How to regain control when alcohol is taking over your life
Statistics show that misuse of alcohol is a very common problem. Using alcohol unwisely can have long-term effects on your health, career and family life. This self-help book helps you take a healthier approach to drinking.
Using methods based on real clinical practice and proven cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, this revised and updated edition shows you how to regain control of your alcohol consumption.
A very readable, non-esoteric, and practical book with advice on how to stop substance abuse and in particular on misusing alcohol. It contains also exercises and can be used as a self-help book for people who want to reduce unhealthy alcohol consumption and are not (heavily) addicted, yet. I liked, in particular, to understand better some of the vicious cycles, which makes it difficult to reduce alcohol consumption in the first place and might lead to addiction in the long term, and also the advice and ideas on how these vicious cycles can be broken. The biochemical aspects are also not excluded, but discussed in a level that laymen can follow.
