KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

“AVALANCHE:” Is a full length contemporary romance novels and is the first book in Cambria Herbert’s ‘BearPaw Resort’ Series. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’

In this we meet Bellamy & Liam

The ‘Prologue’ got it’s hooks into me early, Bellamy had gotten a phone call out of the blue from her father asking her to meet him at his place, she hasn’t seen or heard from him in years and it will be the last time she will ever see him again. He’d gotten in well over his head with a business deal gone bad, he’d messed with the wrong crowd and they had a loaded gun with a bullet with his name on it. These guys do not muck around.

What she witnesses in that apartment had her fearing for her life..

One year later, placed in a witness protection programme, new identity, new place the works but it all came to a head when the men turned up at the safe house had her on the run again, scared, with only the clothes on her back.

She makes her way to ‘BearPaw Resort’ the last happy memory she had with her father, not believing that they would find her here as she’d only visited for a short time when she was sixteen. But it was a place she vowed she’d never return to again.
But this is her last resort, she has no other options.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She never in a million years thought she’d run into the boy she left behind, Liam. ‘The one that got away’ the one that broke her heart. He was royal so to speak, a famous pro athlete turned expert instructor.

NOW there's even more chemistry between them simmering away in the background neither could deny which sizzled off the pages, an undeniable love that boiled over. She doesn't tell Liam about the trouble she's in and that men want to kill her because is she does that will put a target on his back.

But she's not the only one that has secrets he's keeping a few too.

God I inhaled this, once started I turned the tv off, put the partner on mute and just kept reading until I finished, freaking loved it hard. I've only read a few books by this author but that really has to change!! There is nothing I would change about this book!! It ticked all my boxes, second chance romances are fast becoming an obsession with me, and this one was one of the best, I loved the characters, the setting, I felt like I was there experiencing everything this book had on offer, the suspense, and the anticipation of the killers hot on her tail had me sitting of the edge of my seat, I for one can not wait for the next book. Highly recommend this.

Avalanche is a novel that proofs yet again why Cambria Hebert is one of my favorite authors. Starting a new book by a favorite author always gets me excited and a little nervous. I’m a little nervous, because my expectations are high after loving the author’s other books. Avalanche exceeded those expectations. I don’t know how Cambria Hebert does it every time, but I hope she never stops writing these fantastic books. This book was unique, touching, romantic and suspenseful.

I love love love Avalanche! I lost track of time, ignored everything around me and never checked at which percentage I was at. I enjoyed every minute I spent reading. I was hooked after reading the prologue and I just inhaled this book. I didn’t want to stop reading, but I also didn’t want this novel to end. I stayed awake until I was finished reading this book. Avalanche doesn’t end with a cliffhanger, but there are definitely still things left unsolved. I will be impatiently waiting for the next book in the BearPaw Resort series, but that’s just because I want more Liam and Bellamy.

Bellamy is an incredible woman. She’s strong, sweet, genuine, feisty and caring. Bellamy’s life was turned upside down after a phone call. Her life has been in danger ever since and that made her closed off, never knowing who to trust. Bellamy was different with Liam. She can’t believe her eyes when she sees him again after all those years. Bellamy is still attracted to Liam, but she doesn’t want to put him in danger.

Liam is a wonderful man. He’s sporty, talented, caring, strong, protective and determined. He loves to snowboard and being outside in the snow. He hates it that an injury is keeping him from being pro. Liam has never forgotten Bellamy, the one that got away. He’s happy to see her again. He’s determined to get another chance with Bellamy and then he’ll never let her go again.

I loved Liam and Bellamy together. They belong together, always have been and always will. The pace of the novel is amazing. Liam and Bellamy get to know each other again. They slowly fall in love again and slowly start to trust each other. They needed time for all that. When things were great between them, only then there was suspense and I loved that. I was at the edge of my seat when Bellamy’s life was in danger and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

I absolutely adored Charlie and Alex. Charlie is Liam’s dog. I have yet to dislike an animal that Cambria Hebert introduces in her books. They appear just enough and I remember their names (which rarely happens with a pet). Charlie is cute, fun and protective. He immediately wins over Bellamy’s heart. Alex is an amazing friend of Liam. He’s sporty and supportive. I’m already hoping for a book about him.

