Covering topics such as stars, planets, moons, alongside the basics of gravity and even how astronauts are able to eat and sleep in space; each page takes us through the complexities of the universe with a fresh and original style. This is a space book that not only teaches young explorers about what is out there but also serves as reminder about just how special we are here on planet Earth.

About the author

Steve Parker is a British science writer known for producing hundreds of children's and adult nonfiction books covering zoology, medicine, evolution, and natural history. Educated at the University of Wales, Bangor, where he earned first class honours in zoology, he later worked at the Natural History Museum and held editorial positions at Dorling Kindersley before becoming a freelance author during the late 1980s. Parker contributed early titles to the acclaimed Eyewitness series and later wrote award-winning books including Science Crazy, Fizzing Physics, The Human Body Book, and Kill or Cure. He has also edited major collaborative works on evolution and medicine, regularly visits schools and libraries, and serves as a Senior Scientific Fellow of the Zoological Society of London.

Wow! Dieses Buch spricht an und zwar direkt. Fast liebevoll stellen sich die wichtigsten Dinge des Weltalls vor. Und genauso behutsam verabschiedet es sich von seinen jungen Lesern. Trotzdem wird klar gemacht, dass es auch Probleme gibt : Weltraumschrott und Meteoriten.

Ich glaube, ich habe schon ewig nichts vergleichbar berührendes gelesen, wie der letzte Abschnitt. (den ich gerne euch zeigen würde, aber die Space Kids sind im Bett und ich will niemanden wecken)

If your child loves anything space, this book is for them! I purchased this book for my two eldest just for them to thumb through if they ever were interested. But that turned into me reading this book to them ever night for over a year!
