Secrets, Cheating #8

You're Not Worth My Tears

Rate this book
**NOTE** This is a Spinoff/Continuation from previous books. To get a clear understanding of this book and its characters, please read You’re My Little Secret Parts 1-3, You Should Let Me Love You and Cheating The Future For The Past Parts 1-3. Being the youngest sibling and only girl, Ashanti is familiar with men and all the games they play. Still, that didn’t stop her from falling head over heels in love with the father of her unborn child. Brian claimed to love her just as much, but his actions didn’t always show it. His pride and trust issues were always in the way of their union and he was having a hard time letting go. The same could be said for Brian’s ex, Mya, who couldn’t seem to let go of him. Having aborted a baby that she desperately wanted, Mya was deeply infatuated with Brian. It pained her to see another woman walking in shoes that were meant for her feet. Will Mya allow Brian to live happily ever after, while she walks around in agony? Caleb is in a relationship that he no longer wants to be in. When the truth is revealed about his live-in girlfriend, Caleb was all too eager to pack up and move along. A chance encounter with a not so friendly face had Caleb ready to settle down and give the commitment that he’s never wanted to give to anyone else. Will Caleb’s own problems stop him from finding his soul mate? Happiness is an emotion to some, but to Royce Davenport, it was nothing more than a word. On the surface, she and her husband Jaxon appeared to be perfect. With Jax having an addiction that was beyond either of their control, that was the furthest thing from the truth. After learning of some of her husband’s shady behavior, Royce was ready to throw in the towel on him and her marriage. When a confrontation gone awry puts her in the path of another man, Royce begins to question everything that she was ever taught. She was ready to finally live and be happy instead of crying herself to sleep at night. After all, no man, including her husband was worth her tears.

Loved It!

I don’t care what ANYBODY says! I absolutely love Chenell Parker’s books. The family love and how the men treat the women in their family shows that even when whoever the protagonist is and he’s acting stupid & bringing crazy drama with the love of his life, there’s never any doubt, in my mind, where his heart lies. I’m here for it ALL!!
BRAVA Ms. Parker! BRAVA!!

Great Read

Yassssssssss this read was everything. The Davenports got everything they deserved, and that darn Salis is so evil, and it sad that Elena don't have the strength to move on from him. Joyce got her happiness with Caleb, and I couldn't have been happier best she deserves that. Jax is just so disgusting. I loveeeeeee me some CoCo he is too funny and doesn't have a filter. Sondra got put in her place, and I loved it. No more tears of sadness, only tears of joy and happiness.

Tears are cleansing for the soul

It was good seeing some familiar characters and catching up with their lives. Jaden is still a trip and being himself. So glad that Caleb was very open and honest with everything and always told Royce everything. Now that Davenport family really had some deep rooted issues that they kept covered for years but things can only stay in da dark for so long. Brian finally realized that he was in love Love with Shanti.

Soooo can we get another book bout Jaylynn and Hayden update......PLEASE!!!

GREAT READ!!!

I love her books and I’m sad this is the end! I love how she included all the family meme beds from the very first book in the series and kept going until she finished with all the Andrew children. I love how she included other story lines in there also with the Davenport family. Maybe she will write about Jaylynn and Hayden!!

Skeletons In The Closet

Fans of the Andrews family, get ready—because they’re back! You’re Not Worth My Tears is definitely worth a read.

In the previous books we read Bryce Sr. and Pam Andrews have five children—four boys and one girl: Bryce Jr., Jaden, Brian, Caleb, and Brooklyn.

When we left off in Cheating the Future for the Past, Aunt Pam made it clear—three of her kids were married and had given her grandchildren: Bryce Jr., Jaden, and Brooklyn. That left two more to go. In this installment, we finally get to know Caleb and Brian Andrews up close and personal. Caleb finds himself entangled with Brooklyn’s schoolteacher friend—Royce Davenport. But here’s the kicker: Royce is married to a Davenport, a family well-known in New Orleans’ elite society. Meanwhile, Royce’s own family—who has been living a lie her entire life—is desperately trying to break into that world by any means necessary.

Now, let’s talk about this messy entanglement. Royce is married to Jax, and Caleb is living with Jax’s ex-wife, Silenna—who, surprise, surprise—turns out to be Jax’s current side chick. Confused? Trust me, I was too! But as always, Chenell Parker weaves a web of drama that keeps us flipping pages and wanting more.

If you haven’t already, make sure to read You’re My Little Secret (Books 1-3), You Should Let Me Love You, and Cheating the Future for the Past (Books 1-3) in that exact order to fully grasp all the connections in this drama-filled world.

