Nate Temple has an appointment in Hell. One he can’t reschedule…
After recent events, Nate took some much-deserved time off for a little rest and relaxation. But when he finally returns home to attend what should have been a celebration of love, he finds insidious fear infecting the streets of St. Louis.
Paranoia. Chaos. Anarchy. It seems every supernatural family in town...more

If you didn't know, this universe has 30 books or so and it's recommended to read them in order, not the series, one by one.
I chose to read the series for now, not the whole universe. Not because I don't want to, but because I want to keep some amazing books for dark days.
It would have been useful to read the other books too. I'm a bit sad I didn't... But I stand by my decision, this author is way too amazing to not have things to read by him.
If you've read the previous books, you kn ...more
This teaser comparison in the publisher’s blurb - as hard as it is to believe - is an understatement (and I’m a huge “buy every book ASAP” fan of most of these listed authors). The Temple Chronicles are more delightful than Dresden, more ironic than the Iron Druid, more criminally fun than Crimes Against Magic, more ...more
Characters of note: Talon, Carl, and Alucard.
Chapter 51 made me cry like a baby, so what is everyone waiting for go find the first book Obsidian Son.
Lots of Love,
Nate has his friend Death escort him and two of his other friends, Talon the Devourer and Carl, the Elder, to Hell, where Anubis assigns Virgil (except it turns out to really be Dante) to guide ...more
In many ways this is a return to the structure of earlier Nate books. There’s more tension and more at stake as Nate rushes to find the missing pieces of his life, his legacy, and solve the mystery of what he is and who he can become. There’s a return to the sense of urgency that’s been missing since the Tiny God portion of the series ended. We get a first glimpse at our new big bad and all signs point to it being one hell of a ride.
There is trouble brewing in St Louis and, for once, ...more
What I love best is that the characters we already know and love come back to cause more mayhem. And then new ones get added and w ...more
Action, humour and intrigue abound in this fast-paced totally compelling new chapter of Nate Temple and friends in the chaos that is their lives. So many hilarious one-liners that I lost track. Epic battles, heart-wrenching and heart-warming moments and a downright creepy stroll through Hell.
An unputdownable, edge-of-the seat adventure that's bound to capture the imagination and deprive one of sleep!
I don't know quite how Si ...more

I love the Nate Temple series. I have from the 1st chapter of the 1st book. How can you not love a series when it begins with cow tipping the Minotaur. The whole series has an awesome balance between craziness, hilarity, gruesome violence and mythology. What's not to love? Shayne Silvers is keeping up his streak of great books with this 9th installment of his series. I won't give any spoilers here, but the story flowed wonderfully & both answered and raised a lot more quest ...more
I originally found the Feathers and Fire series which was amazing. Before I knew it I had read through 6 books of that series. The ...more
The hand basket was to small so Death is transporting him and two of his most lethal friends there personally. While his other friends in St. Louis turn their backs on Nate and break ties with each other things start to heat up in Hell. Will Nate bring Hell to its knees in his quest for answers to his past. Or will Hell's ruler destroy Nates soul? Will The Temple Team survive without Nate to hold them together and provide them with snarky comebacks. All the ...more
Shayne Silvers delivered one of his most enjoyable books. Nate Temple returns in this book to find his close friends and allies distancing themselves from him. Multiple plot lines involving his friends and Nate's visit to hell. What I loved about this book is how these old familiar characters continue to grow. New characters are also introduced and elements from early in the series are brought back in. Often times you read a tale and you just want to know the ending. With ...more
Speechless. Nate keeps the drama level pegged to max in this latest adventure. All sorts of crazy things happen. All sorts of hints and foreshadowing. All sorts of unanswered questions, including but not limited to, the title of the book. The nine souls get mentioned a few times but the book ends without telling what they are or what their significance might be. Now don't get the impression that the book ends on a cliffhanger. It doesn't. But like everything else in the Templeverse, e ...more
Nate stands witness to an execution of a very dear friend, an execution of marriage 😉 Then, thinking he is losing all his friends he keeps a tight scheduled appointment in hell, one that is dearly bought and a one time only trip. Will he make it back? What about Falco and her revelation of the last book? All sorts of questions get answered, and many more asked. A must read for fans of paranormal adventure. Hold on tight, it' ...more
Why must Nate always get himself mixed up in these sticky situations?😂😂I loved the book, i only found two sentences where a word seemed to be missing but that's really irrelevant. The plot was perfect as was the humor, action, the displays of emotion, ALL OF IT😆 I'm dying for book 10 now as well as Callie's next book, the torture! Did an all nighter with this book as soon as i got the fb notification, could not put it down! I mean...come on.. WHO NEEDS SLEEP?😂😂 Keep it up Shayne, we' ...more
The series never ceases to amaze. So many bends and turns to the storyline that never seen to connect until suddenly they do.
Nate's world is falling apart as one friend after another needs "space" from his affiliation.
But what happens when Nate is in Hell without the backup he has come to depend on, facing a foe that he knew he already killed?
This book is a fantastic way to bring the whole story back to the beginning, preparing us for a whole new story ark!! And hopefully more ...more
It felt like a lot of pieces moved in this one. It seems like this was a book to build characters and plot line for the overall story arc.
I really, really appreciate the misdirection with Gunnar. At the beginning I though this would be a story about how they deal with what happened n the first few chapters, but that was just one of the story lines followed. Turns out Gunnar’s just a badass and handles his business. I like where this story left off and where it’s goin ...more
Book Nine of the Nate Temple series starts off with a bang at a wedding and rockets through the ending in a torrential thunderstorm. As usual.
As I think I have said before, you really should have read the first eight books before jumping into Nine Souls. By doing it this way, I think you will enjoy all of the twists and turns of Shayne's devious mind more than if you were trying to figure out who's who and what's what.
Now, let's talk about this specimen of a man named Shayne...
Shayne Silvers writes the "Nate Temple Series" which features a foul-mouthed, flawed, young wizard with a chip on his shoulder attempting to protec ...more
