Nothing memorable about the stories in this collection. They weren't awful, just nothing to highly recommend either. Reading these did help me realize how short-story writers such as Alice Munro or Dorthe Nors have simply taken the craft to unreachable heights.

All of the stories were powerful and dealt with a female character at a pivotal point in her life, with a focus on her relationships. Very beautiful writing, I highly recommend.

I got the idea for reading Molly Giles from Amy Tan. I 19m reading in this anthology 1CYou 19ve Got To Read This 1D Amy Tan was inspired by Molly Giles in a writer 19s workshop she attended at Squaw Valley. Recommended to me by a graduate student who was impressed by them, Molly Giles' stories are terrific. The writing is deliberate in its pacing, the language is perfect and unadorned. These stories are excellent examples of smart structuring. Most of all, these stories are humane. Well worth reading, both for pleasure and for study.

Amazing group of stories of interesting and unique women, some you may recognize in your own life. The stories are extremely well-written that if I weren't busy with work I would have read them in one day. This is a must read story collection!

This collection is amazing. Flannery O'Connor Award winner, and deservedly so. Each story seemed perfect in its symmetry and rhythm and poignant triviality. I loved it. Will return to it later.
