This one is, at first glance, a quick read. But there is a lot to think about and digest in this small volume and it is all stuff that we need to hear. I recommend this one highly.

My 9 year old took a look at the cover, read the subtitle and said "that's like me!" so this book definitely had a good start. It's also very hard to find books about speech language issues. The downsides are this is almost 30 years old (so what has held up vs what is more accurate is impossible to know) and it was sort of hard to read. I got some good background information though... language, and the ability to use it accurately, is a cornerstone for everything, and I mean everything, else.

Incredibly helpful and relatively enjoyable book about the importance of language (and language development).. great for parents, teachers, or the average reader. Has a ridiculous amount of helpful games, wordplay, tips, and tricks for building and practicing language skills.
