Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review,

Gardening with Emma has been a pleasure to read ,
There is so much covered in this book, she explains about weeds covering the edible ones, and goes onto soil. I was really impressed how she explained how soil is made up and the different types, this is really good for kids to be aware of and often though to technical for children who end up thinking mud is just mud!
Sun and water and how much of each

I'd like to thank Netgalley, Storey Publishing, LLC and Emma & Steven Biggs for this ARC of Gardening with Emma.

I chose to read this book with my 3 year old and she was enthralled! The pictures and illustrations are wonderful! Before I get to that though, first let me say that I can't recommend this book enough for families who love gardening or who would love to start. Gardening with Emma is such a sweet and informative book with beautiful pictures and wonderful ideas! There are even pages

What a fun book. Written from the point of view of Emma, who is 12, the reader gets a nice perspective of how a kid views the garden. I remember helping my own parents and doing different plants for 4-H, but this takes it to a whole new level. Also enjoyed her discussion with what weeds are edible. Will have to try some of these, to see how it goes. Love how she talks about the soil, the watering, the bugs, etc. Easy to follow and shows a lot of visuals that really help explain her concepts. This kid friendly guide to gardening is filled with bright photos and illustrations and lots of useful tips, tricks and fun activities. This is the perfect book to encourage and inspire children to get outdoors, and get involved in cultivating their own food, and experiencing the beauty of flowers and the wonders of the insect world. Beginner and experienced gardeners aged eight to adult, will want to add this to their library.

I was very impressed with the contents of Gardening with Emma. It was filled with quite a bit of information about gardening, including such topics as good and bad bugs, creating beneficial containers, and even edible flowers. There were many photos/illustrations that added to the allure of this well written and researched book.
Very highly recommended!

This is a book by a young lady for children, but I have to tell you I learned alot too. Emma is 12 years old and has done a lot of research for this book. Among my many hobbies gardening is one of them. I want to pass on the thrill of growing your own vegetables and fruits to my Granddaughter. With this book it is a great way to start and continue the tradition. From growing vegetables to different types of bugs this book tells you everything about them and how to care for them. The good part is ...more

Emma, I am not a gardener but reading your book makes me think that I could be!
The pictures are bright and show how appetizing fruits and vegetables can be.
The flowers are beautiful as well.
The directions for making items that you can use to grow things in your garden are awesome! Maybe someday we can use your book at our school to grow some of the things you suggest and make some of the items, too. Maybe we can start with a bug habitat!
I could go on for hours about all the things you includ

Captivating, very attractive and with refreshing children's perspective

I loved reading this book, it is very well presented with colorful images, the reading is enjoyable and refreshing from Emma's point of view. It has interesting information that was unknown to me, I did not know about grafted vegetables and I found it surprising. She also shares with us her drawings, creative ideas, and photos with her brothers from her Emma's garden, which made me feel close to the author and appreciate her
