I really enjoyed this collection of plays by Athol Fugard. I am intensely aware of the racial situation in South Africa currently, though I was only born the year and month Fugard's Master Harold ... and the Boys was first shown in South Africa. The plays struck a real chord with me, because I really wish people could just get along!

My favourite play of the collection must be Master Harold, probably because it was such a personal story for Fugard. However, Blood Knot was also an interesting rend

Harold Athol Lannigan Fugard (b. June 11, 1932, Middelburg, South Africa), better known as Athol Fugard, is a South African playwright, actor, and director. His wife, Sheila Fugard, and their daughter, Lisa Fugard, are also writers.