Now, let’s get into the Davenports—the picture-perfect elite family… or so it seems. Silas, the patriarch, rules his household with an iron fist, believing women should be seen and not heard. His wife, Elena, appears to have the ideal life that everyone envies—but does she really? They have five children—Jax, Ashley, and two other sons—who are all grown, yet Silas still treats them like children, controlling them at every turn. But when the doors to the Davenport family’s closets swing open, boy, do those skeletons come tumbling out! Turns out, perfection is just an illusion.

In Cheating the Future for the Past, we were introduced to Shanti—the nail tech who occasionally filled in for Keller. Now, with Keller stepping down to be a stay-at-home mom after having her fourth baby, Shanti officially joins the crew at Bryce’s shop. But aside from the salon antics, what really keeps things interesting is her growing connection with the Andrews family—especially Brian.

And speaking of familiar faces, remember Jaylynn? Daddy’s little girl is now sixteen, and Jaden has a strict no-dating rule in place. But Jaylynn has her heart set on Hayden, Sweets’ nephew—who we met in one of the previous books—and she sees no reason why she shouldn’t have a boyfriend. The sneaky antics between Jaylynn and Hayden—using Co-Co and Sweets as their cover—bring plenty of laughs… until everything blows up. And when it does, Jaden gets hit with a harsh dose of karma, with Uncle Shaq reminding him exactly what he and Kia put Mo through back in the day.

We also get to meet Juice, Jaden and Kia’s three-year-old son, who adds even more laughter to the story. And of course, we can’t forget Co-Co—a fan favorite—who never fails to have us in tears. Pure comedy! The book delivers the perfect dose of humor, reminding us that the Andrews family never leaves us—or New Orleans—without something to laugh or talk about.

With drama, secrets, and unexpected twists, You’re Not Worth My Tears delivers everything we’ve come to love about Chenell Parker’s storytelling. If you’re a fan of the Andrews family and Parker’s unforgettable characters, this book is a must-read!

From tears of pain to joy

Caleb and Royce's first encounter isn't the best situation, but fate steps in and makes their second encounter the best encounter. Royce and Caleb are able to bypass their initial meeting and find a forever family together. Royce finds herself, her identity, and her voice, causing her to stand up for herself and to start living life on her own term. I'm so glad that she stopped being under her mom's control and was slick hoping that Pam made good on Caleb's request. Sondra realizes that all that she sacrificed for the greenier grass is all for nalt. That greenier is covered by some much manure and it's finally exposed.

I am so glad that Brian and Shanti got it together because I was sick of the back and forth. Trust and communication are their main problems besides Mya. It's ashame that she couldn't let go and ending up costing her. Brian should have left her alone, but when he not only tells her but shows her that he didn't want her, Mya should have moves on, but she did, just not the way that she thought.

Jaden gets a taste of his own medicine when he sees that the iron fist that he ruled with still didn't stop his baby girl from becoming a teenage mom. He talks so much junk before the baby got there, but is the main one spoiling her. I really enjoyed reading this story and of course, laughing is a major component. The characters go from crying tears of pain to tears of joy.

You're Not Worth My Tears

Jax definitely wasn't worth Royce's tears and it was long overdue for Sienna to get a backbone. It was crazy that he had such a good woman but threw it all away by being selfish and wanting more. It's been awhile since I read about Brooklyn's family and I wasn't disappointed. The Davenport's had some serious issues and a lot of secrets. I hated Silas and couldn't believe Elena wouldn't put her foot down. Sondra got on every nerve I had and I laughed at how she tried so hard being someone she wasn't but still didn't get what she was longing for. Uri always had Royce's back and I loved their bond. Caleb and Royce didn't start how one would expect but it lead to something much greater. Shaky was delusional and should've listened to Cookie. She was doing the most behind someone that constantly proved they weren't interested in what she had to offer. I loved how Shanti knew what she deserved and made Brian prove she was where he wanted to be. Brian's insecurities were a bit much at times and his reaction was childish. Lawd Jax was doing too much. Jaylenn hurt my feelings a little and Hayden had some nerves. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved how the relationships blossomed after so much tried to break them apart.