-- My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book. --

I expected more from this for some weird reason. It started out really good: an interesting backstory with the girl being in a witness protection program until she was found and had to run. She even escaped to an interesting setting and I was ready for a slow buildup where the feelings and the tension between Bellamy and Liam would steadily come back...

But no-pe, BAM. Instalove.

After all that crap I really couldn't find it in me to care about either of them, about their past, about somebody trying to hunt down Bellamy,... I really couldn't care less. I didn't have any problems with Bellamy at the start of the book but when she met up with Liam again she quickly went from being a 24 year old "adult" to a teenage airhead again in a matter of seconds.

I really don't get why L&B are so hung up on each other. Neither of them have anything going for them aside from their extreme hotness (especially Liam, I'm surprised there was any snow left in those mountains, that's how hot he is).

See I'm so disappointed I didn't like this because there are 3 more books in this series, the setting is really great (Snow! Cabins! Warm sweaters! Hot chocolate!) but I'm just not feeling the love, sorry.

Loved it! I was in the mood for a good new adult romance and this was perfect. I love Cambria Hebert’s Hashtag series (well Romeo & Rimmel’s story – it is one of my all-time favorites) and Avalanche is very reminiscent of that. Liam is an amazing hero. Protective and caring. He always puts Bellamy first and never doubts his feelings towards her. Bellamy is a very likeable heroine. She is sweet, strong and just as protective of Liam as his is of her. I also really liked that it was set in a ski resort town. It was something different for me. The suspense side of the story was good too but not quite as strong as the romance. Highly recommend if you enjoyed the Hashtag series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Apart from the (very petty) complaint that the brochure-like cover does not match what the story seemingly promises, I was actually intrigued by ‘Avalanche’ and its premise.

Past the excellent opening chapter however, I couldn’t get past the idea of the unbelievable instalove that Cambria Hebert rolled out in both Bell/Liam’s very short history or that they remembered it as true love 8 years later after an accidental meeting. Instead, their connection (both present and remembered) felt romanticised, naive, as Bellamy went from frantic woman on the run to woman who melted at everything Liam did, seemingly losing every sense of self-preservation (her half-hearted moments of wanting to run and barely-there backup plans) when he touched her. That there was a declaration of never having stopped loving each other—yes, the flings and never being seen with the same girl twice certainly help bolster that particular conviction—made me cringe, particularly when it didn’t feel as if their week-long affair as teenagers was the epic type of romance I could be crowing about.

It was as though this book couldn’t really decide whether it was going to sit in the romantic suspense category or the new adult one, and ended up straddling both in a way that provided a lukewarm version of both. The suspense—the gravitas, the heart-pounding action and the high-octane action—was simply put aside in favour of the reunion between Bellamy and Liam and that part of the plot which I liked, built up nicely over the prologue and first chapter, lost its momentum and faded into NA shenanigans that had me both bewildered. That there was too much time given to the tiresome to-and-fro about Bellamy’s insecurity about Liam and her inability to steer her own life and letting Liam dictate her next course of action was frustrating. It did pick up a little towards the end though even that stuttered to a halt with an unsatisfactory conclusion that didn’t tie very much else together apart from some revelations that helped me piece together Bellamy’s backstory.

I did expect much more from Hebert in this new series, but sadly, found ‘Avalanche’ an overall disappointment, and my waning excitement probably means I wouldn’t continue this.

January 1, 2025: I’m already DNFing this at 4%. It’s extremely hard for me to overlook glaring errors like a person standing between two walls of a house. For example, being jammed between the wall of a bathroom and a living room wall. The studs are 2X4s and then you add a 1/2” piece of drywall (gypsum whatever you may call it). At most, you’d have about 7” there depending on how the 2X4s are staggered. There’s no way this chick is hiding there!

