Picked this up second hand in Honiton, quite by chance and just at the right time to get me in the mood to research a book I am planning to write on a sea captain of the era. It is well written, rich in pictures to also paint a thousand words where only a few exist in this short story of the tea clipper era. It also provides a good insight into the sailing conditions of the time and how the various actors fared, The Empire, Americans, Captains, sailors and owners. Probably not in print anymore at its only edition was 1973, but one to look out for if this topic, does indeed rock your boat!
