This is a great series and I read this book throughout the night ... yup I’m one hit. 4.5 stars for me ....so close !
It’s beautifully written, the characters are perfectly developed and the flow and feeling is genuine. I forget they’re wares and simply consider them a version of Little House on the Prairie !
While the focus was on Martha and the lunatic beta vs the delightful Joe there was also focus on Caleb & Jacobs relationship, Ephraims pain and Thad’s teenage angst. I really loved it and h ...more

This is a must read series. Start at the beginning and just fall in love with Caleb and Jacob.

This was a good continuation of the epic tale of the Homestead. Don't be fooled by the blurb into thinking this is a m/f romance. While it does center a lot (maybe a smidge too much) on Martha's coming of age, the story is still about how Caleb and Jacob deal with their children growing up and their relationship as they continually re-adjust to new normals. Change is really, really hard for Caleb.

I found this book to be both wonderful and....frustrating. Caleb and Jacob aren't as focused on as I wish they would have been. And when they are Caleb with the constant doubts was...not quite right. Like the last book there is relatively very little on page sex in this book. I know that life and years make a dent in intimacy but this book really had very little personally sexually intimate moments with Jacob and Caleb. I felt like they were a bit disconnected from each other, sadly. Also, like the last book, the author seems to struggle to make the relationships (beside Caleb and Jacob), really seem strong and enduring. Martha made me cringe for her which then made the ending seem so, so luke warm and shallow. While none of the relationships are as strongly written as Caleb and Jacob in book one and two, even as I say that the love and family is strong in this series; it's heartwarming and comfort food and warm fires and strong hugs all at once.

I spent the whole book waiting for some interaction between Ephraim and Joshua and find myself irritated that we got zero resolution to Ephraim's issue, especially after what Martha encountered in the saloon.

I did LOVE the way the other pack was dealt with. No long drawn out crap or big surprises. Just finally Caleb doing something and being clear headed and calculating and confident.

Information at the back of the book indicates there are two more books left in the series and we don't get to Ephraim until the last book, however, this info also indicated that the next book involves a tragedy . Seriously, just Rebel the dog getting old broke me down in this book...I don't think my heart could take what a tragedy could possibly be - so I'll have to really consider if this is where I might just let my imagination run with the Fletcher-Carpenter family homestead epic tale of life and love. ...more

4.5 stars from me. First of all, a big 😗 to Alex for the story. I couldn't wait to read about how the kids had matured during the time that Martha was away in New York, studying to be a doctor.

Alex has really thrown everything but the kitchen sink into these latest two instalments of the series. We had Malcolm in Longing for Shelter who was part Native American, we have Martha in this instalment who is just like her Aunt Sarah...strong, intelligent but stubborn to a fault [and bearing in mind wh ...more

I absolutely adore the Alpha’s Homestead series. I can not rate it highly enough and I’ve been eagerly awaiting the next instalment.
I must admit though when I saw that this book was Martha’s story I wasn’t sure what to expect. I barely read any MF these days but it’s more Homestead so I couldn’t not read it. But I needn’t have worried as this definitely isn’t MF.

You know that feeling on a cold winters day when you’re snuggled under a blanket with a hot chocolate? That’s the feeling I got while reading Home in The Heart. It felt like one big snuggle but with a bit of tension thrown in.
I loved returning to the Homestead and seeing where the family are now in their lives. And like all good families they make me smile and make we wanna scream in equal measure.

Caleb and Jacob are still as loved up as ever. That’s not to say their relationship isn’t tense or fraught at times. There was one particular scene that I really wasn’t sure they’d be able to come back from but their love is so solid I shouldn’t have doubted.
This book focused on Caleb as much as Martha. Bless him he loves his family so much but that feeds into his fears and insecurities. He’s so worried about the children getting older, leaving home and what comes next for them it clouds his judgement at times. I wanted to scream at him to stop being so alpha at times. Though that does come in handy when having to see off a new pack who comes to town with bad intentions.
I really felt for Ephraim. He’s struggling with a broken heart and dealing with his moody teenage brother. I’m looking forward to his book. I wonder if he ever feels stuck on the homestead.
And then there’s little Tad. He’s been my favourite character as soon as he arrived. Now he’s a difficult teenager. Violent moody swings - lashing out one minute and then crying & wanting cuddles the next are plaguing him. Normally teenage behaviour made worse as he’s struggling to make his first transition into his Wolf form. And when he does - wow! It has left Caleb so worried for his little Piggy. I have a feeling Tad’s book is gonna be sooo good. Tense but good. Eagerly awaiting that one.

Overall another fantastic read from Alex Jane. Exactly what was I hoping for in a Homestead book. ...more

Another solid entry in this series -- and unfortunately for me, the last book that I can read for a while. I mean, I read all four stories within the span of four days, and now I have to wait for the next book *sigh*.

There's a time jump from book #, Longing for Shelter, it has now been 12 years since Caleb and Jacob started as a couple, Martha has recently finished her study although she has the offer to pursue two more years of education. Then there's a new threat from a new pack.

I loved how M Another solid entry in this series -- and unfortunately for me, the last book that I can read for a while. I mean, I read all four stories within the span of four days, and now I have to wait for the next book *sigh*.

I loved how Martha has grown up here -- sure, there's the short FOOLISH behavior she does when she thinks she falls in love for the first time. But the little girl that used to cling to Caleb is now a quite competent healer.

Despite her being sole human in the Fletcher-Carpenter family, but she also knows how to deal with other wolves, having two Alphas as fathers, a Beta for older brother, and another Alpha for younger brother. I am proud of Martha's achievement. I think she can go far ... and this is written in that period of time where, well, successful career women might be far and between.

