Oh wow!! What an absolute amazing mermaid reverse harem fantasy! I have a thing for books about mermaids, and this book did not disappoint. I look forward to the next book in the series!

Short review:
Coral is set for an arranged marriage with her childhood friend Kai in order to secure his grandfather's reign and her kingdom. She is a princess and whoever she marries becomes the king of merfolks. But at the last moment, she gets cold feet, escapes to surface and caught by sea storm, ends up in deserted island. Two days later, while she adjusts to her legs than tail, notices a sinking ship and saves all 4 men from a drowning boat.

I love the story line of a mermaid princess that wants to choose her own life meeting 4 humans that are stranded. The author added a little twist on mermaids that I haven't seen in other books so I enjoyed that. The characters were fun and I enjoyed the little jokes included, especially the Dungeons & Dragons one. My husband plays that every week so I had to use the joke on him. LOL! Overall a fun story that felt fresh and unique. I would love to read more of this series. ...more

Ever since I first heard of this book I knew I wanted to read it. A reverse harem mermaid romance book just sounded so fun. I like mermaid stories, but it can be hard to find ones that really appeal to me. And after I read one of this author's books last week I was even more excited about this one. The Mermaid's Escape was a great read and I am already looking forward to book 2.

Spoiler Free Review: A Great Reverse Harem.

I’m sure that this is going to pop up in a lot of reviews, but I have to say it anyway. This is a reverse harem y’all. A reverse harem. Meaning, you get one girl and several very eligible bachelors to pick from. The difference between the usual love triangle trope is that she doesn’t have to pick one and stick with him. The girl’s free to pick whoever she wants whenever she wants! No drama.
Now let’s review the book.

Honestly, this didn’t turn out the wa

Coral's mother left her behind to go live with the humans and Coral was raised by her strict grandfather, the King. On the day of her forced unwanted mating, Coral can't take it anymore and escapes to spend her 5 days walking among man like most mermaids gets the chance to. She just wanted a taste of freedom, a chance to experience the world before returning to take her place as the ruler of her people. Little did she expect to find a

The Mermaids Escape by Kellie McAllen a five-star read you will not want to escape from. I am a fan of the authors work but had so far only read her young adult romance series and this is the first book in the Siren Series and this is the reverse harem paranormal romance so very different to the other series but equally just as good and definitely more adult. This is a unique story, although it’s a tale about mermaids it’s not the main point of the story, Coral is a great character and watching ...more

Am I reading the same book as everyone else? This has to be one of the cringiest books I've ever read (in a bad way) from the writing, to the plot, to the dialogue... I don't even know who I want Coral to end up with because there was barely any character development. I'll read the second book to see what happens next. Even though I'm not enjoying the story, I am one who likes to try and finish series to get the whole story and my final opinion. ...more

I have reviewed this book before as a part of the Sirens and Scales Box Set, but now it is being released as an individual novel! I am so excited to have been able to re-read it, and I can't wait for book 2!

Coral is a princess of her grandfather's kingdom. Her parents have passed away, and she is meant to marry her friend Kai. She wants to look forward to her marriage, but she knows that Kai will never love her because he is in love with her best friend Meribel. On her wedding day, she runs away

A mythical read!

Four sexy, shipwrecked divers...
One mermaid princess running from her destiny...
And a curse that threatens to destroy her only chance at the life she wants...

So, normally I keep notes so I can write my reviews but this time, I got so engrossed in this story that I forgot about it and all my responsibilities. Of course, now I do not know what to say because this book was, simply put, breathtaking.

A fresh take on the mermaid tale with a reverse harem twist. Absolutely adored it!

Reverse Harem with a mermaid princess.
And that cover is AMAZING!!!!
So pretty.

Coral runs away on her wedding day and winds up on an island. Couple of days pass and during a storm a ship wreck stranding 4 men with her.
All very different but all very attracted to her.
Months go by and finally they are rescued.
By some not great dudes.

