Bayou Devils MC #3

Every Breath You Take

Rate this book
LincolnWhen I was fifteen, my father died suddenly and just like that, I became the man of the house. The burden of caring for my mother and little sisters fell on my shoulders. Ever since then, I’ve been a rock, a port in the storm for the people I love, there for them whenever they need me. But the pressure of my responsibilities has taken its toll and I’m drowning under the weight of it all. When the President of my MC pulls me aside and asks me to watch over Tatum Carter while keeping my distance from her, it seems like a simple chore. One that will give me a temporary reprieve from the pressure of my life. And then I saw her. All it took was one glimpse and I knew staying away from her was going to be impossible.TatumLife made me a fighter. Every hardship and obstacle I’ve endured strengthened my perseverance. Yet nothing prepared me for the unexpected death of my mother. My world was shattered, leaving me struggling to keep my head above water. And then Lincoln appeared. Sure, the first time I met him, I thought he was an unbelievable jerk but even then, there was just something about him that called to me. The second time we bumped into each other, it felt like something I shouldn’t ignore. Our connection was like a force of nature and I couldn’t help getting swept up in it.That’s when the phone calls began. Mysterious messages and cryptic packages on my doorstep hinted that I never truly knew my mother. I turn to Lincoln for help but as we face down the ghosts of my mother’s past, I fear what we find may steal the only serenity Lincoln and I have ever known.

A.M. Myers lives in Cody, Wyoming – a little town about an hour away from Yellowstone National Park – with her husband and their two boys. She has been writing for most of her life and even had a poem nationally published in the sixth grade but the idea of writing an entire book always seemed so daunting until a certain story got stuck in her head and wouldn’t leave her alone until she started typing. Now, she can’t imagine a time when she won’t be letting all of the stories in her head spill out onto paper.
A.M. Myers writes emotional, gripping romantic suspense novels that will leave you swooning and hanging off the edge of your seat from start until finish. When she is not writing, you can usually find her up in the mountains with her boys, camping, fishing and taking photos of the beautiful landscape she is lucky enough to call home.

Warning there is rape on-page in this book. I'm pretty pissed that not one other review I read mentioned it. I also feel it wasn't necessary to the story. For that reason this book which was on the way to being 5 star, for me is a 3.

You're probably wondering why I'm even giving it a 3, everything else in the story worked. I loved both MCs. Tate is that rare bad-ass chick who isn't a bitch and Lincoln (Kodiak) is imperfect but true in his love for her. I simply loved their story (until above-mentioned trigger). I feel conflicted, I am over all liking this series but am uncertain about continuing.

Its taking me awhile to write my review for this book. I went back and read the previous books of this series, just to get familiar with them again. Lincoln(Kodiak) goes through some tough times, and it is terrible. I just feel so much for him. He endured tragedy after tragedy and just is such a strong guy. You can't help but to feel so much love for him. Tatum is such a strong character. She is amazing, independent, fierce, funny, I loved her character a lot.

This was a really really good book. It was suspenseful, I was sucked into it, and couldn't put it down. It definitely kept me on my toes. Steamy, sweet, loved the supporting characters. Definitely recommend. Could be read as a standalone, but it would be nice to familiarize yourself with other characters that are also mentioned in the book.

Every Breath You Take by A.M. Myers is part of the Bayou Devils MC where we are introduced to Tatum Carter and Lincoln Archer.
Full Disclosure: This is the first book that I’ve read by this author. But I don’t think it’ll be the last one. I was very impressed with the writing style and world development. Even though it’s not the 1st book in the series, it was pretty easy to follow along. I was tempted to go back and read the previous books, but decided against it.
Tatum Carter is a strong fighter. Always pushes through when she needs to. Unfortunately for her, her mother passed away in a car accident and she’s had problems dealing with this.
Then you have Lincoln Archer – who had to grow up fast and hard in order to take care of his family. I absolutely loved his character.
I loved the way that the characters were written, with flaws and all. They were indeed perfect for each other. Obviously, in order to get the good and happy, you have to fight and struggle if you deem it worth it. Thankfully, that was the case with both of these characters and the book itself. Again, I was impressed with the way in which the author brought everything together. Definitely enjoyed it, and I consider this a 5 Star Book!

