A very sweet contemporary romance. Both MCs have screwed up family dynamics that affect them bdly and need unpicking, plus the heroine is being a surrogate mother and is pregnant with the hero's sister's baby which, it is acknowledged, is not a rational obstacle but is genuinely quite squick-making anyway so it works. Very emotional, with two hurt, lonely people taking careful steps towards trust and openness.

Absolutely beautiful book, this is not the first I've read by Therese and definitely won't be the last, it's truly a sweet story proving that love can heal and those who love and support us can empower us to do things we never thought we could possibly achieve on our own.

I won't give spoilers but I will say that finding love after hard times is truly a special thing to help us heal and that the magic of love is the best medicine.

Thank you dear lady for writing this book and the honour of reading

A short, sweet story about two people who usually run from conflict and learn to confront it.

A heartfelt story of healing, forgiveness and family dynamics! Jess and Dylan are drawn to each other almost as soon as they meet, but the hidden complexities of the world around them give them a little run for their money when secrets are told and roadblocks emerge in front of them. It's rewarding to watch how hard the characters work to heal their relationships and deal with the consequences their actions caused instead of trying to sweep them under the rug. A quick and easy read with an uplif ...more

i enjoyed this book. there was a lot of conversation in which the main characters jess and dylan got to know each other beyond what she of him from her best friend and he got to know how she was in spite of how tangled her life was with his without his knowing. i liked that there was a lot of talk of healing. his relationship with his sister was something he wanted to work at to fix while jess knew her and her parents didn't have to work things out but she wanted to try at her own pace in the fu ...more

This gave me all the warm, fuzzy feels from the word go.

Tackling the emotional journey of surrogacy head-on, I was intrigued as to how a love story could have all the "right" level of emotion and heat that a 50k romance has to provide and still feel true to this. Well, Therese did it and more than that, the pregnancy added a layer of depth to every touch, every look, every moment of connection between Jess and Dylan. This book had me like mush start to finish. I just loved it and it will stay w

Harlequin romance titles are the WORST but the stories are fun, in the way that ridiculous 80s movies are fun. The premise is something so out there that I can't help but buy it, and the writing is good enough that I blast through it just so I can know how it ends.

Jess falls for the brother of the woman she is acting as a surrogate for! They fall in love while she's carrying his nephew or niece! Ludicrous, but so much fun.

Reading this also made me realize that I rarely read anything set in Sout

I liked her previous books more, but this one has an interesting premise - hero falls for heroine who is the surrogate to his sister.

Review to come :)

A sweet little romance set in Cape Town. Not all of the characters' motivations and actions made sense, but it was still a much better story than the title and blurb suggest.

I started off thinking as this book as a fun, sexy read, but then it turned into something else, a sensitive and poignant exploration of surrogacy, family relationships and the power of forgiveness. I also completely related to the pregnant heroine's snacking habits, which made me laugh out loud several times, and I particularly enjoyed her sparkling dialogue with the hero. A really enjoyable read.

Lots of great feels in this. Does a great job of raising the question about what constitutes betrayal and how not-so-rational our feels can make us.

Being an author has always been Therese’s dream. But it was only when the corporate world loomed during her final year at university that she realised how soon she wanted that dream to become a reality. So she got serious about her writing, and now writes books she wants to see in the world featuring people who look like her for a living. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with her husban ...more