Here are the lines: Panic assailed me as my body forced its way into the tiny space between the wall of the bathroom and the main room.

The space was so small my shoulders ached from being pressed between the two walls.

It goes on to say:…there was nowhere to move, so I sat there just feeling the pain.

She wouldn’t have enough room to be STANDING, let alone SITTING, between two walls!!

A typical interior wall in a residential home is usually between 4 and 6 inches thick, which includes the drywall and framing materials like wood or metal studs used in the construction.

Is this chick a contortionist?? 🙄

This kind of stuff frustrates me to no end. Beautiful cover, but between this and the grammatical errors I’ve already found, this book is getting deleted post haste.

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Actual Rating: 4 stars

Cambria Hebert never ceases to amaze me with her storytelling abilities. She writes these books as if she lived these plots herself and makes her characters seems like they are personal friends. I have been a long time fan of the authors work because of all this, and will continue to read her books as long as she writes them. If you like your books suspenseful, romantic, and absolutely swoony, then you need this book. I am so excited to see what happens for Bellamy and Liam next that I am going to immediately jump into the next book.

One thing I didn't realize when I started this series was that it will follow one couple only- Bellamy and Liam. I had assumed it would be a series of standalones (I'm not sure why I did). This made me feel a little surprised and teeny bit exasperated when nothing was wrapped up in this book. I wouldn't necessarily say that it ends of a HUGE cliffhanger that leaves you hanging and angry, but it is clear the story isn't over. Thankfully, all the books are released so I can go right into book 2 and 3.

I don't want to get into too much of the plot here because it will take away from the story, but I will say that it is as much suspense as it is romance. As for the suspense, readers will see lots of death defying moments and maybe some issues with the mob... For the romance, it is the couples second chance at love seeing as they met years prior.

On that note, if you want to stay cool during these hot summer days and nights then picking up Avalanche will certainly help with the heat! This book takes place at a beautiful resort (that I personally wouldn't mind visiting) in the Colorado mountains. There is snow, skiers, snowboarders, and even a AVALANCHE. I recommend it!

Don't get me wrong, I loved this book...but I think Romeo has ruined me for other male characters that Cambria brings alive with her books. So Romeo don't worry, you're still my number one. 😉

At first when I started reading this book I haven't expected that it would be so angsty and have suspense direction. But past that first part it becomes a second chance romance and at the end they intertwine. As always I loved leading male character,Liam. Cambria knows how to write her men. ♥️
Female character, Bellamy...not so much. But that's not a surprise from me, that REALLY rarely happens. The story is full of action. Definitely first time for me to read about snowboarding and that was really refreshing! And there's one aborable oversized St. Bernard puppy in equation. Definitely one exciting adventure that needs a sequel. I would love that Alex gets his book!!!

Cambria Herbert never fails to entertain. No matter the mood or book funk I happen to be in, I’m always confident that when I start something new from her, I’m going to enjoy it. And I did.

But, I didn’t love it. It lacked the connection I normally get from Cambria’s other H’s and h’s. I don’t think I got enough backstory or depth between Bellamy and Liam for me to accept them as “the ones that got away”. They knew each other for all of two weeks (before they parted ways for 8 years), and I think we got, maybe two scenes from them as love-struck teens (which didn’t surface until about halfway in). Initially Bellamy just showed up out of the blue and then a few days later Liam’s telling his entire staff that they’re official and she’s as good as family. There also wasn’t too much depth to either character. Considering how much Bellamy had gone through over the past couple of years, she came across a bit too naive. And Liam’s reactions to some of Bellamy’s more ominous statements never seemed to reach the level of concern they should have. Eh, I don’t know, I just needed more. Perhaps I’ll get just that in their second book.

As it stands, I’m far more intrigued by Alex (Liam’s best friend) and Liam’s dad than I am with Beliam.