My heart was crushed when I ended book 2 from this series.
That book stole my heart and I was eager to date a new book to see if my mood improved.
A.M. Myers has this amazing series that you guys must-read.
Her writing is raw and wild, sweet and intense, real and hot.
Give her a chance.
Every Breath You Take is the third book from the Bayou Devils MC series and explores the lives of Tatum and Lincoln.
Lincoln aka Kodiak is one of the brothers from the Bayou Devils MC.
He had a tough after the death of his father. Since he was the man of the house, he needed to take care of his mother and both sisters.
When he's given the task to follow Tatum...
Tatum is a warrior. Her life hasn't been easy but she had overcome every obstacle that crossed her path. When her mother is killed in a car crash she starts to struggle to keep up.
Things start to happen and she can't keep up or even comprehend what the hell is happening.
When her path crosses with Lincoln...
OMG... My heart is about to burst...
What a book... I'm still shaking from the intensity of the story.
Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and dark.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it.
Things were happening and the need to know more was overwhelming that I saw myself reading nonstop.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, stubborn much? But then, there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
These two were made for each other and their chemistry was off the charts.
You can feel the love they shared and I loved every single scene.
There were some brutal scenes that left me shaking, I wasn't expecting that, but it all worked perfectly.
I loved this book and I can't wait wait to have more news from them.
It was amazing to keep having news from the main characters from the first two books.
And guys... Hot stuff alert... Dayum... Hot.
Great book A. M.  Can't wait to start book 4.

Great story

This was book three in the Bayou Devils mc series . Lincoln and Tates relationship was one that started out on deceitfulness but not in a cruel way. Lincoln was tasked to watch Tate but little did he know how much she would come to mean to him in such a short amount of time. but the longer they were together the harder it was to tell her the truth. But like all things in life secrets come to light and Tatum is heart broken as Lincoln is the first man she has let in on her entire life.
Tatum and her twin brother Theo soon discover some secret's of their own when their mother dies and they soon find they never knew her at all . There was lots of twists and turns in this book that kept me on the edge and I certainly didn't see the end coming the way it did. Which is what I like about a good book that the plot has been thought out so meticulously there is no holes on the story. I really enjoyed this book and found that both Tatum and Lincoln's characters were well written.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: heroine in peril; deception
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

Another fantastically suspenseful tale in the Bayou Devils series by AM Myers. Again, Ms. Myers has my emotions all over the place from laughing out loud to tears. This heroine was truly the craziest I've ever read and I was totally here for it, lol. The push and pull between them was fantastic. Please read and head trigger warnings if you're A sensitive reader.

Problematic is the nicest word I can find for my frustration with this book. If you don't want spoilers, stop reading this review now.

The first two books in this series were entertaining. I gave them each 3 stars because, while they were good, they didn't make me think, "wow." Despite this third book having a kick-ass heroine, it has me teetering between one and two stars. Oh ... where do I start?

The bikers used to be into illegal activities and have reformed the club to focus on a motorcycle shop, a private investigations business, and a humanitarian project of helping women escape abusive relationships. Yet, these men don't seem very tough or intuitive. Tate tased them, and outsmarted them, and they were absolutely clueless about who was the threat. They have camera equipment and know how to use technology, but they aren't very analytical. Apparently no one watching all those cameras in Tate's house ever saw her reacting to the phone calls. Obviously they hadn't learned anything from Alison's experience with Chris the stalker earlier in the series.

The abused woman they were guarding had a stalker with the same pattern that Tatum was experiencing (breathing eventually turning into threats), but it wasn't related to anything. Tatum wasn't being stalked by the same person, the relationship between this woman and Rodriguez was mentioned as being significant but not mentioned again, the 24-hour surveillance of this woman was never brought up again as Kodiak was constantly with Tate. As far as I can tell, this person served absolutely no purpose. I kept waiting for some connection to be made, but ... nope.

