One part practical guide, one part interactive journal, this book provides the opportunity to do inquiry as you read about it. You'll learn what inquiry-based instruction looks like in practice through five key strategies, all of which can be immediately implemented in any learning environment. This resource offers Practical examples of what inquiry looks like in the classroom, and how to do it Opportunities for reflection throughout the book, including self-surveys, templates, and tools A user-friendly handbook format for quick reference and logical progression through your inquiry journey Fifty practical inquiry experiences that can be used individually, with students, or in small groups of teachers
I really liked this book. With NGSS and C3 Frameworks stressing inquiry (and all classes should employ inquiry into their curriculum), this is the book that instructs teachers how to offer inquiry in their classes, even on a daily basis because it's not an event but a way of being in the classroom.
This book should truly be read together by departments so colleagues can share the experience, discuss what they learn, and help one another use the strategies. It might feel a bit elementaryish with the Experience templates, but get past that and use them to reflect and respond. The resources (apps, links, articles, books) are also very helpful.
This is the book I have been looking for! Practical solutions for implementing inquiry and encouraging students to be critical thinkers for life. An important read for educators interested in equity and inclusion.
A couple of nice ideas but I don't feel it really told me much about how to embed inquiry into my classroom, especially given how expensive the book was. Not worth the money.
