The one thing neither of them counted on was their undeniable attraction to one another. Who can spend one, single TV segment let alone an entire summer on set with each other when you’re thinking about your co-star naked and in one or more compromising positions?

“And he’d lost count of how many times she’d brushed the delicious curves of hers against him. On accident, or deliberately, he wasn’t certain but either way, his body didn’t give a damn.” These types of lines are common throughout the novel which is what makes the book a must-read for those who enjoy steamy erotic romances. This is just one example of how Luke does a good job of showing the characters’ attraction for one another.

This is my first time reading Renee Luke. I definitely would categorize the book as an erotic novel; however, I wasn’t quite sold on the romance part. It seemed that their attraction to one another beyond the bedroom wasn’t as well developed as I thought it should be. So, that part threw me for a bit of a loop, but didn’t deter me from finishing or recommending the book. It shouldn’t stop you from picking this one up either. In the rising age of novellas, it’s refreshing to see a novel with more than 200 pages. The page count is yet another reason that makes this book a bonus because it’s definitely different from what seems to be the growing trend. There were a few grammatical errors throughout the book, but not enough to serve as a distraction to a reader. If you’re looking for an easy, hot read, then this is one you want to add to your collection.

Short sexy novella that captures your heart. Ellie has a talk show, Sweet Spot, where she has a guest host during the summer. At first she couldn't stand Derek but that soon changes. The extra time they spend together so he can learn things around the kitchen for a new movie role may burn them both up.

Luke writes steamy love scenes that are vivid and wild. You will certainly need to have a cold drink nearby as the sexy chapters will make your throat dry. The one draw back were a few editing issues and misspelled words. I'll read more by this author soon.

I didn't really like this book. The story is not interesting and it is kind of stereotypical: the presenter of a talk show on TV who has a crush on a co-host. The female protagonist was simply too annoying and I found it difficult to sympathise with her. About the sex scenes... I found some of them disgusting and tasteless. Since the writing wasn't very good either, I just couldn't like this story.

I am a first time reader of Renee Luke's stories and I am not disappointed! What I like about. what I read is that Renee has the ability to make you feel the chemistry and sex oozing off the pages. I also loved the characters, Ellie and Derrick. Well written story!
