Our ego is simply a personal collection of beliefs adopted early in life to protect us from feeling unloved and unworthy. We created them to help us feel safe and secure. These beliefs spawn feelings and behaviors, which we call de ...more

    This was a tedious read.

When I received this book, I was excited to begin reading it, because I could use some improving. But when I actually cracked open the book...

Besides fighting the urge to pick up a red pen and mark all the grammatical errors, I didn't take anything away from the content, and what I could glean from the lesson I could have picked up from any alternative mental health magazine. In fact, this book read like a memoir clumsily inserted and meshed with a limited, maybe warped,

This book was good. My favorite part about the book was when the author was explaining how he went through medical school and college, which always peaks my interest due to the fact that I'm excited to read anything related to the medical genre.

Dr. Cohen's personal experiences have helped me understand myself. This is a good book to have and read again. It is also a good book to lend to a few friends. The workbook is an added bonus. Thank you for sending me the book. I will share it with a few friends.

Profound!! There were definitely parts that I re-read and then recognized what I needed to know. This book gave me some perspective to contemplate. The story of his "journey" is an interesting one, and I think there are parts of ourselves that everyone can see in themselves and "trying" too hard to make things happen via our ego. Worthwhile read! Thank you for allowing me to review your book.