I am surprised by how much I enjoyed this story, it captured my interest from the start and kept it all the way through. I loved how Coral tries to communicate with the guys and them her, I love how they slowly discover things about each other. The writer made me smile and made me feel good while I was reading the story. It is sweet and romantic with excitement and some drama and danger

This book is great! It’s exciting, unpredictable and just so much fun to read! The characters are all interesting and the mermaid lore is fascinating. I love the way it often feels like a Little Mermaid retelling for adults. My only issue is that book two isn’t out yet.

This is my first mermaid PNR and I just couldn't get into the story. I felt like the plot was a big reverse-harem rip-off on the Little Mermaid. Sorry to the fans.
The Mermaid's Escape is a beautifully done reverse harem novel that is a twist on the Little Mermaid. Coral has lived her entire life under the ocean. She has been told that her grandfather had a powerful sea witch put a curse on their shoal. So that if any dared to go to the surface and the human world that they would only be able to survive for 5 days before they'd have to return or die. Coral longs to see what life is like above the water, but she fears the curse. However, the time of her imp ...more

This was a fun read. I liked all of the characters, though the guys felt very stereotypical for their character types. Like Liam was supposed to be a college grad, so pretty much everything he talked about was research in some way or another, or very detailed, Jude was the typical country party boy, while Avery was a hairdresser with all of the effeminate style we associate with the type, and Gio was Italian (need I say more? There were lots of mentions of spaghetti and pasta). But with the ster ...more

The Mermaid's Escape – Book 1 of the Siren Series, by Kellie McAllen

This book is a reverse harem book, you'll see that in several reviews, which is instead of a guy with multiple ladies, we have a gal with multiple guys. Sounds like it might be interesting right?

The relationships between Coral and the guys was so tastefully done that the whole reverse harem was a non-factor thing for me. The love scene(s) were well written and not even a hint of erotica … actually they were pretty PG-17.

The Mermaid’s Escape by Kellie McAllen is the first Reverse Harem story that I have read, and I must say....I really enjoyed it! I found Kellie’s mermaid tale original and exciting with a storyline that flawlessly sucked me in.

It is the story of Coral, the mermaid princess who escapes her prearranged undersea wedding to a childhood friend who doesn’t love her. During her escape she save the lives of four men whose ship is sinking. Coral and the four men; Liam the brains, Gio the brawn, Avery th

I do not know what it is about Kellie McAllens books but I can not put them down. They suck you in so quickly that they easily become a one day read.

I have never read a reverse harem novel before so I was a little hesitant going into this but I loved it.

Coral is a mermaid trying to escape a life of obligation to her royal heritage. Forced to marry a man she does not love she seeks an escape and end up in a storm which washes her up on an island. This storm also causes Gio, Jude, Avery, and Liam

So I went into this book with meh expectations. I am not the greatest fan of mermaid focused books. But I love reverse harem romance and I love some of Kellie McAllen's other books so I thought I could give this a chance! I came out of this book very surprised! I did not love it but I definitely thought it was better than I expected it to be!

A HFN ending that leaves you wanting more!

This book offers a fresh perspective of a mermaid, Coral, who chooses to go up on land (yes, it’s possible in this series) with four shipwrecked men. She struggles to communicate with them, but she can understand what they are thinking in their minds using something like telepathy. This book is fresh, fun, and interesting. Coral longs for a different life, not unlike many of us and she is able to change her life by choosing to go onto land. The four trea

This is the 1st mermaid Reverse Harem I’ve read and I tell you what it’s absolutely fantastic. Coral panics on her wedding day and escapes to the surface, she saves 4 men from a sinking ship and she takes them to the nearest island. Coral can only last 5 days out of the water but she wants to know about the human world, the 4 sailor’s Gio, Jude, Avery and Liam try to teach Coral english and she falls for them just like her mother had loved a human. There’s trials and tribulations that these 5 go ...more

Let me start by saying this is not typically the type of story I read. I read it because I've read other books by Kellie McAllen and really enjoy her writing. She came through brilliantly with The Mermaid's Escape.

I felt sorry for Coral. She had everything she could ever want except freedom to be true to herself. She lived in a gilded cage with her entire life planned out for her. By escaping she learned who she really was and what she truly wanted in life. The guys were a smorgasbord of choice
