Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A year ago I got to know the amazingly sweet author Petra Landon. I read her book and I was hooked and have been in contact with her ever since. The first book in this series is The Prophecy which you should read, because after that you're able to read The Rainmaker. This second book is even better than the first and I'm almost sure you'll fall in love with the characters.

Full disclosure, I was provided a copy of this book by the author, however, have voluntarily chosen to write a review. All opinions are my own.

In search of the Sisters

The Rainmaker is the second in the Saga of the Chosen books by Petra Landon and continues the story of Tasia, Sienna, Jason and the Northern California Shifter Pack. Now that the threat to Tasia is seemingly eliminated, the focus turns to Sienna and the mysterious locket that she wears. Having tried everything to rid herself of thi

The Rainmaker continues right where The Prophecy leaves off and takes us right back to the urban fantasy with “Chosen” hiding in plain sight. I thought the first book in this series was fantastic and Petra Landon did not disappoint in this second installment, in fact I think this book is even better.

First off Petra is amazing with character development, she has an uncanny ability to add great depth to each character that draws you in. You fall in love with the characters either for the good in t

First, let me say I am thrilled that the one glitch in the first installment of this series has been eliminated!! The story of Tasia, Raoul and the rest takes off right where we left off, continuing a journey that is expertly created and penned! It is a huge book by today’s standards (clocking in at over 600 pages!) But, what really amazed me was that it is so engrossing that I actually was thrilled with the length! Never once did I get bored and wished the ending would just come already. THAT, ...more

Ms. Landon provided me a complimentary copy of this book, which I am so grateful for!

I loved getting to know a lot of the characters better in this story as well as the action, which continued revealing new things about them. There's this whole prophecy (could you guess?)/conspiracy that everyone is trying desperately to unfold, hopefully in time to save their world.

My new addiction...

This is the second book in this enthralling Prophecy paranormal series; this is a wonderfully constructed story with so many strands; each a separate tale and yet inextricably tied together heading towards some future and, as yet, unknown entwined destiny...

There are romantic undertones within the storyline and there is more than one couple that deserve a happy ever after; the characters are believable and attractive with a magnificent and gifted strong hero and heroine at the

The Rainmaker is the second book in the Saga of the Chosen and it picks up where the story ended in Prophecy.

As we learned from the first books there are four diverse groups of magical/supernatural (Chosen) creatures who distrust each other and each group sticks to their own clique. Shifters live as a pack and their loyalty to each other is synonymous with their obedience to the Alpha, and their Alpha protector. The wizards/witches have registries in every major city that handle the witches and

The Rainmaker is the second book in the Saga of the Chosen series. It picks up from where the first book ended. The story started out slow and gradually picked up the pace as the events unfolded, but do not let this discourage you because it will be worth it in the end. The slow start was necessary to prepare for the events, which were on the verge of unfolding.

The focus of this installment was on character development and setting the pace for future events. There was not a lot of action, but wh

I received this novel from the author as an ARC. Thank you!!

This novel was amazing!! I could not put it down!! This is great sequel to the first novel in the series, which you need to read before reading this novel. Ms. Landon weaves an incredible plot, and brings it all together, leaving you craving for more. She brings her plot together, but leaves you with more questions about what will happen next!!

The Rainmaker by Petra Landon is the second installment to this exciting paranormal fantasy series. Here, three sisters are crucial to fulfill a prophecy that none of them really know about...their mother is using them to create the prophecy foretold. Chaos, danger, and risks are involved on both sides. War seems inevitable seeing as one woman wants to destroy would be alliances among different beings as well as use certain sides for her own agendas.

The Rainmaker is the second book in the Saga of the Chosen series. This urban fantasy focuses on Tasia. She has been living in hiding and has to decide how much she wants to let on. Raoul is also still in the picture and is very much involved in the rescue missions.

Tasia’s power was the highlight of the storyline. Her abilities were unique and very interesting to read. The relationship between Raoul and Tasia was another intriguing endeavor. The underline of the story was tenderly embedded with

Yes! Yes, you should read this book! The series is amazing, intense, powerful, unpredictable, and strongly emotional all at the same time. It has everything I could want from a book, and has me so involved with the characters it gripped me emotionally and I'm still thinking about it the next day. Rarely does a book have the depth and character development than this one did. If you can't tell, I absolutely am in love with the Saga of the Chosen series.

