Based on research, the code has been cracked. There is a group of successful independent consultants who no longer struggle with the ups and downs of the revenue roller coaster. This book is a how-to guide that takes the mystery out of business development with pragmatic advice in three money, focus, and marketing. Follow the nine best practices in this trio of activities and you will succeed.
Straightforward, no fluff. Well researched but mostly tactical. Ending was awkward. But a fast read, highly recommend. I will go through it again as a workbook guide.
The authors describe publishing a book as "The Number One Marketing Tool and Strategy." So, with this book, the authors accomplished that goal.
The book also says, "If you can write articles, then you can write a book." And this is really nothing more than a long article. It is is a very quick read. It contains simple, common sense advice that is supposed to help the independent consultant attract high-paying clients. It is not very deep, touching only lightly and quickly on nine tactics.
It's inspirational and full of quotes from famous people and has full-page cartoons and lots of white space, all of which it seems to need to push it to just over 100 pages.