Instead of Detective Rodriguez's role with the bikers becoming clearer as the series progresses, it's murkier than ever. Was he having the bikers guard his lover as part of an official case? Why didn't he ever have a partner or call in other officers when the bikers called him? It is totally implausible for him to respond to a burglary by meeting an armed civilian alone at the home being breeched. Police do not have a civilian meet with a known mobster, especially when they fear that civilian might be harmed or kidnapped, with only civilians as the backup. Too much just doesn't make sense AT ALL.

And then there's the completely unnecessary and disgusting, gratuitous, brutal, sexual violence and torture of Tate that was totally unrealistic, stripped Tate's character of all her previous abilities to defend herself, and yet didn't seem to do any lasting psychological damage. Getting married six months later trivialized the trauma of anyone surviving such an assault. It is an insult for this author to have inserted such a horrible scene (complete with the encore video viewing at the clubhouse) to then be so casual about a victim's recovery. It also made zero sense that Devlin had access to Tate and her mother for years, had been in Tate's presence nearly daily without giving off any alarming vibes, and only recently decided to kill the mother and use Tate to exact revenge on the father (enter high profile mafia man) that Tate never even knew. It's unnecessarily convoluted and unbelievable.

To top off that ridiculous scenario, Daddy Don Dominic rides in to save the day, despite being portrayed as a vicious and heartless murderer, because nothing in the world is more important than his love for this daughter he hasn't ever met in her 25 years of living. Then he loves her so much that he tosses her a business card and casually strolls back out of her life. Loving dad went right out the window. How much more ludicrous can we get?

Um ... no, I will not be reading the rest of this series. The only truly interesting character dissolved into a caricature. The caveman, over-protective, emotionally-torn biker persona is stale. The police procedural elements need a ton more research. And someone desperately needs to read through these plots for flow and feasibility.

Every Breath you Take is the third book in the Bayou Devils MC Series by A.M Myers. This series just seems to get better the further into it I go. I have loved the other two books, and I really liked Kodiak as a character- he has intrigued me ever since meeting him in the previous book/s. I wanted to know more about him and so I was really happy that he got his own book. I did have high expectations for this story, but Ms. Myers didn’t disappoint, producing a story that has just taken the place as my favourite of the series, so far. This is an incredibly well written story, with a multi-layered storyline, which twists and turns, and surprising me with unexpected developments. This is a Hot, funny, exciting, suspenseful, sexy and captivating read! I became so engrossed in the story that I couldn’t have put it down, even if I had wanted to. I flew through it in one sitting, and I loved every word!
Tatum is a wonderful character and I liked her immediately. She’s sassy, tough, strong, stubborn, a real fighter, but with a touch of vulnerability. Lincoln (Kodiak) how I adore this character. Yes, he’s the quintessential bad boy, a member of the Devils MC- who is haunted by a painful past. But he’s also caring, protective and kind. These two had an intense chemistry that simmered off the pages. The really are perfect together. But when the secrets of the past are revealed, and danger comes calling, threatening everything, will they ever have any chance at happiness?
This is definitely a story you won’t want to miss!

Thank you, Ms. Myers!

Every breath you take by A.M. Myers a five-star read that will leave you breathless. This is the third book in the Bayou Devils MC series and they go from strength to strength, they could be read as stand-alone as each story is about a different member of the Devils, but if you read them in order you get the most out of the story. Lincoln Archer or Kodiak as he is better known by the boys, is a bad boy through and through, but he is only a bad boy as he was broken at a young age by a loss he never had chance to get over but will a job for his Pres Blaze fix him or shatter the pieces once and forever. Tatum Carter is a woman I would love to meet, she would probably break me in half for ogling her man, but still I would let her kick me all over just for the pleasure. Tate has so much fight in her, but she is going to need it. My only question is which MC member will we meet next and will Theo be making an appearance in the future?

I've now had the opportunity to read several of this author's books and I've enjoyed each one.

