For anyone ever captivated by one of the great symphonies, concertos, or other masterworks of music, here is an essential guide book that privides fresh, informative descriptions of 279 of the most frequently performed classics.
I like this textbook which tells what was happening when various classical music was composed or was popular. I only read 5 pages most nights and listen to the concert discussed. I don't necessarily read it in order. I finished Brandenburg Concerto and liked the antidotes.
Right now I have put it aside to read Kill Switch which I rented; My library didn't have it. But I will definitely return to it and maybe finish it someday. I like the book a lot but don't care if I finish it.
