This was the first time in reading this author with the story pulling me in. The characters Max and Crystal will take you on quite the adventure in this one. Max is quite the character in himself who will pick your curiosity. He finds out soon enough though what we want and what we get are two different things it seems all the times especially where people are concerned. He will also have a very interesting partner Crystal, along with others that will aid in the adventure. They are unique in them

The beginning of this book is very slow. The leaps they make and abrupt personality changes can be confusing. The "team" dynamic is a joke and they're lucky they haven't died yet on one of their missions. The he-man crap is extremely annoying. Now that we got all that out of the way. I love that they bring small elements of (this book verse's) science to explain possibilities for their evolution. Not having a spandex costume was amusing given the snark. I did not expect the Second. I couldn't pu

I really enjoyed reading Genesis. I liked Max and Crystal's story. I felt the story was unique. I was engaged from the first page until the last page. The plot moved along at a steady pace. I liked Max because he didn't decide to fit into his father's mold. He wasn't greedy and he wasn't a guy that had an agenda. I liked Crystal because she was strong and brought out the best in Max. She was not scared to do what she felt was right. I would recommend Genesis to others. I can't wait to read the n

This was a light, quick read with great spinoff/series potential. It's the origin story for a team of super heroes in the Pacific Northwest and has a good balance of romance & action. A little tropey at times, but if you appreciate it for what it is--a comic book brought to life--it's a lot of fun! Ms. Alexander's writing is quirky, fast-paced, and filled with humor. There's a flogger, a yoga ball, and a Pomeranian, and none of them are used the way you'd expect. :)

Well, that was fun! This book’s cover drew me in, the description made me want to read it, and it was right up my alley. Full of fantasy and attraction and action. I love the premise of super powers. And the tension between Max and Crystal is through the roof. Was it plausible? Not always. But it was very entertaining and I loved Max learning there’s more to life than making his father pay. Just joined the author’s newsletter so I’ll know when the next story is out. I have to keep reading becaus

This is an awesome story. Very intense with great characters who are the most compassionate group of "misfits" to the world they live in yet wholeheartedly determined to help & protect the world they live in. Seemed so realistic even with the supernatural aspects. Very well written, gripping, emotional and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from author.