The book as a whole was enjoyable though. I might not be in love with the MC’s, but I didn’t hate em’ either. There was a lot of action and I found myself hooked after the prologue. And, bonus, there are a lot of elements reminiscent of the Hashtag series. I also feel satisfied with where the story ended; there’s still a lot left unanswered, but I also don’t feel like I’m hanging over the edge of a cliff. There’s a lot of potential for this series. It’s still a ways off from Hashtag’s status, but, time will tell...

Happy reading.

It's impossible not to get pulled in right from the start with Cambria Hebert's newest release!

The moment this book was first announced I couldn't freaking wait to get my hands on another sure to be incredible story from the extraordinarily talented Cambria Hebert because her stories are always one of a kind and addictively captivating. Let me just say that this story totally exceeded every single one of my expectations that I had going in. I couldn't read this story fast enough and ended up devouring it in only a few short hours. It was unlike any of the author's previous releases and is for sure one of my top reads of 2018!

Avalanche is just the beginning of Bellamy and Liam's story and I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on the next part of this series. If I had to place these two on my Cambria Hebert favorite couples list they would likely be #3 (right behind Romeo & Rimmel and Honor & Nathan). I loved their story and their chemistry was off the charts. Oh and did I mention that this is a second chance romance, which happens to be one of my all-time FAVORITE genres. It was AMAZING and it will certainly keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end!

Oh my gosh! WHY have I waited so long to read this beauty?

I’ve read a few Cambria books and I’ve always been hooked but this one, this one was so much more than I ever expected.

Bellamy is an incredible person. She’s running from something that happened in her past. She’s always nervous and always looking around and waiting for something to happen but even through all that the things she goes through is terrible. She’s strong and doesn’t give up no matter what.

Liam is a pro, an Olympic medalist and after an accident he’s back in Bearpaw where his family are at. This man went through a rough time and came out stronger.

The story between these two is intriguing, I absolutely loved reading about them and I’m excited to see where book 2 goes

Cambria always manages to write books that blow my damn mind, wow.

Avalanche is a suspenseful romance packed with Angst and love that’ll leave you needing more.

Whenever a new Cambria Hebert book comes out, I pounce on it faster than you can say: "the mob is after me."

WHAT?

Okay, let's backtrack a bit. I'm still a bit confused from my flight so I'll try to make sense of my thoughts, but bear with me.

I went into this book thinking it would be a standalone, while it was not. It would put many people off, but for a series lover like me was just peachy. Still, it got me confused when around 96% nothing was really resolved. Still, now that I know, it's no biggie.

But let's really talk about this book. What I love about this author is that her books are riddled with external threats that allow the characters to be together and quite happy for most of the book. There's some angst, of course, but nothing too heart-wrenching, and for them most part, Liam and Bellamy were just the cutest couple on Earth.

I reaaaaally liked this couple of characters, especially Bellamy. She is just a normal girl, who happened to be thrust into a dangerous world unwillingly, and forced on the run because of it. Now, if you know me, you know the words "on the run" get my reader brain all happy-happy. Bellamy is combative, strong when needed, but also vulnerable and still broken by everything that happened to her and her father.

Enter Liam. He is probably the most alpha and bossy character by this author so far. I liked how he took charge of her and helped her even when she refused to be helped, how he put her first. Always. Without question. The only flaw I could find is that sometimes the bossiness was turned a notch too high and their conversations suffered a little bit from it. Still, Swoony should be Liam's second name.

The pace of the story was the reason the fifth star fell. I loved the couple, I loved how it was not a standalone, I loved the setting, as I'll explain later, but the pace of their relationship was way too fast for me. I do not mind characters living together from the very beginning or spending all the time together, especially in these dire situations. What I didn't feel was as real was how Liam claimed Bellamy as his one and only from basically the very start. I would have liked to see his feelings for her grow a bit slower, and them getting reacquainted to each other at a more normal pace. It felt a tad too Alexa Riley for me.

