This isn't the first book which I have read by author Píaras Ó Cíonnaoíth. This was another excellent book and you can tell by the way in which it was written that the author puts 100% of their thought and effort into every word. Loved it!

When are we too old to read bedtime stories? My answer is: Never. As long we keep our inner-child alive. How often do we read bedtime stories to our children or grandchildren? With the progress of the technology nowadays and the lack of time I am afraid that too many children fall asleep in front of the TV or playing a computer game instead of reading or being read some pleasant story.

In this collection of bedtime stories and poems, the author has succeeded in giving the readers, both young and
“Storytelling is fun,” and this author’s collection of stories and poetry, spanning over forty years and including stories and poems written “as a youngster,” is certainly fun. As Gaston Bachelard says in the introduction, “So, like a forgotten fire, a childhood can always flare up again within us.”

Stories of dogs… need no illustrations. Smooth text draws the images in the child’s mind (and the parent’s). And smoothly written adventures draw the child into the mind of a puppy, so easily distract

With a handful of stories and poems, Mr. O Cionnaoith reminded me of my childhood days; of time spent outside with cousins, friends, and neighborhood kids; of learning and exploring and wondering; of letting my imagination fly and creating worlds that no one could see but us kids.

Mr. O Cionnaoith is a new to me author. He's the first children's book author I've reviewed, and I'm honored that he asked if I would. This collection speaks to the inner-child in me, and beckoned my five year old to le

A collection of five delightful stories to read to your child at bedtime. The stories are long enough that each could be spaced out over several evenings, creating a sense of anticipation and expectation. The featured protagonists are a puppy too smart for her own good; a goat and a dog who become friends despite their profound character differences; young children dealing with the stress of moving to a different town and having to make new friends; and a brave young boy who takes huge risks to ...more

Having read/reviewed another book by this author [Peace Night Poetry], my inner-child wanted to read something else written by him.

Like I wrote in that review:
“I don’t what it is about children and reading books which happen to rhyme but books which do happen to be quite enticing to its young readers…”

In this outing the author has once again succeeded in giving his readers, both young and old, an inviting, beautifully constructed collection of short stories and stories in rhyme. “Magical Bedtime

Great collection of children's bedtime stories that speak to children about friendship and childhood fears. The book spoke to my inner child and made me wish that it had been available when my children were growing up.

It was a great choice on the author's part to pair it with a short collection of easy to read poems.

I received a copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
