"Don't find yourself at the end of your life saying: "What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner.."
This is a nice little nifty book. A reminder of all the things that you should tell yourself in every aspect of life. It is small in content yeah, but the words are of high value and I don't think they should be read once. This is a fairly well crafted simple guide.
"Many people who fail did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up".
I suppose many would argue that a lot of the things that are mentioned are well known and widely spread. I would probably agree, but at the same time it is highly important for me as well to have something that would organize my thoughts and place them in the right direction.
"You can't be common. The common goes nowhere"
The way the book is designed is appealing to the eye and pretty easy to get into. You don't have long redundant paragraphs. Sentences are created short, simple and straight to the point. Little quotes are imbedded here and there by famous people who knew exactly what success & achievements are all about.
"The pursuit of excellence is gratifying and healthy; the pursuit of perfection is frustrating, unproductive and a horrible waste of time".
The book provides some insights as well on how to take advantage of opportunities and not let them go to waste. It is fairly important to give some thought on any subject no matter how little it may seem.
"Remember, the moment you say "I give up", someone else is seeing the same situation and saying, "My, what a great opportunity.."
There are 52 Nuggets of wisdom in this book. My favorite one was definitely number: 19: Stay Out Of Your Own Way.
"Talk back to your internal critic".
Why not give this little book a try? It's around 100 pages and it's pretty suitable before a good night sleep.
A Self help motivational book. John Mason has provided valuable ideas and facts which will help us to lead in the pathway of fulfilling our dreams. The 52 nuggets in the book describes practical principles, motivation and godly wisdom which will take us in the verge of discovering new momentum in life. It's just that "GO FROM WHERE YOU ARE TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE"!
If you are a fellow procrastinator like me or have any fears or baggage that is preventing you from chasing your dreams, this book will be of great help! I have never read a self-help book, other than the Bible, that has such powerful quotes and phrases that require constant underlining, reciting and sharing. Each chapter is a nugget of encouragement to keep you going to ensure that your dreams and goals in life actually get realized.
Reading a chapter from any of John Mason's books is a great addition to the morning routine. It challenges mediocrity in me, gives me ideas, encouragement and inspiration. I have made it a practice to re-read John's books every few years as a part of regular self-maintenance - it is like an oil change for a car.
This book is filled with motivational quotes from several people more than the author's own ideas. It would have been better if he had expanded more on his thoughts, probably add more of his own experience.
I can not help it with inspirational books!!! My friend recommended this book as being the best but for me it's the worst !!! it inspired me nothing but boredom !!!
Overall a good book for beginners and worth to take out time and read. Last part, looking upward, is a let down as I don't expect a book intended to help entrepreneurs, motivating for prayers and religious believes.
