Pout-Pout Fish is very unfriendly at the beginning of this short story; however, at the end when he realizes he cannot do everything alone- he realize that family and friend are there when you need then most.

When Pout-Pout Fish wants to make a picture for his friends, he insists he will do it on his own and shoos his friends away when they offer to help. He works hard, but his picture isn’t coming out right. Will Pout-Pout Fish accept help and create the picture he imagined?

This Level 1 easy reader will appeal to children learning how to read and to those who might be familiar with the character from the very popular picture book series. As is in most easy readers, the plot is a simple premise about when to accept help. The illustrations are based on the original ones by Dan Hanna for the picture books, but are not necessarily drawn by him for this book specifically. However, they are still the bright and beautiful picture interpretations of the story that made the picture books so popular. This edition is the paperback version; which makes it an affordable, but a less sturdy choice for school or public libraries.

I would recommend this book for purchase by any school or public library.