Now, about the setting. It had been a while since I'd loved a setting as much as I'd loved the characters, and I adored this couple. The book is set in Caribou, a small mountain town in Colorado, and most of it at the BearPaw Resort. The crazy thing is that normally I'm all for big cities with bright lights and do not take major enjoyment from reading of small towns, mostly because usually authors spend way too much time focusing on the town itself. In this case, the setting perfectly blended with the action and the characters' personality. The resort felt like a family, and the setting set the book apart from all other NA romantic suspense books. It just gave it a different, original taste.

So, to conclude, I loved this book, the characters had all the right ingredients to snuggle their way into my heart, it had enough action and things going on to be a fast, interesting and swoony read, and as usual a great style. I would definitely recommend it, and I cannot wait for the second book in the series. I want more of Bellamy and Liam, as well as funny Alex and slobbery Charlie.

It's official. I AM TRASH FOR CAMBRIA HEBERT BOOKS! Kay thanks bye.

Kidding! But seriously, I have absolutely fallen in love with every. single. book. I have read of hers. She writes the best stories and has the most absolutely amazeballs charming alpha men MCs. And don't even get me started on her female MCs. They are ALWAYS bad-fucking-ass. And if you know me, you know I L O V fucking E a badass female lead. And Bellamy is no different.

Now Rimmel and Romeo from Cambria's Hashtag series, I believe, will always be my favorite. My OTP, my first loves, my everythings! But damn Liam and Bellamy. My gosh! They are perfect! So damn perfect. But we'll see how I feel after finishing this series.

Okay, let me stop and get to the actual review... This is a NO SPOILERS review. :D

Bellamy and Liam are the MCs of this story. They knew each other when they were teenagers. Liam's family owns a ski resort, BearPaw Resort. Bellamy and her estranged father went here on vacation once when she was 16. Bells has always vied for her fathers attention. No matter how little she's seen of him her whole life. Well, during this two week vacation Liam and Bellamy grow so close to one another that it's basically instalove. But they're teenagers. Well, some stuff happens and they break one anothers hearts.

Eight years later Bellamy is into some seriously bad shit. She has no where to go. She knows Liam made it big as a pro snowboarder. So where does she run to? Yep, BearPaw Resort. She knows she won't run into Liam because he's all famous and whatever now. But who does she run into damn near as soon as she gets there? You guessed it! Liam.

Of course, they find out what happened that broke both of their hearts wasn't actually what went down and they both acted immaturely. Now they're back together for their second chance at love. And damn what a second chance that is.

Now, Bellamy starts getting comfortable being back with Liam. She forgets the reason she ran away in the first place. She forgets there are bad people after her. This throws a wrench right into her and Liam's plans of learning one another again as adults and not children.

Poor Bells had a rough life after running from BearPaw Resort the first time. It forced her to grow up rather quickly. And she had no one but herself. Liam had some stuff happen to him after Bellamy left and now that they're both back at the place they originally fell in love this makes for one hell of a story.

I cannot wait to find out more about Liam. Because while a lot of Bellamy's story comes out, Liam's story has yet to be revealed. And I'm hooked. I want more. No I need more! So I'm done writing this review so I can get right into Blizzard! :D

Leave it to Cambria Hebert to create a series with a swoony, alpha and almost perfect hero. I was missing this type of NA since her Hashtag series finished and this one, was definitely a very good comeback.
The friendships with the secondary characters are always great and although the heroines always need a little bit more "protecting" that I like (I prefer my heroines when can stand up for themselves and don't need the hero for anything, they choose to have him close.) but they're always likable no matter what.
Definitely, a good series to follow, especially if you enjoyed her other series.

Eh, 2.5 stars.

This was okay. I liked the idea of the plot, a little bit of suspense mixed with romance, but I didn't feel like it completely worked? I didn't find the characters or their second chance romance all that intriguing, so I skimmed at parts. To me, the characters felt very stereotypical NA, and I wouldn't be able to pull them out of hat if I mixed them in with a bunch of other NA protagonists. Sure, if you want something quick to read, by all means, go for it. This one and the writing style just didn't quite click with me. But I might read the sequel just to see what happens next!

