This was a wonderful look inside the life of Sam S Stoltzfuz, I felt like I was sitting in my living room listening to his life story unfold as if he was right there beside me talking. I learned things I did not know which is always a plus. Sam solidified for me the solid faith and steadfast commitment to God, Community, and family the Amish really believe In. I found myself smiling at times at a young boys antics, and then amazed at the knowledge the Amish really have with the raising of a Barn. This is a great book, pick it up and read it, I’m sure you’ll like it as well.

This is a quaint story from the perspective of a grandfather. It is simple and easy to read and gives the reader an introduction to what it was like for this author growing up and living Amish. It is by far only a simple intro to this life style and certainly not a complete story of the Amish way. It is cute and similar to listening to an older family member speak of growing up and what it’s like for them today.
