From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestseller Vivian Wood comes a taboo tale of love, lust, and longing.

I loved her once, a long time ago.

Effie goddamn White, the raven-haired, pouty-lipped temptress.

Hell, I was f*cking obsessed with her. Her touch, her smell, her taste… I couldn’t get enough.

And she shattered my cold, hardened heart into a million pieces.

The blurb of this story was completely misleading (which is one of the reasons I avoid reading blurbs). I’ve never read anything by Vivian Wood before, so I was expecting something very different from the synopsis of His Brother’s Fiance.

For starters, I didn’t expect such a whiney, irresponsible heroine. Effie was so immature! She acted like she had no responsibilities at all (who abandons their job for a week and forget to call their boss about

Vivian Wood is an author I’ve been meaning to read for quite some time, one of those authors who seems to grab my attention quite often. Despite having a couple of the author’s books sitting on my Kindle, His Brother's Fiancée is the first time I jumped into a Vivian Wood book.

At first, I was a little bit worried. There was nothing about this book that was screaming ‘read me, consume me in a single sitting’, as I had been hoping for. However, it was one of those books that slowly worked under my

The synopsis didn’t match the book at all. It was very misleading. I didn’t like King whatsoever. The names he called Effie were downright degrading and belittling. It wasn’t cute or romantic. I just had to stop reading this. I pushed myself to get halfway hoping it would improve but it just didn’t.

This is a second-chance story written by Vivian Woods. Although I am not a big fan of second-chance stories, I did enjoy this one.
King and Effie were an item all throughout high school. But when things come to light King gives Effie an ultimatum. King ends up leaving everyone behind including Effie.
When we start the book Effie is now engaged to Kings brother Thorne. Needless to say, he does not come across as the best of men. So Effie runs and what she finds throughout this book will surprise a

Another great book from one of my one-click authors! 4.5 stars! I truly love this type of second chance romance, Effie and King were each other's first loves, back when love was pure and innocent, they not only have the challenge of finding each other and falling back in love with each other (if they ever fell out of love that is) but also the additional complication of Effie being engaged to King's brother Thorne when they do. I really liked their journey toward finding forgiveness for themselv ...more

I'm a big fan of Vivian Wood's work, and she's usually my go-to author for hot and sexy romances with hunky heroes and lovable heroines that I love to read about over and over!

His Brother's Fiancee'. . . I received an ARC of this book for my honest review, and truth be told, this one is just not for me.

The blurb sounded so promising, but, UGH! I wanted to STRANGLE Effie! Dating one brother to get back at the other is one thing, but to drag it out for THREE years, AND get engaged to him, when it

His brothers fiancée by Vivian wood.

Vivian wood is a new author to me. His brothers fiancée I was intrigued by the blurb but it’s very misleading. I know it’s only a story but it’s far to fetched for me. The this I didn’t like was Effie is like a child needing a helping hand in everything the need for a man to pay her way. She was shocked to have kept a job she didn’t turn up for a week? In normal life you would ring the first day and keep ringing to say your stuck still. I was waiting for some

Effie and King were supposed to live their happily ever after until he just left. Then in steps Thorne who is King's brother, what better way to get back at King then to get together with his ex-girlfriend. After 3 years of dating Thorne though and getting engaged, she finds him in bed with another woman who looks just like her. Of course it's not what it looks like but Effie doesn't want to hear it and runs to the cabin in the mountains. It just so happens to be King's cabin and he happens to b ...more

This is a great second chance romance novel.

In this book we have Effie. Effie is a young college age student. She is currently working as a vet tech at a vet clinic and loves her job. She loves helping the animal's and being around the staff.

Effie has been dating Thorne for the past three years, they are now engaged, they sort of live together.

We also have King, who is Thorne's brother. Back in high school King &

Talk about your twisted, crazy and emotional journey... wow just wow... a new twist on a second chance romance filled with anger, danger, betrayal and undeniable passion.

Effie and the Smith brothers, what a triangle of lust and anger. She and King are high school sweethearts but he is a year older and as he is leaving for college tells her he can't do long distance and wants her to move with him. He never expected her to say no... years later he comes back home and she is engaged to his younger

Lots of steam and sexy scenes fill this second chance romance. With lots of drama and secondary characters causing problems on top of the pain and baggage from their own past relationship, Effie and King have a lot to work through. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

Having read a few Vivian Wood’s books, I jumped at the chance to read His Brothers Fiancée. While this book may not be for everyone this reader certainly enjoyed the book.

In this book we meet Effie and King, who have a lot of history between them. Back in high school, Effie and King dated. Being a year apart and in different graduation classes meant that decisions about their relationship would be made that neither of them liked. King left for California and Effie stayed in Chicago. Both charac

I have read several Vivian Wood books and have already enjoyed them. Normally her characters are well-rounded with a good backstory and a personality I wanted to read more about. I'm not sure what went wrong with Effie and King. I had a really hard time really caring about their story. I found Effie to be extremely immature and annoying and could not get a feeling on King at all.
The blurb made the story sound interesting and I enjoy

I voluntarily read an ARC and am leaving my honest review.

