The second novel in this series moves the plot along nicely. It concentrates more on character development rather than suspense although there is a bit of suspense near the end. We see Haven experiencing some healing of her trauma and even considering the possibility of entering into a romantic relationship.
I am finding Haven to be a woman with whom I can't connect. She continues to do dumb things. For example, when her car breaks down and her phone is dead (a dead cell phone is a way overused suspense instigator), Haven decides to walk six miles home rather than the few hundred feet to a hospital and sure aid. She remains too naive for my taste.
The strength of the novel revolves around how characters deal with anger toward God because of past tragedy. We see good examples of growth in healing and trusting God for the future.
I look forward to reading the final book in the series as the villain is still in the picture.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

So engaging!
I liked Haven's Flight (the first novel in this series), and I liked this one even more! As Haven tries to move on with her life and education, she dreads the evil she senses watching, waiting for her to be just vulnerable enough. As she tries to flee, that same evil stubbornly and gleefully dogs her steps. Although there were a few details or character issues I might wish were better developed, Mrs. Netherton has written an engrossing novel of suspense. I really can't wait for more from her pen.

'Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction' Romans 12:12
The second book did not disappoint. Haven moves on with her life, graduating from college and beginning to work in children's music ministry far from danger, they hope. As her faith grows, so does her trust in others allowing her to finally someone about the kidnapping. Even with all the secrecy, protection and police knowledge, the story takes a sharp left turn! You won't want to put this one aside until the conclusion is reached.
I received an ARC through Write Integrity Press and CelebrateLit. All impressions and opinions are my own.

Haunting!
I was hooked from the astonishing first line. The scenes were so vivid that I saw, heard, and felt what the characters experienced. The characters themselves were real and relatable. I was wrapped up in the story, wanting to protect Haven and wondering what would happen to her. Great, haunting read for any suspense lover!

If you love romantic suspense, Haven’s Hope is a must read. It’s a definite page turner that will keep you up well into the night. If you didn’t read the first in The Hunted Series, Haven’s Flight, I highly recommend that you do!

Great read - I didn't want to put it down! Sometimes being book 2 in a 3 book series means it is less interesting or just a filler. But not in this case! The story was engaging from start to finish and could stand alone [but you will want to read all three].
