There are many many things that happen on a farm, animals to feed, a house to keep clean, a barn to keep clean. Nancy Fielding Hulick does an excellent job telling about what happens on a farm.
A Day on the Farm, Nancy Hulick Cute, but also it hasn't aged well. ** "The pig likes to have his back scratched with a stick. 'Oink, oink,' he grunts. He us very pleased. When he has finished his chores, Farmer Brown walks back to the farmhouse. Mrs Brown cooks eggs and bacon and pancakes for breakfast." *happy pig -> bacon strips
Love the way the narrator pronounces each word. I think it is especially important when dealing with children. This is a short book and a fun one with enough of a story to keep the little one's asking to hear it again. I think that were I a parent I would have bought the accompanying Kindle book and have the children follow along with the story. All in all, a really age appropriate book.
A cute little book. We have two copies. One says it is the Fifth Printing, 1975, and cost us 49 cents. The other was 89 cents and indicates by letters that it is the Thirteenth Printing, but does not give the year. Neither one has an ISBN number.
Love this little books. My children loved it especially about the baby chicks. We moved to the farm when our boys were ages 2, 3 and 4. We ordered 100 baby chicks, they had so much fun helping us take care of them.
A Little Golden Book from my youth, re-read as an adult. More or less what the title indicates, though perhaps a little idealistic in its view of rural life--as one might expect.
This is a wonderful story to help teach children about life on the farm... what parents do and what the children do... the work and the fun of living on a farm.
