Read this reverse harem fantasy filled with adventure, romance, revolutionary songs, and more.
As the bastard child of parents who weren’t kindred souls, Rhapsody has spent her life on the move, music her only companion as she makes her way as a traveling bard who sings out against the king’s law. A law that makes it illegal to marry anyone but your kindred soul.
But when a trio of assassins sent by the king to silence her invades her camp one night, they’re unable to finish the job, declaring her their kindred.
Rhapsody never thought she’d find hers, much less three of them, and she certainly isn’t interested in having her freedom and choices stripped away by the bond.
The problem is, she may need them to stay alive because they weren’t the only ones the king sent after her.
Unable to deny or fight the attraction she feels for them, Rhapsody faces her most difficult choice yet --- run as far and fast as she can or accept the three assassins as hers.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a reverse harem novel where the leading lady doesn’t have to choose between love interests. The series will have MM and FF and a mix of the two action. This novel has mature sexual content, graphic language, and is not meant for anyone under the age of 18 or those who are offended by any of the above.
An expert in parkour, Helene Gadot moonlights as a Nail Polish Namer and occasional ghostwriter. She lives with her husband and trio of rugrats in the South. Helene has a serious coffee mug and throw pillow addiction, and when she isn't reading or writing, she's probably shopping online.
This book counts towards my Reverse Harem Revolution Bingo 📖 Challenge. Insta- love or Insta Connection. 1.5 stars Absolute drivel, happy it was free KU. Will not continue.
It's not a bad story but it doesn't really seem resolved at the end. The set up for the characters meeting feels contrived at It's conclusion because it doesn't feel satisfactorily resolved. There's a difference between making sacrifice for the people you love and giving up your core beliefs to be who you think your partner wants you to be. The former isn't necessarily unhealthy, the latter most definitely is. The story lost it's appeal for me after falling into the latter category.
Rhapsody spends her days railing against the injustice of the law, alone and persecuted, until the day three assassins are sent to silence her only to realise that she is their kindred mate. There is an insta bond, but, thankfully, no insta love. We do get gentleness, caring and lust, and just a bit of rough play. And there is also some M/M action, and true to all good RH’s, some group action.
Gadot has created a world that is believable in how it is portrayed. And I liked that Gadot had Rhapsody fighting to remain true to her convictions in the face of her new reality; too often the MC does a 180 at the first sign of her mates or men.
A few grammatical errors but that is becoming commonplace with new releases, and in Her Assassins they are minor enough to be able to ignore them.
I really enjoyed this quick read about Rhapsody and her kindred mates and am looking forward to book two.
I hate writing reviews that aren't positive but I probably wouldn't have read this book had I have read a few more reviews, I write them so other readers can judge whether they want to risk a read or not.
So, I rated this book a two because I did finish the book, but I will not be continuing the series. To be honest the end of the book pretty much snuck up on me. I read this a lot slower than I usually read books too! It just stopped, no beginning, middle or end really.
It is just lacking for me, there is absolutely no story progression. The storyline is not tied up, nor does it suggest how it will progress in the next book...namely because nothing happens.
The character are not developed, and I know very little about them even the main character after completing the first book. I wouldn't say there was a great deal of world-building either so it was impossible to really imagine anything about this book.
It's a story that's been floating around the genre and rewritten dozens of times: fiesty girl in woods meets destined mates she doesn't want but learns to trust. Only this time it's FANTASTIC. 'Her Assassins' takes the time to get to know each character as individuals before making them declare love. They each have their own dreams, secrets, and expectations that sometimes clash with each other and makes for a very entertaining read. My only serious complaint is that it feels like it ended too soon, but with the next book already out I'll be able to get my next fix it Rhapsody, Sky, Whist, and Saber in no time at all.
This was a short, hot read! I really enjoyed this world. I would like to continue reading about these characters and the world that Helene brought to life. I liked her other series so I decided to read more by this author. I don’t regret it! This book was very interesting. I like the idea of “kindred.” I hope that this is a prequel to a series that I’m missing. I haven’t researched it yet but I will!
I wanted a better plot as basically nothing happens. There is some action but without a plot arc, so all the book was fairlly bland. It lacked suspense and barely succeeded.in capturing my attention.
I would have preferred a more in depth explanation why Rhapsody was so against kindreds. The author skimmed the surface with this explanation so it seemed a very shallow decision based solely on her parents' experience.
I’ve heard whispers of this book recommended from people so I figured I’d give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised! Rhapsody is intriguing, the assassins are badasses but also sweet and clearly very fed up with the current political climate. Sure there are some plot threads that need work but if you can overlook that just enjoy a fun read, this is definitely one. Looking forward to reading the second book.
This was an interesting read. Gadot has created an original and interesting world. Rhapsody is unique and I liked that she is a bard. I liked that although there is an instant bond, it’s not quite love. I liked the guys, but i had a difficult time believing they would just change their lives so instantly. Overall, I did like the story and will be watching for book 2.
For some reason, our intrepid *snort* heroine seems to feel making impulsive, stupid decisions proves her free choice --in reality, she seems childish and combative because she wants her way. Peppered with typos, this was an okay read, but I disliked her petulant behavior which potentially put others in harm's way.
I absolutely loved Her Assassins! The connection between Rhapsody and her men is so heartwarming and amazing. This book has danger, adventure, love, darkness, hope, and really everything you could want from a fantastic book! I can't wait to see where the series goes!
Gotta love assassins. This time there’s three of them. Whistler, Saber and Sky on a mission to kill a travelling bard, only to find out they’re kindred. Favourite character was Whistler. Only thing I didn’t like was the MC playing hard to get. Ooh contains a bit of M/M too, which is always a bonus.
I can not wait for more. Rhapsody and her merry band of assassins have worked their way into my heart. I'll be following this author so I know when the next one comes out!
@@@@@SPOILER@@@@@ When you live in a world of fated mates do you run towards them or away as fast as you can? This first novel explores this idea and lays the groundwork for many upcoming novels.
I normally pay attention but I got caught on this one. Luckily the 1st book was .99 cents. The next 1 is $2.99. I despise authors who rip people off like this. 127 pages for $2.99???? Really???? Thief!!!!!!!!!! Scammer!!!!!! 😠
This gave me so much happiness. From the first page I was enraptured and eager to find out what will happen next. I loved the story and plot and each of the assassins.
Sweet beginning for this series! I love the badassery of the main characters and I can't wait to see how their story unfolds! Can't wait to learn more about how kindred spirits work and if there is more mystery to it all!
I liked it. I had some spelling errors but no biggie. A fun and steamy romance with likeable characters. Has some slight mm action if that's your thing
This was a fun and quick read for me. I’m a big music lover and I loved how it was written here. Rhapsody and her assassins are a bunch of fun to read to be sure.
