4 Wedded Bliss stars to Love, Lies, and Wedding Cake! 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂

I am not much of a royal watcher, but I have Royal Wedding fever! I’ve found myself obsessed with Meghan and Harry and their genuine love for each other. So, reading Love, Lies, and Wedding Cake on the heels of that experience was apropos, even if in the form of a fun and heartwarming rom com!

Faye and her Aussie boyfriend, Dan, have traveled the world together experiencing all the most romantic locations. The fun stops when Dan propo

5 Delicious and Delightful Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Faye is being added to my book BFF list, and she might be the only member that was born in the same decade as me.... Sue Watson, where have you been all my life? This I am sad to say was my first book by this author, but I will from now on pick up every book that she writes! This book just had the perfect blend of romance, humor, friendship, family, and food.... I was seriously up all night reading this book, laughing so hard I was crying at two in the morn

Love, Lies and Wedding Cake is a fabulous heart warming, laugh out loud and fun Rom Com about starting again, family, relationships, love and drama.

Recently divorced Faye is in a relationship with a younger sexy man Dan.

Hmmm, I have complicated feelings about this book. To be honest, I almost gave up a quarter of the way through. Personally, I felt that Faye, the main character, was bitter, immature, narcissistic, and incredibly selfish in the beginning. Additionally, I strongly disliked Faye’s granddaughter, Rosie, who was overly precocious and behaved in a way that no toddler would. These two characters made the first part of the story a touch stressful and unpleasant to read. Perhaps the fact that I hadn’t r ...more

I am a huge fan of this authors books. Love, Lies and Lemon Cake being my absolute favourite. Have you ever loved a book so much though and wish the author would write another one featuring the same characters? Well Sue Watson has answered my prayers!

To be fair this book does read well as a stand alone but I beg you to read the first one as it is fabulous and you really don’t want to miss the beginning of Faye and Dan’s journey.

It was sooooo good to catch back up with Faye and Dan again. Sadly n

Hilarious, delicious, inspiring are just three of the words I want to use to describe Love, Lies and Wedding Cake which is utterly brilliant!

It is the long awaited sequel to Love, Lies and Lemon Cake and despite it being a few years between reading them, I realised I remembered the basics, and especially Faye and Dan, within a few pages, which to me is the sign of an author writing memorable characters. This could be read as a standalone, but honestly why deprive yourself of the joy of reading

What a 'bruddy' brilliant book!! Ms. Watson has done it again, given a book so full of love, laughter, and ridiculously loving characters. The warmth Sue Watson's writing exudes literally lights up my day. Even a heart soaked in pain finds solace and a way to smile with this book.

"Death is not the greatest loss of life, the greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live"

I absolutely adored this book and couldn't read it fast enough.

So many moons ago back in 2012 I doscovered this author named Sue Watson. I read a couple of her books and then in 2014 I discovered Love, Lies and Lemon Cake a book that has continued to stay on my all time favourites shelf ever since. It's also one of the few books I have read more than once. Over the years I have been nagging and whingeing for a while about a sequel, and lo and behold look at this beauty! I have to admit I was scared and excited in equal measures. What if she made a hash of i ...more

'Love, Lies and Wedding Cake' is the sequel to Sue Watson's previous novel, 'Love, Lies and Lemon Cake'. I had hoped that I would have read the first book before reading the second book, however that wasn't the case. Luckily it didn't make much difference as I was able to read this book perfectly well on its own.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series and the latest book was such a lovely, warm read. It felt like returning to old friends and settling in to catch up on all the gossip. Faye is on holiday with Dan, the Australian, when she is shocked to hear that he plans to return to Australia to see his brother, who is very unwell. She contemplates joining him- but feels too drawn to her family and plans in the UK. They are both left heartbroken.

There are some very funny moments with her grand d

Love, Lies, and Wedding Cake is a sequel to Love, Lies, and Lemon Cake, which I haven't read, but also didn't feel it was necessary in order to understand this story. The book starts with Faye and her hunk Australian boyfriend Dan enjoying themselves on a beautiful beach. Faye is a 46-year-old divorced grandma and Dan is a carefree, single guy in his 30's. Life seems absolutely perfect to this middle-age grandma and her wonderful boyfriend until tragedy hits home and Dan has to move back to Aust ...more

Love, Lies and Wedding Cake is the sequel to Love, Lies and Lemon Cake both could be read as stand alone novels but why would you? You get the back story to Dan and Faye's relationship and it's where it all began for my addiction to everything that Sue Watson has written.

