After what was supposed to be a simple job, Raven and Christian uncover a sinister plot against the higher authority, and the stakes are as high as the body count. The assassins are merciless, with anyone who stands in their way becoming collateral damage. Meanwhile, Raven is ...more
I'm not going to go into detail with this review so if you haven't started reading this series then start.
Just a few tidbits though.... Raven and Christian are hilarious with their banter. I love the witty comebacks that they are throwing at each other throughout the book. Their chemistry, ooh la la! Enough said, I think.
Dannika Dark continues to amaze me, torture me and further endear me to the motley crew of misfit breed who make up the Keystone organization. A n ...more
In fact, 90% is just kind of... boring! There was hardly an action scene in it and the ones that were there were very lack-luster. It read much more like a regular mystery. Now I have nothing against mysteries ...more
Well, I took my time reading 'Blackout' as I wanted to savour it and I'm so glad I did!! 😀
Members of the Higher Authority are being murdered in this installment. Keystone are not asked to investigate but are tasked with identifying one of the victims 😳 Victor tasks Christian & Raven with this job. It's tricky, sensitive & political - You have to wonder what their Leader was thinking sending these two 🤔 They're both as subtle as charging Rhinos in a ...more
I read Blackout in the audio version. I think Nicole Poole’s voice is a bit too mature for the Raven character, but she read well and I like her character voice transitions, so I rather have that.
I knew going into this book I wouldn’t get too much Raven and Christian saga. I mean, it’s a slow burn series. I hadn’t read the last book in some time so I kind of forgot a few elements but after a few hours I felt like I was somewhat caught up.
Raven and Christian are at ...more
I love this series and I love Danika’s writing style and imaginative worlds. This book just fell a little flat for me. After four books of angst and on again off again between Christian and Raven, we are left again with frickin’ angst! I swear to you I thought this was the book. This would be the one where they finally let their relationship flourish, but man I was really let down. Now, that being said, I do want to talk about the things I did like about Blackout.

Riveting, explosive, full of twists, turns, and complete surprises, Blackout delivers the full impact of the Crossbreed series in a single book.
This book showcases the incredible story-weaving of Dannika Dark in all its raw glory and reaffirmed why I am a fan for life. Her world building and periodic soulful musings from characters are pretty unparalleled and spectacular.
Obviously, you need to read the previous books in the series. And since its basically perfection on pages thats ...more

This book was bittersweet in the best way possible! Every time I thought I knew what to expect I had the pleasure of having the rug pulled out from under me. Don't get me wrong, I was loving every minute of it! I also adored how well interlaced the storylines are. There are quite a few small tidbits that were presented in past books that are just now growing into complex plot points. I can't wait to see whe ...more
BLACKOUT is filled with action, mystery, laughs, sexiness and moments that will have you doing the "ugly cry". Then when you're done.... you just want to know 1.) when the next title releases and 2.) how you're supposed to listen/read another book now? Every single time I finish one of Dannika's boo ...more
There were some interesting things about it and I'm glad it worked out with Patrick, although you could argue it was a simple resolution. Didn't care how things ended up with Raven and Christian. Those 2 can't get their stuff together. It needs a resolution soon one way or another. I'm not as excited about the next book unfortunately.
Why oh why do I let Dannika do this to me? I dive headfirst into the new book and I finish it in no time flat then I’m left wanting more and more. I seriously can’t recommend this author and this series enough. I’ve been in love with all of Dannika Dark’s characters since my first of her books and this series I have to admit is my favorite yet. If you like urban fantasy with a little romance on the side then pick up book one in this series and then pick up book two then book three and so ...more
I received this book for free from Tantor Audio in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I thought I would give myself a few days to calm down before I wrote this review. I'm still a little sore about the ending but I thought I could at least talk about the rest of the story.
Originally the Keystone crew is working a case involving deaths of some higher authority members, but when the city is suddenly claimed by a blackout, the job

Obviously, if I'm this far into the series then I'm a fan. The series has enough dramatic pull to keep the suspense and two main characters in Christain and Raven that keeps things interesting. Though, Christian has a
I'm a bit annoyed with Raven. Every single book she tests Victor by doing something against his orders, even if it helps alittle. I wouldn't trust her if I worked with her. Raven is not a teenager, yet this book has her progressing back to immatu ...more
Keystone is pulled into a case that involves the murder of members of the high breed authority. Someone is seating members that believe in the same thing as he does...the upcoming extermination of the humans. Only the blackout causes a snag in the chaos that's being set in motion.
I do enjoy Christian and Raven...those 2 make a good team. We learn more about other members of Keystone throughout the story.
Dannika Dark is a very talented writer. I love reading all her books. I never want her series to end.
