Highland Spring – Book 1
(Seasons of Fortitude Series)

Spring is a warrior of the Gunn Clan who is offered up as a bride to form an alliance with Shaw Gordon – their enemy. It is actually all a ploy to get inside the castle walls. But once Spring meets the chieftain and his three children from his late wife, she starts to care for them and is pulled into a life she never expected. However, her father has been keeping secrets and Spring finds out she has been lied to her entire life.

Can a warrior woman find love and happiness as the wife of her enemy when she discovers her entire life has been based on a lie?

Lady Renegade – Book 2
(Legacy of the Blade Series)

When a horrific battle between the English and the Scots takes Lady Wren’s sight, she is forced to go into hiding with her newborn, and eventually is the leader of a band of renegades. Highlander Storm MacKeefe is tricked into accepting the challenge of hunting down and bringing back the leader of the Renegades. Little does he know he is searching for a blind woman.

Two sides meet, but before he knows it, Storm is captured by a blind woman and her army of women warriors. Sometimes losing one’s sight isn’t what makes a person blind.

The Baron’s Bounty – Book 2
(Barons of the Cinque Ports Series)

After witnessing the murder of the Scottish king, Isobel MacEwen is sent as her cousin’s proxy to marry the English baron, Lord Conlin de Braose. Isobel has a weakness for shoes and has learned to identify people by their shoes and way they walk. She’s seen the murderer’s shoes and now those same boots appear in England and happen to belong to Lord Conlin de Braose.

Love, murder, and mayhem are brought to the surface at the marriage of baron and a proxy with a secret love that isn’t supposed to be.

Aidan – Book 3
(MadMan MacKeefe Series)

Aidan MacKeefe is the keeper of Scotland’s coronation stone, the Stone of Destiny. He uses the stone as his pillow. Kept in secret, the stone is safe until Aidan saves Effie MacDuff from her attackers and brings her back to camp.

Effie needs to steal the Stone of Destiny to bring it to the English and save her sister’s life. But along the way she falls in love with Aidan, and her mind becomes confused.

One person is willing to die to protect Scotland’s secret, while the other is willing to betray her country to save someone she loves. But when they both let down their guard, the tables take a turn and beliefs are shattered as desires grow stronger, and someone’s destiny is bound to change.

Four Stories from Four Series. All 5* Reads.

Highland Spring - An enjoyable story about a young woman whose whole life has been based on a lie and has never been allowed to be anything but a stoic warrior. How she copes with being suddenly married and a surrogate mother and her conflicting emotions; torn between old loyalties and new. I had been waiting to find out what happened to Spring who was stolen as a baby from her family and I was not disappointed. Recommended read.

Lady Renegade - Lady Wren has a hard life, lost in a forest aged three, taken forcefully by the Scottish King as a young girl and then blinded by her foster father’s captain of the guard. However her will to survive eventually leads to her being the leader of a group of warrior women. Hunted by the authorities and in constant danger, as long as Wren has her faithful pets she is fearless but apart from them the story is quite different. Storm MacKeefe is tricked into agreeing to capture the Renegades leader, not realising that she is a woman nor that he has met her before and that his past is entwined with hers. Highly recommended.

The Baron’s Bounty - Conlin is aware that his unruly daughter needs a new mother, now that his wife has been dead more than three years and he is prepared to accept his King’s choice of an alliance with a Scot’s clan. Lady Catherine is difficult however and her illness (whether feigned or not) means that her cousin Isobel is sent to England as her proxy, with Catherine to follow on later. What however happens when Conlin and Isobel begin to have feelings for each other? Loved the heroine’s shoe fetish, amusing how she had no resistance whatsoever when shoes were in the equation, though it did mean that her cousin was able to bribe her to do anything that she herself didn’t want to do.

Aidan - a madman MacKeefe with a loose tongue and an eye for the lassies, when he set eyes on Effie he is sure that she is the woman of his dreams. Effie is descended from a famous Scotswoman who was kept prisoner in a cage by the English for 4 years and is a heroine in Scotland but what cares Effie about her heritage and being true to her roots, when her sister Coira's life is at stake. A fun read, about impossible choices; with the Stone of Destiny at the heart of the story.

Four entertaining stories with four hot heroes and their heroines. Can't decide which of the four I preferred, but if I had to pick, it would be "Aidan" - the final book. I loved Aidan MacKeefe's friendship with the two other male characters in the book - Ian and Onyx - and the strange relationship they all have with their "pets." The heroine, Effie MacDuff, is forced by the bloody English to infiltrate the MacKeefe Clan and find the Stone of Destiny and return it to the English. Her motives are good, because she is trying to save her sister, Coira, who is being kept prisoner by the English. Aidan thinks Effie is his "Dream Angel," and promptly falls for her. She, in turn, has deep regard for him and also begins to fall in love with him, all the time realizing that she is going to betray him and his clan. Aidan and Effie get captured, escape, get captured again and so on and so on. But all's well that ends well and I would recommend this book. "Baron's Bounty," the third book in the series is a little weird, in that the heroine, Isobel MacEwen, has a love affair going on with, of all things, shoes. There's not a shoe she hasn't seen that she doesn't love. This certainly is a different twist to usual Highlander books. Because of her fascination with shoes, she winds up going to meet her cousin's fiancee and plays a proxy role not only in marrying him, Baron Conlin De Braose, but actually consummating the marriage on the cousin's behalf in order to fulfill the alliance with Scotland and the Barons of the Cinque Ports. I've never read about the Cinque Ports Barons, so enjoyed getting to meet the heroes of this area. This book has nothing to do with the other three and happens more than 75 years before the others. So no need to worry about figuring out which characters were from the other stories. The first and second book, "Highland Spring" and "Lady Renegade," are also enjoyable. Feel free to put down your reader at the end of any of the books. They don't have to be read one after the other and each is a stand alone book.

I cannot wait to read more by this author! THE BARON'S BOUNTY Loved Isabel. She has a shoe addiction! She knows people by their shoes and their walk. She witnesses a murder. You will love this page turner! Elizabeth Rose can transport you back in time with her wonderful writing! LADY RENEGADE wonderful series full of history. will transport you back in time. Losing her family at age 3, she is fostered with an English Lord when his wife finds her in the woods. Wren who is blind and Storm are wonderful characters. You will love this page turner!

I couldn't decide which of the four stories was my favorite because they were all very good. All these women had faced some type of adversity in their lives and one by one, they all managed to conquer it. I thought each novel was very well written and well researched. Each story moved very fast leading to a very exciting climax. I guess I had to pick one story above all of them it would be lady Renegade because she is all people had the greatest adversity to overcome with her blindness. I felt it remarkable her talent for seeing through her animals eyes and being able to lead a group of women warriors despite her disability. However, all four novels we're good in their own way. It was problematic being a woman in the Middle Ages. But all four of these women manage to overcome whatever life threw at them. I can't wait to see what happens with Ian.

Elizabeth writes of strong women and the men they tame. Effie is forced to do something against her beliefs to save her sister. Aiden stops Effie from being assaulted and takes her to his home. Read their story and see what happens.

Shoes and the Crazy Cousin

Good book. Had some excitement and surprises. A
lot of action. Just one little thing, one of the characters was in the water for awhile and it was a cold stormy night. Yet no hypothermia.