Going to miss them

I love how the old crew mixed in with a new story line created the most entertaining drama. They are all still wild as hell. Royce really surprised me, thought she was going to be some bitter wife, my baby. Royce flipped the switch on everybkdy, Jax, Caleb and her mama. She was nit here for the crap, but Uri played a big part in that. As the story gets deeper dark secrets, jeaslousy, and love battles previal. That Davenport family is a good example of uppity folk with issue. From the wife beater to the prevert. Caleb and Brian got their acts together, Brian especially. Shanti did not play with Brian, i like how she didnt force anything on him, which made him come to her. Everybody had something going. Jaden was a trip too, talk all that crap and the main one spoiling. Last but not least CoCo, who will never change and his filter is never present.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Once again Chenell didn’t come to play. Jax was hella dumb🤦🏾‍♀️ he was doing entirely to much. At first I was like please don’t let her be one of those females😩 but I’m glad she wasn’t 🤣she being (Royce)🤣 Royce mama got on my last nerve, I’m like daaaaaang you can’t want your only daughter to deal with this type of foolery 😒👊🏾 Loved Caleb. Uri was also another one of my favs, she didn’t play about Royce. Brian was making me mad but I’m glad he finally came to his senses. Mya was a hot delusional mess, the girl just couldn’t catch a clue. Jaden had me dying about his daughter and granddaughter, hope to read more about Jaylynn. Jax mama was a super dummy and I just couldn’t with her or her family. Just throw the whole family away🤣 another banger🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

A great read!

I enjoyed reading this book! It was nice catching up with all the old gang and meeting some new ones. Silas Davenport was a freakin disgrace and I really hope he would've gotten his, poor kids were just as messed up in the head as he was, thankfully Jaxon was trying to get it together. Karma always has a way of catching up to you! Look what happened to Mya, Katrice & Ronnie! Co Co is still as crazy as ever, I literally laughed until I was in tears! Juice, Lord have mercy. Chenell Parker really knows how to bring the drama, I finished this novel within hours! My continued complaint will always be the editing but overall a great read! Keep them coming Ms. Parker!!!!

Love At Last

Awesome story, this book took it back to the beginning of the Andrews Family, Brian & Caleb Andrews were the last of the siblings to find love.
Brian and Ashanti( Shanti) were expecting their first child together, but Brian wanted to play games knowing deep down that Shanti had his heart.

Caleb was in a dead end relationship with Sienna and finds out by default that she is still sleeping with her ex husband Jaxson, guess who drop the news? His current wife Royce.

We can’t forget about Coco(lol).

There is so much going on in this book, All I can say is please read it, you will not be disappointed, Chenell gave the Bizness in this story.

I could not pit it down......

I love the cameos from past characters and loving the new characters. The Davenport was a hot ghetto mess. I guess that is what happens when you think your s$#% don't stink. You can hide your dirty secrets for so long until all just come out. Jax was just nasty!!! Mya was delusional! I almost died when Jaden found out the big secret!!! I love the fact it did not end too quick and the characters were developed. Thank you Ms. Parker for another great book!!!! I have been a fan since Brooke and Dominic!

What a great way to end their story. I absolutely loved this family. I'm glad that love was found by all and that they all got their individual happily ever afters. Of course my boy Co-co never lets me down with the theatrics. And it was good to see some of characters from earlier books. I'm sad to see it end. Hopefully we'll eventually get to see what goes on with the new generation. I'm curious to know how things will turn out for Jaylynn now that she's become a young lady. I'd definitely recommend these books to a friend.

Another great funny read by Chenell Parker... Jaden and Co-Co are back and stupid as ever. But Caleb is just as crazy. What the hell was Bryce Sr and Ms Pam smoking when they had their kids lol. I really enjoyed Caleb & Royce. Royce mama was a piece of work. Brian and Shanti were lovable with their hardcore relationship. Silas and family got what they deserve. Jaxon was sick but I'm glad he is trying to turn his life around.

Great read!

I loved Caleb and Royce’s story. The issues they faced where realistic and how they overcame them was awesome. I wanted more on Elena. I wanted her to breakaway from Silva’s but not everyone will get a happy ending. This story was full of drama that was very entertaining. I loved how she weaves all the old characters into this book. I felt like there was closure for all the couples. I will continue to read books from this author.

Love it

I have fallen in love with this family, they never fail to make me cry with laughter. What a lovely story with all the love and action as always. Royce really met the man of her dream but after Jax anything would be good. Jax and his siblings what a joke, I am so glad their wicked family was taken down in the end and what a dysfunctional family they truly are. Elena I could not even feel sorry for. Looking forward to the next instalment of its story Chenell.

Chenell never disappoints me with her releases! This book was on point and I loved it! I loved the messages and theme of the book of trying to live a perfect life because everything just might not be what it seems behind closed doors. The storyline and character development was excellent! I loved Royce and Caleb and how they fell in love!

Loved it.

All of the books that I read to get to this one was good, but this book was simply amazing. It was exciting and action packed all the way through. The entire Davenport Family was a bunch of sick, twisted individuals and karma paid their behinds a clear visit. Chenell Parker did a great job with this book.