Love, Lies and Wedding Cake was a total 'emotion fest'. It was like a visit to the fairground. Huge amounts of laughter and smiles as I rode the highs and lows of the big dipper, Sue Watson is a natural comic, has great warmth a

This book is the second one in a series, but don't let this hold you back. It is perfectly readable without having read the first one and it will only give you more reason to devour the other book as well.
It a laughing out loud story, but not a foolish one because the author has managed to put a lot of depth in it as well.
Of course when you are young, you see things differently and you don't think everything through as well as you shoud. And then life happens and you try to do the right thing.

Wow… Sue has done it again! Outstanding. Read within two sittings. I adored Love, Lies and Lemon Cake (book one in the series) so this was a must read for me and boy was I impressed and hooked. Bloody brilliant! I would recommend this series be read in order so you get a feel for the characters first before reading this one.

What a perfect follow up to book one, back with the familiar, funny and charming characters. Parts had my chuckling away to myself and falling in love with Dan all over again

I absolutely adore this author. Her books make me laugh out loud and cry with emotion. With all her books, this one included, she delivers a cracking story full of heart, seasoned liberally with humour. This book was an incredible, unputdownable read. There were parts where I laughed with tears rolling down my cheeks and others where I couldn't hold back my tears because the scene was so poignant and beautiful. This was a feel-good humorous romance with Sue Watson's usual LOL style. I was really rooting for the happy ending and got a bit frustrated with the baby-mother scuppering plans but I needn't have worried. Another funny read about second chances at happiness!

I have been a huge fan of Sue Watson’s for a while now. I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing a fair few of her books and I have loved each and every one and ‘Love, Lies & Wedding Cake’ is no exception. I absolutely adored reading it but more about that in a bit.
I took to the character of Faye from the start and I found myself giggling away to myself at some of the things she got up to or the things that she said. She has been married and divorced and she is currently in a relatio

Everything is going well for Faye until her boyfriend Dan drops a huge bombshell. He is going back to Australia and he wants Faye to go with him.....as his wife!

The dilemma Faye finds herself in is one that so many women will relate to. Does she go with the love of her life, or stay at home where she is desperately needed by her daughter and granddaughter? The agonising decision Faye faces had me gripped completely. I debated what I would do in the same situation and I couldn't decide, but wome

I had just come off of a downer of a book, so Love, Lies and Wedding Cake was the perfect antidote. It was a light easy read, and I breezed through it.

When Dan proposes and asks Faye to move back to Australia, she puts her desires aside and says no, she n

Yes, yes, yes! Another excellent book by Sue Watson! I hesitated before reading this book because it's the second part of a series called "Love, lies and lemon cake" and I didn't read it. But I was really tempted by reading it because I really enjoy Sue Watson's books usually so I decided to give it a go and I am so happy I did it! It’s worth reading any Sue Watson book purely for the fun chapter titles and Love, Lies and Wedding Cake is no exception. I read this book in a couple of days and loved it from start to finish.

Faye has a gorgeous, younger Aussie boyfriend named Dan and they’ve spent a couple of years travelling around some of the most romantic places, sightseeing and enjoying cakes all over the world. They’ve been happy enough but then Dan proposes and asks her to move to Australia with him. But what about Faye

Second chance at romance with a more mature character than usual, well, that was right up my alley. I'd not read the first book but that wasn't a problem because I was able to hop right into the story. Faye and Dan might seem a slightly odd couple but their adventures prove that's not the case. His proposal, however, knocks her for a loop. Let go of some of the implausible things (Rosie is 3 and talking like an adult) and just enjoy. You know where this is likely going to go but Watson throws in ...more

This is Sue Watson doing what she knows best - making us laugh, making us cry, but most importantly writing stories about believable characters we can identify with.

Well I can anyway :)

Sue should still to this genre, and leave the thrillers to those who have gone before you...I almost didn't read this one because the thriller put me off so much.

When Dan announces that he is going to move back to Australia, his family needs him, he asks Faye to marry him. Faye is not willing to leave England where her daughter and granddaughter live. From the cover and synopsis, I thought this would be a fun book to get into on a lazy Saturday. The cover boasted its "bloody hilarious" contents, and I was eager to dig in.

It was slow going from the start for me. I couldn't really connect with the main character, maybe it was a "different life stages" thing, or maybe she was just unlikable. I pushed myself to give the book more of a chance, but when I got to the part where (view spoiler)