As with the other books in the Bayou Devils MC series, there are twists and turns and smoking sex and friends and family of choice and so much more. Characters are well developed and while you may not know their exact motivation, it's easy to understand what's going on. The female protagonist is strong and independent and has some quirky behaviors that intrigued me from the very first paragraph. We get to revisit with Lincoln who has been my favorite so far (I think I say that about them all). At 75% when she does that to him I just laughed and laughed cuz he deserved it ;)

This is an enjoyable book, series and author and I absolutely recommend it.

Side Note.... what is it about a cover with a hot guy smoking a cigarette that is so hot, yet in real life is kind of icky?

Every Breath You Take, Bayou Devils MC Book Three, by A.M. Myers. This is the third book in the Bayou Devils MC series and I think it might have been my favorite.
I absolutely loved these characters and their storyline. Lincoln, aka Kodak, is known for helping people that he loves. He has had to since his father died when he was 15. He still blames himself for not being able to save one special person to him. When his president has him keeping eyes on Tatum, he knows with one look at her, he will do every and anything to protect her.
Tatum has lived a crazy life, trying to keep her head above water, the unthinkable happens when her mother is killed in an accident. She starts finding things out about her mother that seem impossible. When trouble finds her, will Lincoln be able to save her or will he lose another person that he loves?

This book has a lot of everything. Starts with a death in the family and how Tate and her twin brother were raised. In to being watched by Kodiak as a favor for the president of the club. We have family drama and trying to figure out who their Mom really was. We have a kidnapping and a long lost father who nobody would want to have. Whew.

Only thing I don't really care for is the romance is slow. If you like a slow burn you should like it. Feelings are there but it's drawn out. Oh and I would have liked to have seen more about the recovery after what happened.

Great book and I'm enjoying the series.

Started out with a good story...but Tatum is a total pill. Okay I get this is escape reading. But i found it totally disgusting that the use of a taser as a way to get back at men as funny or a reflect a woman in control. I found it totally off putting. Who does shit like that? Crazy people ... people that has no empathy for others.

Oh this one is rough.
Trigger warnings are needed (maybe they were there but I didn’t see them since this is book 3 in a 4 book kindle package I got for free). But yeah…I needed a more obvious warning. I was not ready for those parts. I didn’t know there was going to be rape and torture. Slicing her up then sewing her together is just sick. And making a video of all of it.

Anyway it will have an HEA but honestly I’m not sure if it was enough to repair the horror of those last chapters prior to the final one and epilogue.

And I was not a Tate fan. I mean she was badass and I liked that but then she went way too far. She’s a psycho for tasing Lincoln when he “rejected” her. They were kissing and then he told her she should leave and he stormed away. She’s understandably hurt and pissed. But what does she do? Grabs her taser and tases him for rejecting her. Wtf!!!! I’m sorry but that it fucking psycho. And before you go all, it was funny she’s badass for that. Think about it this way, if she had done the reverse to Lincoln and told him to leave rejecting him and he had gotten a taser and tased her, would anyone think that was ok, funny, or badass?
No absolutely not!
It was a disgusting thing for Tate to do. And that’s when I lost respect for her as a badass MC, and also really makes me question this author.
The shot to the thigh I get, she thought he was a psycho creepy stalker and manipulator. But the tasing for a perceived rejection is fucking psycho behavior and not at all funny. People have actually died from being tased!!
If Tate was so badass she wouldn’t resort to that for something so minor. Lincoln wasn’t trying to hurt her physically to warrant the use of a taser. So Tate is displaying abusive behavior and she’s really just messed up. It is not ok, and I don’t think it should be made light of like this. Especially as she will do it twice to Lincoln and once to Smith and all three times were unwarranted. If she’s so badass, and knows how to kill a man in 20 ways or whatever she brags and knows how to render someone unconscious so fast, why not use those methods???

So while I enjoyed Lincoln and I did like their relationship, I just can’t recommend this book.

I’ve given this a three star rating but it could easily have been a two. This book also needs spoilers as there is rape and torture on page.

