From New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan comes a sexy new standalone romance about a woman who’d do anything to have a baby and the man who’d do anything to have her…

For my 30th birthday, I’m giving myself the one thing I want most: a baby. Sure, this would be easier if I had a husband—or even a boyfriend—but I refuse to be thwarted by minor details.

I really liked this book!

Jake and Ava have been friends since they were kids. They've been through tough and happy times together. Ava recently turned 30 and is decided to have a baby, even if it means doing it alone. She's always wanted a family but up until then it hasn't happened and she feels her biological clock is ticking. She drunkenly asks Jake for his help and he sees this as an opportunity to show his feelings for her. He's loved her for so long and would do anything for her. He's so

”I can either watch her have some other man’s baby, or I can watch her have mine.” I shrug. Honestly, once that became the crossroads in my mind, my decision was clear. Offering to give Ava a baby is the biggest gamble of my life. But is it really a gamble, given the alternative?

Oh my, I think Straight Up Love is by far the best written story where babies are involved. If you know me well, I’m not a big fan of babies or kids or anything alike, s

"I want all the things I've spent years aching for and denied myself."

I am just so in love with this series. I enjoy these brothers very much, and the love they give and the support they show for everyone is smile inducing. It really is! With each book, I find myself falling deeper in love with another man from the Jackson family. So far, each book has been a journey, saturated with emotions and feelings I didn't see coming. Jake is the best friend of best friends...and you c

I wasn't feeling the book. From the first chapter, I got the feeling that the two of us wouldn't work out and unfortunately that became true. I couldn't get into the story and I didn't like Ava. At first I was neutral, but later on I couldn't understand her or like her. I liked Jake more. He is a good guy and I felt sorry for him because Ava didn't feel the same way about him. I was not happy with him after a certain flashback though and it sucked because I was rooting for him.

After reading and finishing book one I was intrigued about Jake and Ava.

I love best friends to romance stories.

I did enjoy this book a bit more than book one in this series.

I know these books can be read as standalones but I wanted to start from the beginning of the series.

I really liked the first chapters of the book and the build up of this book of the characters getting together and waiting for them to admit their true feelings but then I lost interest towards the end because I got bored B

I feel as though I spent most of this book torn between which of the main characters I felt worse for.

There ended up being a little more angst to the story then I was expecting, and yet it was a book I could easily pick back up when life forced me to tear myself away. I personally ended up being a huge fan of Jake. Even in his mistakes he ultimately put the person he loved first. There were moments when I'll admit I was frustrated and wanted to throw my kindle. Jake was the kind of guy who dese

Oh my word, was this book GOOD!!! This was the PERFECT friends to lovers romance but it was made even better by how complicated and messy it was. The friendship between Ava and Jake is so sweet and so dependable but their undeniable chemistry and the quiet longing between them was just... ugh. It was everything. Watching these two circumnavigate the chaotic emotions they feel for each other while trying to maintain the friendship that they both rely on was both deliciously frustrating a

After reading the chapter sneak peek for Straight Up Love in the first book of this series, I knew I was going to love it and could not wait to get my hands on it and read it. I am a sucker for friends to lovers novels and even more so when they become our baby daddies, and they do it not because you asked but because deep down they love you and would do anything for you. That is the tale of Straight Up Love; we have best friends since school Ava and Jake. For as long as he can remember, Jake ha

I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

My review:

First of all, I would like to thank Lexi Ryan and the Social Butterfly PR team for this ARC.

Straight Up Love is the second book of Lexi’s new series, The Boys of Jackson Harbor. We follow the story of Ava and Jake Jackson (Ethan’s brother).

Ava and Jake are best friends since forever. They grew up together, work together and share the most of their life together.

But Jake has been in love with Ava

I am just loving this serious. I adore the characters, especially the Jackson family. Straight Up Love is a best friends to lovers romance which is one of my favorite stories to read. And Lexi Ryan did not disappoint.

Ava is celebrating her 30th birthday and she realizes how much she wants to be a mother and that time may be running out. She has been burned in the past and has every intention of having a baby and doing it all on her own. Her determination and courage

Oh where do I start with this review! I'm a total sucker for this trope, first of all. Friends to lovers and second chance romances are some of my favorite books to read. Couple that with Lexi's story telling and writing and you have GOLD!

