Zondervan has pulled together four novellas by four expert authors on Amish life. They are also very good at writing romance stories in the Amish culture. This collection tells stories of prodigals, of people who moved from their community to another and then come back, of people who leave their faith and return to it.

Some of the characters have been abused by others in the novel, some have lost people precious to them, some have bridges to build, others have to find home.

Eva comes home with a

When I need a palette cleanser I always know I can turn to Amish Fiction for an easy, enjoyable read.
The book consists of four short novels that follow four different women who have come back to the Amish faith after suffering loss. Although each story was different they all went through similar emotions of grief and heartache that blended well together.
A lovely read from start to finish!

Thanks to NetGalley and Zondervan Fiction for the advance copy!

I enjoyed this collection of stories that are themed around second chances. Each story is unique from the others, and I appreciated the variety of characters and situations. When I read collections like this I'm always transported to the beautiful countryside and what seems to be a simpler lifestyle. The issues faced by the characters are universal ones and the themes of forgiveness, family, and love are applicable to all readers.

(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this

This book is made up of four novellas about coming home to an Amish Community. I have read and followed three of the four authors, so it was great to read about characters that I am familiar with, but I enjoyed all four stories. This collection tells stories of prodigal daughters, who have returned home for various reasons. Some have been abused by others in the novel, some have lost people precious to them, some have bridges to build, others have to find home. I am not going to regurgitate the ...more

No Place Like Home by Amy Clipston

I really liked the story and thought Eva was a wonderful character. She has been estranged from her family for several years. It was sad to read that Eva and her parents couldn't work things out. Eva has a lot to think about after a tragedy strikes someone very special to her. Will she go home and try to mend her relationship with her parents?

The struggle that Eva had trying to forgive her parents also seemed to deal with pride on Eva's part. It is hard to admit

What better way to spend a time lost in book than in a book by not just one of my top Amish authors, but by FOUR of them? There really isn't a better way if you ask me. When I received this book to review, I was sick. I didn't want to read much of anything. But I dove into it with highest of hopes to be able to finish it. I read not just Ms. Clipston's novella, but all of them and fell in love with these stories of hope, faith, understanding and acceptance. Each story, written by equally talente ...more

An Amish Homecoming is a compilation of four wonderful short stories written by four great Christian authors. These stories involve Amish ladies who are returning home after being gone for some time. The ladies struggle with how they will be accepted into their community. I really enjoyed reading these stories. They show how sometimes we have to ask others to forgive us for our actions, and we have to forgive others so that we can move on. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading ...more

One of the best Amish novella collections I have read from four stellar authors in the Amish Genre. Each story is alike in that they all have someone returning home after a long absence and trying to find their way. Each author brings their own unique style to the collection. Beth Wiseman dedicates her story “When Love Returns” to the people impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Sarah has returned home with her daughter and carries a deep secret that has impacted her life and decisions. The characters a ...more

An Amish Homecoming is a wonderful collection of four novellas written by four talented authors. These stories will capture your heart and you will love the lessons that each of these authors have in store for you as you fall in love with the characters. I love how each of the characters, their stories, dreams and lives came to life. I felt as though I was living vicariously through them and viewing everything through their lens. You will find this to be a heartwarming collection of novellas written by four of my favorite Amish authors. The relatable characters face struggles, misunderstandings, and the need to sometimes face painful pasts. Forgiveness of others and forgiveness of self are important elements in each story pointing to the importance of having faith and coming home. I enjoy novellas as a break from a full-length novel. These were all-embracing stories with a variety of emotions. Plus, it’s a bargain, four ...more

I loved this collection of novellas, written by some of my favorite authors. Relaxing to read, there still were life events that each had to work through.

Each story contains the theme of returning home. Forgiveness and trust are a central theme in the set of stories. Very heartwarming with well-developed characters, if you enjoy Amish fiction you’ll love An Amish Homecoming

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

An Amish Homecoming is another great collection of Amish stories by some of the best authors. Each story stands on its own, but they all share the theme of someone having suffered some sort of difficulty and finding themselves needing to go back home for comfort, strength, and/or a fresh start.

This set of novellas, like so many others, gives several benefits to readers. For some, it is a chance to try out a new author before deciding to invest in full-length novels. For established fans of Amish

Four novellas by four different authors that could each stand alone, but show a theme of belonging, coming home, or finding a home.
They each had me page-turning and quickly engrossed in what was happening in their story, and when the final page was finished I wanted more, but was happy to go to the next.
Four talented authors offer us stories that keep your attention and some you wish you were there to help, or become part of their family.
Yes, I enjoyed this read, and you can sit down and read on

When Love Returns

These stories are about coming home. There is also romance and faith. The religion isn't as big of a part of the stories as the romance. Family is also a big part of the stories. Each also has a happy ending.

As a longtime fan of all four of the authors, I was delighted to read this collection of novellas.

It’s only natural that as we grow, we decide to leave home for different reasons and under different circumstances just as the characters in this book did.. For most of us we want to visit our family and friends in the communities where we grew up, sadly for some that isn’t as easy as we think. I have always believed that there is no place like home although some of the characters in this book didn’

Can’t wait to see what the other Novellas have in store.