Tate. I get she was written as a strong, can defend yourself in any situation, stubborn character. But many times she came across as a bully. She tased Kodiak purely because he stopped kissing her and said “we can’t do this”. That’s assault not self defense. She also shoots him again, without provocation. Yes she found out about him stalking her but shooting him? No. Then she tases him mid sex. Then she tases Smith for trying to stop her from going after Kodak.
Sorry but that was all unprovoked and amounts to someone who is unstable and assault.

I’m glad Kodiak stood up for himself in that he said he won’t be her punching bag, but at what point does the red flags not get noticed? This woman is not marrying material. She had no trauma in her past to justify those reactions.

Yes she was trained from a young age by her mum but by her own admission, she didn’t know why she just thought her mum was paranoid.

Weird sub plots-
- Laney and the relationship with Rodriguez. Is there more to this? Why was it in the book when there was no context before or after it.
- Theo and him popping up but then going and it seemed unnecessary.
- the rape and torture of Tate, was that necessary? No. There is no mention of the reasons why after Devlin is captured. And that sub plot is not wrapped up.
- the daddy King, he’s this big bad guy the mum kept away from the kids and on the run but he knew where they were the whole time and did nothing.

The apparent lack of trauma for Tate post it happening. She’s just over it? That’s it? Move onwards and upwards?!

So many things just not right here. But I felt like Kodiak deserved three stars for putting up with her violence.

Every Breath You Take - A M Myers
Bayou Devils MC Series Book 3

My Review:
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Pages: 424
Genre: Romance
Tropes: Biker Romance, Forced Proximity, Touch Her And Die

Tatum Carter-twin sister of Theo, doesn’t know her father, mother was very mysterious and died under suspicious circumstances. Nicknamed Tate, is a sassy female and trained since a small child in self defense and weaponry.

Lincoln Archer - Biker, been the man of the house since he was 15. Sworn off relationships since his fiancé left him at the altar and married his best friend instead years ago. Assigned by his MC to keep surveillance on Tatum without explanation as to why. Not suppose to be in contact with Tatum but can’t help himself as he’s drawn to her. Falls head over heels for her. She tases him twice and shoots him once when he tries to tell her what to do or bosses her around.

Tatum and Theo’s father turns out to be a very deadly mob boss. Everyone’s lives are threatened and in danger. ⚠️Tatum is raped and tortured. Be aware of this if it is a trigger for you. ⚠️

This book held me captive. It is action packed with constant twists and turns. I highly recommend this book. I’m going back and reading the first two in the series now.

Lincoln aka Kodiak and Tatum

This is book #3 in the Bayou Devils MC series and man!!! It seems like each book gets better and better! We met Kodiak in the 1st book in the series. He was clearly a ladies' man and wasted no time in hooking up with Izzy, Ali and Carly's friend. He had a rough childhood, having lost his dad at 15 he was thrown into the roll of man of the house. Helping his mom and two younger sisters as much as possible. Then he met someone who he thought was his forever and that didn't work out so he swore off relationships. That changes when his prez Blaze sets him on a watch assignment and he lays eyes on Tatum. She is a beautiful, independent, hard headed woman and they are instantly attracted to each other. They "meet" when Tate's going through the loss of her mom and they are there for each other as friends. Until they both see that there's no way they can be just friends. So much happens between them when ghosts of her moms past rear their head when she passes and her secrets come to light. They have to hold on to each other to get past everything that's thrown their way. I can't say much more without giving too much away. But I can't wait to see what happens next with Smith's book. Definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series as well!

Wild, Unpredictable Ride worth every minute

Lincoln (Kodiak) & Tate’s story is just as compelling as the other books in this series. This book will give you an emotional rollercoaster ride but in the best way. These men of the Bayou Devils MC will do anything for the people they care about. Tate has only her brother Theo and some close girlfriends she calls family but there are secrets of her past they she trying to find answers to but is coming up empty. Her mother took them all with her when she died and Tate is trying to start anew but the past never stays there!!