Oh how I know what it's like to be Ava. As I personally was approaching my 30's I wanted nothing more then to have kids, mostly so I wasn't too old to keep up with them as they grew up. So as her 30th birthday dawns Ava wants nothing more then to have a baby. S

Ava wants a baby badly, but her relationship status is not promising. Deciding she doesn’t need a man to have a baby on her own, she begins concocting plans to use a sperm donor. But a drunken request to her best friend has her plans changing, with the possibility of a known donor.

Jake Jackson’s feelings for Ava are the worst kept secret in the Jackson family. Though his siblings may all know his feelings, he has kept them hidden from Ava herself. Her request that he father her child opens up a

See, there was some twists in here that had me wanting to throw the kindle while I was reading. I wanted to throw up with what I thought was happening. I really shouldn't have doubted Lexi Ryan's story telling abilities. This turned out just perfect :) I kind of want Jake for myself LOL And I can't wait to read what is going to happen in the lives of the rest of the Jackson boys, and Molly LOL

I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.

Ever since embarking on Lexi Ryan's newest fictional story and meeting the hot, mouth watering Jackson brothers in The Wrong Kind Of Love, I was more than ready to get know more about the angsty, sexually charged best friends Jake and Ava and watch their sparks ignite in Straight Up Love. She wants a baby. He wants her.
What are they willing to do for their own agendas?

Ava McKinley is sweet, dependable, awkward, and insecure. She's the good girl who always wanted Daddy's approval, but always felt second best. She had a crush on Jake way back then, but buried her feelings. Now she is divorced, and worried her dreams will not come true. She just wants a baby, even if she has to have it alone. Sexual tension at maximum extreme!!!

Straight Up Love was a straight up knockout! I didn’t think the author could possibly manage to surpass the excellence that was The Wrong King of Love, but she did. Oh boy, did she ever! This friends-to-lovers romance puts itself in its own new category of unrequited love, unbearable longing, and unrelenting affection…this book is so sweet and savory, you won’t be able to put it down!

Jake and Ava were extraordinary! Their entire relationship was a sizzling mix

5* Read.
This is book two in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series but can be read as a standalone. When I read the first book in this series I completly fell in love with Jackson family and I have to admit I wasn't sure if any other book in the series could live up to The wrong kind of love which is book one in this series. I just fell in love with the first book and I didn't think any others could live up to the hype in my mind that I had of it. I'm glad to say I was wrong and I again fell in love

Jake has been in love with his best friend Ava for years. But their relationship has been stuck at strictly platonic until Ava drunkly requests his help in getting pregnant. Jake takes this as his last chance to win Ava's heart. So he agrees to help - with the caveat that the do it "the old fashioned way". As things heat up between them, it becomes apparent that their relationship won't come out of this unchanged.

This was a mind blowing friends to lovers story. Jake and Ava have been best friends forever but have been secretly in love with each other but never revealed anything to the other. The only clueless ones were they because everyone else could see it.

Ava turned 30 and wanted a baby for her birthday but she didn’t have a significant other and didn’t want to either. She was thinking of going to a fertility place but one drunken night she told Jake she wanted his baby. He gave it serious thought and

Straight up Love is book two in the Jackson boy’s series. This book brings us best friends Jake and Ava. Ava has decided she wants a baby. It is not going to happen with the endless string of losers she dates. She hatches a plan to get a donor but her friends suggest Jake. Jake would literally do anything for Ava. He has been in love with her for years. Unfortunately, the one time he tried to take his shot, the timing was bad and she rejected him. Jake initially turns her request down but change ...more

Straight Up Love was an enjoyable read but it didn’t WOW me like the first book in this series did.

I have to say that Jake saved this story for me. I liked Ava in the beginning of the story but as things moved on I found Ava to be slightly annoying and I just wanted to shake her and say wake up!!!

I was totally looking forward to this story after reading The Wrong Kind of Love (Book 1). Ava and Jake’s story was set up in

This series is about to tear me up. In the best way possible, of course. Lexi Ryan has created yet another stellar world built on fantastic characters, emotional plots, unexpected twists, and incredibly sexy passion. Straight Up Love is all that and more. This is the 2nd installment of the boys of Jackson Harbor and I must say that this second book was a lot more steamier than the first.
