Absolutely LOVE this book - it is my GO TO! I use it so often, I'm actually going to buy a 2nd copy for myself. Everything in it is so easy to prepare, but not only that - the recipes are as delicious as they are easy! Thank you, Thank You, THANK you Natasha for making Southern cooking Keto-friendly!
This is a really nice keto cookbook with delicious looking recipes. I love that Natasha has the nutrition values. If you count whole carbs, like I do, just remember to look at the whole carb information, because she puts the emphasis on net carbs.
The best keto cookbook I’ve read so far in my weight lose journey. Recipes you actually WANT to make and EAT! Not just a “diet” recipe cookbook but a lifestyle change cookbook. Long term cooking changes. One I will keep and use the rest of my life. I do hope this author writes more cookbooks if she’s not done so already.
I gave this four stars because if you are already a cook there isn't anything mind blowing about this book. However, it is a nice book to enjoy.
I immediately got inspiration to make the broccoli / cauliflower salad. We had both a broccoli and a cauliflower salad when I was growing up. Almost the same but the cauliflower salad included iceberg lettuce which even now I still love better the second day with the wilted lettuce. Yes, I'm weird. I'm sure that my mother was thrilled though so she didn't have to throw away what was left over.
I'm also interested in trying the faux potato salad from this book.
While I'm not a devout keto follower, I am a gluten free foodie. Many of these recipes overlap. I highly recommend Newton's Southern answer to keto recipe needs. The sausage balls (page 88) taste exactly like the ones your Grandma made, but without the gluten! Newton also suggests specific grocery items for your keto pantry and shopping list.
As a southern girl myself, most of these recipes are very reminiscent of my childhood. I'd given up the thought I would have comfort food on keto. Natasha has proven me wrong.
I've made several recipes using this book, and many are quite delicious despite containing the unnatural sweeteners that I personally do not have a taste for. The peanut butter pie bites are my husband's favorite.
So many easy, yummy "comfort food" recipes turned keto in this cookbook. I've made the sausage gravy with drop biscuits recipe many times and my husband (who does not eat Keto with me) loves it! 5/5, no doubt!
Incredible and flavorful recipes!! I would definitely recommend this book for my southern keto friends and anyone wishing to try keto comfort foods. Thank you for a wonderful book!!
I’m so glad I picked this keto recipe book up, I’ve bookmarked almost all so far. Tried 5, and loved each. Nothing fancy, but each is everything. Having these recipes compiled in one book is making my life a bit more fun while cooking keto for myself.
The chili and drop biscuits are so good. The super quick meals I keep finding online are nothing compared to these keto southern copycats. Loved it made the cheese cake too so happy so good can't wait to make the pumpkin pie this fall.
I did find some great recipes that I had put in rotation. I am always shocked at the amount of strange and/or expensive ingredients needed to make a low carb recipe taste like it is loaded. I will use this from time to time.
Some good recipes that will help you to not only enjoy eating and living a Keto life, but it will give you some great ideas on how to alter your own recipes and make them Keto compliant.
Great recipes. The cornbread is excellent. Without the corn extract it makes an excellent biscuit. With the extract it tastes like cornbread. ThMany recipes I grew up with modified to keto.
I’ve cooked 10 recipes and I’d rate 8 as good/great (including lemon poppy seed loaf, granola, meat loaves, broccoli cheddar soup, sausage gravy, drop biscuits). The vivid photos and book quality are high-end.