Kodiak lives for the MC they are everything to him. Their the family he’s needed in his time of grief and he’ll do anything his Prez Blaze asks of him. However, when he gets assigned to tracking and monitoring Tatum (Tate) he doesn’t feel good about it but he won’t let his club down. When feeling start to get involved he knows he has to come clean but will she ever be able to forgive him?

This is a wild ride with so many unpredictable moments but that’s expected from this amazing series. So buckle in and enjoy the ride! Happy Reading!!

This book was so intense! Definite triggers so be warned; stalking and rape.
I love Tatum. She’s so used to being an independent woman on her own and is used to taking care of herself. Her world comes crashing down when her mother dies and things are uncovered that leave her and her twin brother with more questions than they ever had.
Lincoln (Kodiak) is given the job to follow her. He keeps his distance until he can’t anymore because he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Kodiak isn’t used to wanting a woman as badly as he wants Tatum. But she challenges him in a way that he’s never been challenged before and he likes it. Tatum calls him on his bull and puts him in his place. She doesn’t take crap from anybody, the guy she has an attraction to is no exception. As the story comes to a head, my heart breaks for Tatum and what she goes through. I just wish a little more time was spent on her healing at the end.
Overall another suspenseful and intriguing read in the Bayou Devils series!

I was pulled into this book right from the get go, that is where I stayed until I had read every single word that had been written. All the while I had my little mini movie playing out in my head.
Twists, Turns and surprises await you within the pages of this book, some of the surprises you may see coming while others you won't, I did find myself trying to guess as to what was going to happen, or trying to work out how something would work out, but I never got one correct, which is usual for me, some of the surprises are large and some are small, but each and every one are equally important and helps to make the book the awesome read that it is.
Emotions are rife throughout, I found myself going through them at the same time the characters did, but I think i actually cried more. I did find myself getting frustrated a time or two, but the characters I got frustrated with redeemed themselves quickly.
This book is available on audible.

**Trigger warnings violence and rape**

Tatum and Lincoln, who is aka Kodiak, are something else. So Tatum is very independent and her mom raised her and her brother to take care of themselves. She can handle her own in some situations. She likes to control the situation. However, someone has been trying to scare her. Kodiak is asked by Blaze to keep an eye on her. Somehow Kodiak inserted himself into her life. Now Tatum is a spitfire. In some instances it is funny and I loved her for her attitude. When she needs help she does not like to ask for it. She learns her mother has a lot of secrets and they slowly reveal themselves throughout the book. It is crazy intense at times and you stay on edge. However by the time I got to the end of the book I was gutted. I sure did not see that happening and I am not going to lie and say I did not choke up cause I did. I will also say that this is NSFW or in public. At least til you get to the end.

Intense, suspenseful and a little sad in places. Both Kodiak and Tatum have had fairly tough lives, suffered sadness and deep loss. Tatum has some mystery to her background and as secrets and lies start becoming known so the risk to her own life becomes more. Kodiak charged with watching finds a lot more than he expected, including a very able and feisty young lady. I both loved and hated the sparks between these two, I was worried for both their lives at points in this story. I could empathise with both for their losses, having been there and felt that devastating pain. There is some violence and an abuse scene that could be a worry for some readers, but I enjoyed this story and look forward to more from this group of bikers. Gripping story full of mystery and suspense that holds interest and has a few surprises along the way.

Great Book / Series

I have to advise any reader there are triggers in this book, rape, torture and murder just so you’re aware of these would upset anyone.

I absolutely love Lincoln (Kodiak) as his love for Tate never wavered.
I will say at times Tate was annoying with her “I can take care of myself attitude” when clearly she couldn’t when the time came and she was subjected to the abuse and torture from her kidnapper.
I have to say I never guessed it was who it was though that was a surprise.
I enjoyed the back story linking in to Blaze and Nix and all the love from the gang as usual.
Tate was a badass when she tasered Linc that was sooo funny.
That ending though…… no I don’t like her Dad is willing to hurt her that way so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Just waiting for the bonus epilogue to be sent to me for this book so hope it’s good.
