Recommended to me by a graduate student who was impressed by them, Molly Giles' stories are terrific. The writing is deliberate in its pacing, the language is perfect and unadorned. These stories are excellent examples of smart structuring. Most of all, these stories are humane. Well worth reading, both for pleasure and for study.
