This was one of my very favorite picture books as a kid. The mystery and beauty of marine life is presented in an enthralling way that's inspiring and accessible to children. I remember many of the scenes in vivid detail even now. The conservation messages about human threats to sea turtles make sense to young audiences without being daunting.

(1-01-2000)Alissa thought it was sad the mother turtle never got to see her babies. She also liked it when Loggerhead escaped from the net.

(4-28-1999) Alissa was very interested to know that mother loggerheads never see their babies.

(1-28.1998) Now Alissa loves turtles too.

(12-22-1997) Auntie Pam, Uncle Ron, Rebecca and Hannah gave this to Alissa for her 3rd birthday. Excellent story and pictures. Alissa enjoyed the stuffed animal and tape too.

This tiny book came witha little stuffed animal. I tells the life story on a sea turtle. Very cute.