Avalanche is the first Hebert book I have read since the #Hashtag series ended. I loved Romeo and Rimmel so much I was afraid to move on. But, I finally got over my fear and dove into Avalanche. I am NOT disappointed.

Bellamy witnesses a murder and ends up in witness protection. This works for 2 years, but her cover is blown and she is on the run. She runs to a place she loved as a teen-BearPaw Resort. She is hoping HE isn't there, but of course he is. He is Liam, her first love and the guy who broke her heart at 16.

So, Avalanche gives us a parallel story here. First, you have the danger Bellamy is running from. The mob is gunning for her because she put one of their most important guys in the slammer. Secondly, you have a second chance story of sorts. Bellamy and Liam met and spent a week together as teenagers and fell hard for one another. However, a miscommunication leads to heartbreak. Now, 8 years later, they are both very different people but still very much in love. I really liked these two as a couple. Liam is cocky and charming; Bellamy is sweet and tough. I thought Bellamy's warring emotions were believable-she is terrified for herself, she is worried she is bringing danger to those around her, and she isn't sure what she should do any more. I mean, witness protection didn't work! Weave all that with rekindling a romance with Liam and you have one seriously confused young woman.

Avalanche brings enough danger to keep you flipping pages and enough swoon worthy times with Liam and Bellamy to keep you invested in the characters. I might not love Bellamy and Liam as much as Romeo and Rimmel, but I loved them! I can't wait to dive into this series further and see where Hebert takes the BearPaw crew!

Here's the thing... I really enjoyed this book. I was sucked in and didn't want to put it down. I read half of it on a flight back home from vacation and continued reading in the car and at home. I loved the couple, the story, everything... but... I wasn't looking for a series. This is my fault. I wasn't paying attention. While this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it's definitely not even a HFN ending IMO (although the couple is together at the end). And while I thoroughly enjoyed this world the author built, I will not be continuing the story. I'm not sure why, other than I don't feel like I need to. I love the couple. I know they will get their HEA eventually, but I'm satisfied with book one only.

*3 Stars*

I enjoyed this one, but I didn't connect with it the way I would have liked. Bellamy sure has a lot going on in her life. Her connection with Liam is pretty strong, although it does kind of seem a bit too "insta-love" as well. I liked the characters and the storyline, but maybe it was just missing that little extra oomph for me. In saying that, I would still continue this series as it felt like it abruptly ended (I didn't realise it was a continuing series, not standalones withhin a series) and be interested in seeing what happens next with these two and also Alex.

I took so long to finish this book because I'm on vacation and came to USA (Chicago). Had so little time to read because me and my husband spent so long outside knowing the city that when we came back to hotel exhaustion took me away from the book...
I really liked it and I'm a little bit afraid of what comes next....😬😬😬😬
Will wait to come back to Brazil to read the second book....

AVALANCHE is a full length contemporary romance novel and kick starts Cambria Herbert’s new series BearPaw Resort and is told in Dual Perspectives.

I love when i open a book and fall right in and Avalanche is one of them books. From start to finish i was captivated with Bellamy and Liam's story.

Bellamy witnesses an horrific crime and has been placed in witness protection. Her life has been turned upside down, she's always looking for her shoulder. One day her senses tell her something doesn't feel right. So when i deliver man arrives at her door, knowing she hasn't ordered anything. She knows she's been found!! escaping by the skin of her teeth she goes on the run. She knows she should inform the FBI but she doesn't know who to trust at that moment.

She goes to the one place she knows will be harder to find her. It's a place she spent a small amount of time at when she was sixteen. But this place had a huge impact on her heart, wanting to feel some safety she runs to Bear Paw Resort. Hoping the one person who has the ability to break her heart won't be there..... Liam.

Liam was a Pro-boarder but due to injury he's back home teaching, with his Fathers hopes of taking over the family business of running the resort. He's putting off making that final decision, Bear Paw has always been part of his life. It holds so many memories and his best friend Alex. The best memory that has been playing on his mind recently was of the one that got away.... Bellamy.

