The sequel to War-Gamers' World, and even better. I really thought this was just a good sword and sorcery story.

I wish I could give 1/2 stars, as it really wasn't all that basd. You definitely needed to read the fiorst book (War-gamers World) to mak any sense of it, though. At 150 pages, I went through it in a couple of hours, so not too heavy. Some really interesting use of illusions in the plot, interesting villains, and clever tactics used by the protagonists lent no little excitement. I'm still unclear whether this is a real gaming setting or merely part of the plot, Magira being the geographical equivalent of the Necronomicon, or the like (Kids, it ain't real, dont try to buy it). The character names needed more work (Too many Mr "Ts"), and its hard to get a really deep feel for the local cultures, but as I said, it does a lot in a short space. Makes me want to visit again, in the 3rd book.
