This new six-week Companions in Christ study challenges Christians from the viewpoint of a white South African pastor who has lived through the political changes in that country and experienced with rare vulnerability the spiritual struggles inherent in the processes of truth-telling, reconciliation, deep pain, and poverty. Trevor Hudson brings a message of vital, transforming spirituality through knowing who we are, changing from the inside out, listening to the groans of others, and discovering the deep spirituality of belonging.
My Sunday evening small group did this book together and it turned out to be better experience than I expected. Having done the original Companions in Christ, I wasn't sure this would measure up. The first book was led by a very passionate minister, this was all lay people. Here it comes, but The group meeting exercises really made the reading and journaling come to life! Love when that happens. The book is more of an experience than just a good read.