When said girl comes barreling back into his life albeit frighten and skittish. He knows this is his second chance and nothing is going to stop him or take her away from him again.

The depth of their love reignites even stronger but with secrets lurking. Can their love and lives survive the past and the present?

Cambria Hebert knows how to write protective men who will do anything to keep their love safe. I fell in love with Liam, the chemistry with Bellamy was perfect. Alex, and Charlie stole my heart too. And a sense of Family is ringing through again with the start of this series and i absolutely love it.

Another brilliant book by Cambria Hebert!

It's not really a big secret that Cambria is one of my all-time favorite authors. There is just something about her stories and characters that pulls you in and you can't do anything but continue reading and falling in love with the world and people she creates. I want to be a part of that world.

The same thing happened with Avalanche. Liam and Bellamy are perfect. You can feel the chemistry and raw attraction they feel for each other. You can feel the ache that has been there since they fell in love when they were just teenagers. Together and apart they've been through so much you have to feel their pain and struggle, but despite that, they know how to appreciate what they have in their life. Including the chance to be together again.

There were other amazing characters (you have to love an author who knows the importance of supporting characters!). I loved Charlie, he's such a cutie. Then there is Alex (he HAS to get his own book!) and Liam's parents. I love this big family at BearPaw Resort.

Avalanche is filled with mystery and intrigue. There is drama, hot snowboarders, secrets and second chances. And, of course, one really cute puppy!

This book is definitely going to my TOP reads list for 2018 and now I'm off to bug Cambria to write the second book so I can get my paws on it ASAP.

Boarding? Dogs? Danger? Lost Love?
All the stars for Cambria Hebert’s most recent release!

“I vowed to never return, even to get back the chunk of my heart that had unfortunately stayed behind. Even after all these years, I knew it was still here. I felt it.”

Bellamy Cutler is no stranger to hardship. But one emotionally-charged decision changes her fate. She is strong, smart and selfless; even in the face of danger. Cue the one and only Liam Mattison. Hot damn!! He was everything I could have possibly wanted.

“Thought about me, did you?” Every. Single. Day.

Avalanche is fast-paced, and will keep you on your toes. I started reading this one and BAM … I was already halfway through the book. You will not able to put it down!! Liam and Bellamy share an intense connection. Chemistry that was undeniable upon their first meeting and only grown as they find their way back to each other.

His voice was all rumbly when he replied, “I understand, Bellamy. I choose you.” He chose me. That was his choice.

I not only fell in love with Liam, Bellamy & Charlie (gah, his dog stole my heart), but I adored the entire BearPaw Resort family! Can’t wait to read more from these characters.

I survived the surge!

I have enjoyed so many of Hebert's books and wanted to give her new series a try. While I didn't dislike this one, it didn't leave me with the giddiness I had anticipated either. Most of the suspense aspect felt unrealistic. Even though it was second chance, the romance between Bellamy and Liam was flat.

Not certain if I will read the follow-up.

New series

Really great start to a new series. I will warn that while it doesn't end with a typical cliffhanger, the story is left with a hang as to where does Bellamy and Liam go ...

The story is very much a second chance novel but it was very refreshing that they didn't hate each other. I sometimes get sick of that ... for these two it was more the "one that got away".

I am excited to see where the author takes us and hope we continue on with Alex (the best friend and very much like her other series with the "family" feel).

My only gripe was the name Bellamy. I said Bethany in my head, lol

This is how you do it.

This author just knows the formula for new adult. The pacing is damn near perfect. The story keeps you hooked. This is smart writing for sure.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t my favorite book or anything, but I sure as hell appreciate this concept and this author. As a snowboarder, I wanted a bit more there, but I can’t find too many other faults.

Read this book when you want something light but rich in nutrients, sorta like a salmon salad. And now I’m hungry. Great. Thanks Cambria.

