This self-paced introduction to financial accounting presents the ideas and terminology essential to an understanding of balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows. This engaging text is aimed at the active user of business data. "Essentials of Accounting" requires readers to solve accounting problems, based on the author's belief that this is the most effective way to understand the meaning and use of accounting information.
Good teaching of accounting basics in a learn-by-doing workbook. Starts with basic concepts, journal entries, the general ledger, and covers the various financial statements - balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows, as well as the relationships among them. But, I don't like the formatting of the book (each half of the book is printed upside down from each other other, so you have to flip the book if you want to read something from the other half, such as referencing the exhibits) and some of the concepts could have been made clearer.
A good start for totally beginner in finance/investment/business. This books gives essential knowledge of accounting: - 3 financial report - accounting concept - basic analysis
