This is a book of Christmas carols accompanied by prints of beautiful fine art, most from before 1800.

The art: the art is to die for. It is perfectly beautiful and the paintings are chosen well to suit the carols they appear opposite.

The music: Carols are carols. But the musical arrangements are a little . . . weird. They almost sound like someone wrote down the notes but never played them over. Although I appreciate that they are simple and easy to play, the harmonies in places are just wrong,

Can't speak for the musical arrangements, but the art is beautiful, and it's fun to have a compilation of carols around for the season.