Be prepared to stay up all night because you aren't going to want to put this book down! For better or worse, Tasia is part of the Pack and the political intrigue achieves new heights as alliances are formed, gauntlets are thrown down, and members of the Pack speculate on which Pack member Tasia is going to bond with. The Rainmaker is the second book in the Saga of the Chosen, of a planned four book series that delves into the world of the Chosen, the hidden group amongst us who possess the ancient powers of magic. This is the third Petra Landon book I’ve been fortunate enough to read and every one improves on the last. This truly is the best part of being a reviewer; watching indie authors find their niche, whilst growing and developing, as writers, w

I voluntarily received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.  The Rainmaker picks up almost immediately where The Prophecy left off, so this is not a standalone book and needs to be read in order.

Once again I found it helpful to read this on a Kindle with a built-in dictionary, bulwark, limpidly, opprobrium are not words I come across every day and like book one, there is liberal use of the thesaurus.

I started to see a pattern that made the book inordinately long, a key plot point would hap

Petra Landon strikes again; I loved the book basically as much as the first. It met all my expectations. The series is pretty much turning into an epic urban fantasy (with a really great romance subplot).

Each book feels like several books in one; The plotlines for both books are packed with action, adventure and alot of danger. Especially for Talia as she struggles to keep her secrets hidden. As this book takes place directly after the last, you learn more

Petra Landon once again wisks us away to a world you never want to leave. The Rainmaker has all my favorite things that make up Urban Fantasy. A world within ours, fantastical beings, and a hint of wonder. Petra's writing makes me wonder if this world could really exist out there without us knowing. I have been looking forward to The Rainmaker since I finished The Prophecy. I wasn't let down. Tasia has so many secrets and I wonder if we will ever find out all of them. In this book more of her pa ...more

Outstanding sequel to The Prophecy, this book will answer some question and open up new ones as the group continues to investigate the prophecy and Lady Bethesda. Relationships are growing, slowly as this story progresses. The strong alpha Raoul, continues to protect Tasha as their feelings slowly grow. More characters are introduced in this book as well as a few subplots that will, I am certain, at some point all intersect into bringing this story to it's conclusion.

I loved book one and the next one, the rainmaker does not disappoint.
In the second book we get to meet more characters. I don't know how the author remembers them all but I am glad to say that I did not get confused with all the new and old characters.
The slow burn romance heats up (just kissing) but something is keeping them apart.
There are a lot of twist and turns and I have to admit that at first I did not know where the story was heading but I started to put the clues together and I have an

Tasia's journey seems to be becoming a bit more convoluted as new characters and truths are revealed
The Prophecy looms heavily over the characters and time is not on their side
Many of the secrets and unknowns from book one are revealed - Some I never saw coming and others left me gripping my kindle in suspense and releasing the occasional shout of "NO" or the breathless "OMG"
Many new breadcrumb trails were also neatly laid out before me just adding to the chaos

Book 2 draws us more in to the mystery surrounding the Prophesy and Tasia herself. I was happy to find that some of my favorite characters, Tasia, Raoul, Hawk and of course Duncan are back. There are also some wonderful new characters in this book and the complexity of Landon's world continues to unfold. She crosses geographies and cultures that are familiar to us and overlays them with a world of mages and shape shifters that have their own geographies, cultures and hierarchies.

I LOVE this series!! The only problem I have is that it has a hell of a cliff hanger. Did not bother me when I finished the first one; because the second one was out. The third is not out so I am dying for the next book. Dying is a real problem and the struggle is real. I am putting the huge nag to the author to get the next book out like yesterday. LOL

So this is the 2nd book in the Saga of the Chose and I have to say I enjoyed it as much as the first book, but I am sad there's no 3rd book. I know, I know, it takes time to write a book, but I just didn't want to put this book down so I stayed up late, finishing this book, knowing that there's no 3rd book yet, it's kind of insane to do that. So in summary the story stays strong, I still love all the characters and all the new characters, they are parts that can be trimmed here and the

I’d give this a 4 star for this genre/type, but there is 50% more book than necessary so dropped it down. A lot of introspection and reexplaining why things are a certain way is a bit of a stumbling block for maximum enjoyment. When your kindle says 15 hours to complete - it’s not an error.
