The Wolf Strain collects three short stories in the western genre, set near the mountains. They are similar to Jack London in featuring human and animal characters who are in the grey area between civilized and wild. A common theme is the importance of keeping faith with one's friends. They're enjoyable outdoor-adventure stories.