I loved this story but it was not one of my favorites by Vivian Wood. As usual Vivian wrote with her usual creativity and the words and story just flow off the page. I felt involved with the characters. Mainly because I wanted to shake some sense into Effie & King and punch Thorne in the face! LOL.

The two brothers are Thorne and King. The leading lady is Effie. The three of them went to high school together. Effie and King fell in lov

Ok. I normally devour and love everything Vivian Wood gives us, her books bring the romance ALIVE. I have a lot of mixed feeling about His Brother's Fiancee. I may have misinterpreted the blurb or something because this book didn't feel like it was the product of that blurb.

I would have enjoyed more background on King and Effie, and even Thorne, to get to know their story a little better. We got bits here and there but they're not very enlightening. I couldn't connect with these characters very

Second chance bad boy romance with a shot of steam.

Throughout High School, King and Effie had been an item, each having an absolute faith in their feelings for each other. After offering Effie the most untenable of ultimatums in their late teenage years, King broke both of their hearts, leaving town and turning his back on his family. A few years later, he’s returned, still believing that Effie was a traitor, even realising that everything he felt for her was still there.

Not long after King left

Effie is all about keeping it in the family when it comes to the Smith Brothers! Having dated King first in Highschool, the " puppy love " ended in a dastardly way causing enough pain and resentment she was willing to do things that were ridiculously selfish to appease others. As well as hopefully stick it to King -including getting with King's younger brother Thorne, something that should have been temporary insanity turned into a three-year stint in crazy town. Now faced to deal with the reper ...more

Effie (h) was engaged to Thorne, who is King's (H) brother. She and King once was very close, but to spite King she and Thorne started something. Effie and Thorne initially wanted to piss of King by acting as if they were a couple but it grew into something more, or so they thought. One day after work she went to Thorne's condo and found Thorne in quite the predicament. Let's just say that she had really bad luck when it came to men.

Vivian Wood continues to write books I love....In fact I haven’t read one yet I didn’t it didn’t surprise me, at all, that I loved HIS BROTHER’S FIANCÉE...❤🌼🔥
To me, this book is different than most “two brothers are in love with the same girl” stories....Although the book begins with Effie engaged to King’s rat-bag, younger brother, Thorne, HIS BROTHER’S FIANCÉE is the true love story of King and Effie....And the farther

So I'm a newbie to this author and while I liked some aspects of this book, there were other parts that kind of drove me nutty.

I enjoyed the storyline, the tension, the naked bits. King has a filthy mouth in the bedroom, Effie seems to like it, so it works for them. I liked King more in the beginning of the book than I did the end. I feel like he started off pretty alpha, and then kind of morphed into...mehh...somewhat alpha-ish...maybe omega haha. Okay, I'll explain a bit. It came to a point w

YEP THIS BOOK IS HOT!  Bravo Vivian you have produced another screaming hot read for us!  That's right readers, this book is so hot it will burn up the pages.  Wow that King is one hot as hell bad boy.

Effie is engaged to King's brother Thorne.  After King broke Effie's heart she was easily swayed to date Thorne.  At first it was to get back at King then it just spiraled out of control.  When Thorne hurts Effie she escapes to the family cabin to be alone to think.  What little did she know that K

Effie finds out her fiancé is cheating-with a lookalike of her! She bolts, leaving her lazy mother, dementing grandmother, and her job behind, running to her fiancé's family’s cabin in the mountains. Okay, here's where it gets a bit tough: she had been dating her fiancé's brother. Now, some people are going to struggle with this aspect, but it's a grey world out there and you need to follow this through to the end so Ms Wood can put it all together for you. This well-written book is all about th ...more

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this book, I loved the connection between King and Effie. King and Effie were high school sweethearts and when King graduated and asked Effie to leave with him and finish high school in California while he was in college, she refused because of her family. They broke up and Effie was devastated. When King's brother Thorne asked Effie out and told her it would get back at King, she agreed, but really didn't love him. Her mother pressured Effie t ...more

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. OMG! I loved this book. Effie and King are freaking awesome. Young love, thinking you will always be together, but when Kings asks Effie to leave with him, she turns him down and breaks his heart. He’s never forgotten her and he’s always been in the back of her mind, but when Effie ends up with Thorne, Kings brother, all bets are off. There’s hurt, anger, jealousy, and the what if’s that won’t go away for both of them. One night, home ...more

Effie has her hands full, taking care of her mother and grandmother and working her job as a vet tech. It may seem strange that she’s engaged to Thorne, her high school sweetheart's brother, but he helps her family financially. She's not really in love with him, but the relationship works. That is, until she walks in on him in bed with another woman. As any girl would, she has to get away. She jumps in her car and just drives, ending up at Thorne’s family's cabin. His Brother’s Fiancée was the first book that I read by Vivian Wood. It was a fast-paced, quick, and easy read. I was intrigued by the blurb and the beginning, but by the end, the story was a lackluster read for me.

For me, the characters were very one-dimensional. There was a bit of mystery surrounding King’s job and past, but it’s really only touched on lightly, and then nothing more- no other backstory, and I wanted more. But he was strong, broody, protective, and hot, so there'
