A freeway accident in his modern world changes the life of Blake Fielding as he is transported back in time to the infamous 'Trail of Tears'. Back in today's world, he finds murder, mystery, and the woman of his dreams. This is a book that takes the reader to the pinnacle of love, crosses genres, and reveals the soul-rending fate of a people who suffered the inequities of history.

*3.5 stars * Thank you to Billy Ray Chitwood for providing me with a free copy of 'Cloud Dancer' for which I have given an honest unbiased review*
Billy Ray Chitwood has crossed many genres with Cloud Dancer. It's most prominently a love story, but it also includes time travel, a touch of the paranormal, and gives us a taste of Cherokee history with 'The Trail of Tears', and just for good measure, there's also a murder.
It's 2017 and Blake Fielding is involved in a road traffic accident. Whilst receiving medication for pain relief he dreams of a beautiful woman, and is instantly transported back to 1838 where that beautiful woman is more than just a dream! I won't give anything away other than that.
The author's style of writing has a rather endearing quality about it, and it's clear that he truly writes from the heart. The storyline is intriguing as it moves between 1838 and 2017 - and there's a lot happening, but all the threads weave nicely together to create a well rounded, interesting, and entertaining read.
This is another remarkable helping from accomplished writer Billy Ray Chitwood. I'm a big fan of his work and took time out of my busy schedule to read this. I was not disappointed. Written in beautful prose the story dances away and takes us to the clouds. Our hero suffers a car accident and his head gets stuck in the vlouds of medical sedation. From here it is only a step further to time travel and the world of Native Indian as they face the infamous "Trail of Tears'.Sad, yet full of uplifting moments, this is a great blend of genres that will keep your interest easily. There is a lot going on in this story, historically, romantically and plot wise. It never fails to engage with its beautiful prose and imaginative storyline. A very accomplished novel about meaning in life and inequality, love and honour. Very enjoyable.
This novel by Mister Chitwood caught me up quickly. It is, I think, my favorite of his work, so far.
It's a crime drama with mystical tinges that I particularly enjoyed. It's well written, with a twisting plot and well-drawn, engaging characters. There is a time-warp side to it that the author works into the plot and narration skillfully. Using this, he works in the plight of the Cherokee people as they endure "The Trail of Tears." The ending left me feeling good... smiling.
'Cloud Dancer' defies easy description. It begins with a car wreck, and ends ultimately as a love story, though along the way we are treated to some time travel, a murder, and a slice of Cherokee history. The central relationship between Blake and Ellie (aka Cloud Dancer) is unashamedly romantic - so if you are looking for a 'feel good' book, you should give Mr. Chitwood's latest oeuvre a look. It's full of the heart and yearning I have come to associate with this author, and its general tone hearkens back to kinder, less judgemental times. In that sense, it is an old-fashioned tale, but no less enjoyable for all that. We need stories like this in our troubled, often cynical world.