Get ready because Cambria Hebert is gonna rock your world with this new series!
I was super excited about this new book and series and I'm even more excited now having read it and knowing how amazing it is. I stayed up until 3 am last night to finish it and I was a bit sad when it ended. I wanted it to keep going, it was that good.

Cambria never disappoints. Every things she writes is gold. And she kind of branched into a new sub-genre with this one and you guys, she absolutely rocked it! This book was a bit different from what you're used to from her but it was just as amazing. It has mobsters, is set on a Ski Resort and has a really huge and cute dog. And of course, it has her usual romance.
This will be another couple that will stay with you for years just like Romeo and Rimmel *-*

When it comes to the suspense part of the plot, it was pretty good too and I really enjoy how everything went down. I'm super intrigued about how everything will play out in the next book and I can't wait to have more Liam and Bellamy, and Alex as well. I can totally see them becoming an awesome and super close trio and I'm just dying for the next book already.

“I don’t understand why you’re still single.” Her palm rested on my chest. “Why, after eight years, has no one claimed you?” Emotion rumbled inside me. “Because you claimed me the day I saw you standing beneath the lift, looking green with fear.” I palmed the side of her face. “You claimed me, Bells, and never let go.” She kissed the side of my jaw. My eyes drooped, my heart rate slowing to a thud. When she lifted, I lowered, and her lips brushed over mine.

Liam and Bellamy were adorable, I loved every little moment they spent together. Even in the mist of all the fear and danger, they were so freaking cute and oh my god Liam was romantic and I just loved his reactions to her, and hers to him as well. They were just simply too cute for words. Oh, I swooned so hard. Bellamy is a badass even though she's terrified of what's to come and Liam will do anything to protect her and keep her at his side.

I'm sorry I'm not really talking plot but if I say something, it'll kind of ruin the impact of the book and I don't want to do that and you probably don't either. Just know that this is definitely a book you should pick up!
For any sports romances, second chance romance, Cambria Hebert fans get it! She has written up a brilliant new world with a lot of romance and steam, suspense that will make you not want to put the book down and it was pretty funny sometimes too. I just really enjoyed this and can't wait for more!

“I’m not sure you understand how bad this could get.” I didn’t know what else to say to him. I’d told him everything. It was as though he wasn’t even afraid. His voice was all rumbly when he replied, “I understand, Bellamy. I choose you.”

Avalanche is the perfect title for the beginning of Bellamy and Liam’s story. Not only because it’s something that can occur on one of the slopes at BearPaw Resort, but also because both Bellamy and Liam’s lives have seemed to tumble and rapidly slide downhill since they parted ways eight years ago - Bellamy due to witnessing something that puts her life in danger and Liam due to an injury that sidelines him and forces him to head back home.

And just like the danger that exists during an avalanche, that’s what surrounds Bellamy’s life, and because she seeks refuge in the only place she’s found comfort, she brings that danger along with her, which forces Bellamy to not only confront an 8 year heartache due to Liam’s presence but also to learn to trust again because if she doesn’t have someone watching her back, she may not make it out alive.

Boy how I’ve missed Cambria Hebert’s writing and characters! It’s been a bit since I’ve read a Hebert story, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to sign up for Avalanche’s book tour because it embodies all the romantic suspense qualities that I’ve come to, not only expect but adore, from Hebert.

Both Bellamy & Liam are such complex characters who continue to develop as they work through their past and what that means for their future. And even though both characters are overwhelmed with having each other back in their lives and perhaps having a second chance to get things right between them, what they must do is learn to trust one another again and find a way to keep safe while people are searching to silence Bellamy forever.

Avalanche is just the start of everything that happens to Bellamy & Liam as they reconnect and run for their lives, and I can’t wait to see where Hebert takes the storyline as well as her characters, and because readers are privy to both Bellamy and Liam’s perspective, we truly get to understand their thoughts, their fears, and their plan to protect one another and the second chance they have to be together.

Such a fantastic start! I’m dying to continue Bellamy & Liam’s story!
