Cottage Garden by Kathy Cardiff, Martingale, 2018, library book, read July 2018. Hand embroidery stitches. I am looking for some hand work that I can quilt in the car. This book is about embroidering on felted fabric.
- Felting is a process use to tighten the fibres and make wool feel thicker and shrink a little. To felt wool, wash it in hot water, using a short, high agitation cycle. Add a very small amount of soap and several tennis balls to the wash. The balls help with agitation. Rinse the wool in cold water. The temperature change from wash to rinse helps with the felting.

Wool applique is not my technique of choice. (I got this book at a warehouse clearance sale.)

The instructions and projects are all done with wool felt. Either applique or direct embroidery. I enjoy working with felt and enjoyed seeing the different projects and designs.
