Save the wave, ride Spencer...

This tale of baby sister and brother's best friend starts out so innocently. Trina is so smart and self contained, she comes off as cold, but she feels deeply. Spencer tries to see her as the ten year old he last saw, but she touches something inside him. Their romance has so many obstacles it can't possibly lead to anything, right? Keep your tissues close, this HEA is not easily achieved. But that's the best part of reading this angst filled story, right?

Allyson Lindt's "Riding the Wave" is the third book in the "Ridden Hard" series, but you could read it as a standalone. I like the feel of this one because the leading lady, Trina, has to deal with a lot of male idiots in her workplace and she's strong and overcomes all of it. I've been there, struggling for respect. Just feels really real. I love Trina and Spencer's relationship. Lots of yummy sex. Sweet epilogue!

This story is about Spencer and Trina. Trina is Tristan's baby sister. She has come to Malibu from Salt Lake to work an IT job. Starting at the bottom includes the distinct (not) pleasure of being on-call on Christmas Eve instead of being at home with her family. When a trouble "call" comes in where the reporter appears to have done the troubleshooting for her, she has to bite her tongue, at least figuratively. When she goes to replace the part she discovers her teenage crush (and her brother's ...more

This is a well written romance between a mid-twenties woman and her much older brothers best friend. There are some laughs, witty banter, several steamy scenes and some angst. Trina is a smart, hardworking I.T. technician whos crushed on Spencer since she was a teenager. More than capable on the job site, shes considered a threat by some male colleagues and becomes the recipient of strong bias and harassment. Socially, shes lacking in confidence when it comes to men. Spencer, unaware of Trinas ...more

Ah, Spencer and Trina. Their journey to love is quite angst-ridden. Between hard to deal with coworkers for Trina and legal problems from Spencer's ex, they have their hands full. Plus, there's the little issue Trina's brother and Spencer being friends. In spite of all that, they have great chemistry and they're just so good together that you can't help but root for their happily ever after. This is the third book in the Ridden Hard series, but it works well as a standalone. I would recommend ...more

When we were first introduced to Spencer I wanted to know more. Trina generated the same curiosity in me. Now I cant quite decide whether I love or hate these two together. On the one hand, theyre absolutely adorable together. But on the other, having connections that go so far back means they know exactly which buttons to push for maximum destruction. When theyre good theyre great but when theyre bad everyone around them should be bracing for nuclear winter. In other words, Spencer and Trina ...more

Riding The Wave (Ridden Hard Book 3) can be read as a standalone. With cameo appearances of Trina's brother Tristan Hough from Book One & Two. However, I recommend reading all three books in the series in order as they are well worth the read plus Trina & Spencer have both made cameo appearances in the other novels in the series. Chemistry between Spencer & Trina is off the charts. I loved Trina's and Spencer's characters & so wanted them to be together. A lot of angst mixed in ...more

I liked this book and I loved Trina and Spencer together but I felt like maybe there were some twists and turns that I anticipated that didn't happen. Also I felt like the Mia situation wasn't really completely resolved. Also Cody was a slimeball.

This is the third book in the "Ridden Hard" series and the author continues with a storyline that is well written and characters that are so well detailed that I was totally engaged until the very end!

A well-written story of a romance with a lot of hindrances to overcome, I enjoyed reading this book. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it
