I was given a copy of this book as a Christmas gift from a co-worker & one of my best buddies a lady that has CP. My best buddy is non verbal but she would say GeGe which was translated to GiGi. The book was really well written and a little girl would love to have it read to her. Every once in a while I will read it b/c it gives me fond memories of all the adventures I enjoyed with my best buddy when I use to work with her.
Doesn’t every little girl like to believe she is a princess? This book takes that childhood dream and uses it to remind us of 1 John 5:1. Of course, in her childish way, Gigi confuses the riches we inherit in Christ with earthly riches. That makes this a story that will capture a child’s interest and help open a discussion of this Biblical promise. I think another important lesson this book teaches is a Biblical view of others. While we, as pictured in Gigi, are often quite sure of our own worth, we fail to see others, pictured in Frances, as equal in God’s eyes. This story beautifully demonstrates a child becoming aware of everyone's equality before God. The illustrations are full of the play and energy of youth. The pink tones will endear it to any little girl.
This was an easy to read bedtime story. My mother bought it for my daughter a while back. Since my daughter believes she is a princess and she calls my mother G-G instead of grandma it was the perfect book. The illustration was great and the phrasing was easy for a child to understand. The concept of God as the king of all towards the end was hard for my 4 year old to grasp, I think this is a book that takes several readings and explanations. For that reason it is a definite keeper.
A cute story about how Gigi comes to understand exactly what kind of princess she is (God's princess). The illustrations are mainly in shades of pink, black and gray, maybe to underline the princess-ness of the story, but more color would have been nice. Good for pre-school and early elementary children.
Gigi, a little girl who just decides she's a princess and must have her Pink Palace for her birthday gift -- she's the daughter of the greatest King of all - illustrations are adorable as well as the characters!
My daughter and I really both enjoyed this book. The story was very cute and Gigi was a believable character. I think as my daughter (who just turned 4) gets older her understanding of the message of the book will deepen, but even now it's just a fun story for her.
A nice variation on the princess story books. Gigi knows she is a princess as her Dad tells her every night. She discovers in this story that every little girl is a princess in God's kingdom. Fun, light but with true religious background.
I loved the ending of this book because I thought it was funny when Gigi thought her friend was going to faint when she figured out she was a princess to.

I decided to try the book after getting a "Gigli" DVD at a garage sale. My daughter(3.5 years old) loves the simple story in the DVD. So I was going in hyped up to read the book to her! I wasn't dissatisfied and my daughter was glued to the story, which is the same as the DVD about how every little girl is a princess of God's.
Gigli is a little girl who pretends in every way that she is a princess. The story follows her discovery that not just her but every girl is God's Princess. The pictures are fun and do really great job of catching the attention of younger little girl such as my daughter to Mom who also looked over the pictures while reading.
If you have a little girl who loves all things Princess to just needs to know she is special this book is a wonderful way to sit down and read & talk about it.
This is a book I will want for my children to my grandchildren because of wonderful story and pictures!
