This is a very quick and easy read, but it is full of tips and ideas that are profound and helpful. Many of those tips and ideas are things most of us already know subconsciously. When I read them here they were brought to the surface and I realized how many of them I may have stopped emphasizing in my daily interactions.
This is a great refresher for current managers that aren't seeing the results they need and want in their day to day interactions. It is also great for new management and leadership team members as an early guide and a resource they can go back to when in difficult times and situations.
It's a 39 page book and I took 3 pages of notes. It has a lot to say in 39 pages. I am looking forward to comparing notes with the rest of our management team to hear their take-aways.
Great reminder for why we do this and what it means.
This was a great read. First chapter goes slow, but in hindsight is a great starting point. All of the topics we’ve already know as leaders, but it gives a fresh or new perspective to those points and a reminder to see those topics we have neglected due to our busy days.
I recommend this for team members looking to advance or new assistant managers / managers. Most of this was pretty straight forward If you’ve been in a management position long enough.
Great quick read for any supervisor, manager, or anyone in a place of leadership. Do you want to know what your employees are looking for in you? This spells it out.
This is most basic book on being a manager I've ever read. I hesitate to put it on my list, but if you don't know the concepts presented in this book you should read it. The best thing about this book is imagining the scenarios presented as short films you might see on IFC someday.