Of course we have other updates with the family -- like Thaddeus finally transforms into wolf (view spoiler) and Ephraim who has his heart broken because the man that he has loved all his life has decided to pursue marriage with a girl -- PS. I cannot WAIT to read his book, I imagine (view spoiler) will need to crawl for Ephraim's forgiveness! Also, Peter has married himself, while Seth and Malcolm look pretty happy together after 8 years together.

The only thing that I feel rather disappointed with is the fact that Martha's romance with (view spoiler) stays rather in the background. Maybe because this is meant to be an MM series, so her romance with a man doesn't fit? It's too bad because I think it has the potential of being a very lovely, tender, friends-to-lovers MF romance. ...more

I know this wasn’t considered a MF book, but I wish the scene when Martha found her true mate wasn’t brushed under the rug the way it was. As much as I don’t like to read about girly bits, it could have been beautiful instead of being distilled into an unfeeling paragraph. Another Epic Chapter in the Series

This time it is Martha's story. She has finished her education in New York but now wants to study abroad. This news sends shock waves through the family, Caleb taking the news harder than the others. As if this wasn't enough to deal with, a new pack has moved into town, causing problems for the humans and the Alphas homestead.

The Blogger Girls

I really love this series and it all stems from my love for Caleb and Jacob, beginning from book one. I think what I love most is that each installment is a continuation of their family dynamics and not necessarily all new people. In this case, I was hesitant to read it because I’d just assumed it was a MF book mixed into the middle of a MM series, but that was not really the case, at all. Yes, Martha is the main character, but there is plenty of Caleb and Jacob, some mystery a The Blogger Girls

I really love this series and it all stems from my love for Caleb and Jacob, beginning from book one. I think what I love most is that each installment is a continuation of their family dynamics and not necessarily all new people. In this case, I was hesitant to read it because I’d just assumed it was a MF book mixed into the middle of a MM series, but that was not really the case, at all. Yes, Martha is the main character, but there is plenty of Caleb and Jacob, some mystery about Ephraim and his apparent broken heart over his best friend, and even Thad will be matched with a male. Speaking of Thad, he was an interesting twist and I look forward to seeing how his story plays out.

Martha is the adopted daughter, along with Thad and Ephraim, of Caleb and Jacob, and very integral to the entire storyline. In this case, she is returning home after being away to study to be a doctor, her passion for as long as she could remember. Caleb has always been the rough, gruff and stubborn father (between him and Jacob) and Martha takes after him completely, so these butt heads, a lot. At the same time, the pack is worried about a new pack that moved into the area and fear a confrontation is imminent…and stubborn and headstrong Martha is in the middle of it. Martha is very contrary and not wholly likeable, but by the end I was accepting that she was just brain dead for half of the book.

I’d always liked Martha, but for someone so smart, she was about as dumb as a bag of rocks when it came to men and relationships. Yes, she was virtuous and was never in a relationship before, but she allowed herself to be treated like crap and that irked me to no end. She was all fire and fury with everyone else, but accepted Alfred’s treatment as if it was just the way it was supposed to be. In one way, I understand why she didn’t notice Joe, but in another she really didn’t deserve him either. I have a difficult time with violence and she was way out of line by slapping him in the face…twice…just because she was having a bad day? I don’t buy it and that almost ruined her for me. But, I got over it.

I am really looking forward to Ephraim’s story and I am bummed that it is not next, but I know it will be after Thad’s, and I like having something to look forward to. I also love checking in with both Jacob and Caleb..they may fight, literally, but they have a love that will stand the test of time and I never worry about them and that’s refreshing.

Overall Impression: I really liked it! ...more

Martha is back home after finishing her studies to become a doctor in New York and she brings a surprise visitor with her. She's set on going to study abroad and the fact that Thaddeus is out of control and Ephraim is in pain after his boyfriend broke things off with him, have Caleb feeling inadequate as a father. Add to that, a new pack settling in the town's vicinity and Caleb and Jacob's relationship starts to suffer under the stress.

My heart absolutely broke for Caleb. He was insecure and feeling like he'd somehow failed his children and I can empathize with that. Perhaps it was a bit over the top sometimes, but really, a lot was going on at the same time. I just can't blame him for how he acted. While Jacob was supportive of him most of the time, the stress of it all was too much even for him at times. The struggle felt very realistic all things considered.

The Thaddeus storyline was great, although I'm very curious how it will play out in book 5. I would've liked to read more about Ephraim, but I guess with him getting his own book (#6), it makes sense that we didn't get as much about him in this one.

While I've liked Martha in the previous books, I was a bit disappointed by how annoying she was in this one. She acted like a spoiled brat with Caleb when he dared suggest that she stayed and I just wanted to slap her, but it only got worse when she met Albert, a member of the new pack that came into town and despite him being so rude from the start, she was all ga-ga for him and actually defied her fathers and had resolved to give up her career to be with him. Grrr!!! And while it was obvious that Joe, her best friend from when they were little, was in love with her, the whole bit at the end, felt so rushed. I would've liked a bit more development there.

The North Pack storyline was interesting and I liked the way it was dealt with, without too much drama and with such a satisfying conclusion. I loved the scene at the saloon!

Overall, this was a very solid continuation to the series. The writing was great, as always, and I love this 'verse that Ms. Jane has built. Caleb and Jacob are awesome and it was great catching up with some of the supporting characters. Very recommendable to fans of the series!

I loved this new book in the Alphas' Homestead saga, which focuses on Martha's return home from studying medicine in New York - although I'll admit there were a few times when I wanted someone to throw her into the creek!

The heart of these books and this family are Caleb and Jacob, and their relationship is so beautifully shown; they don't always agree, and on one occasion here they have a huge fight, but they always support each other and their love story comes across as realistic as well as b I loved this new book in the Alphas' Homestead saga, which focuses on Martha's return home from studying medicine in New York - although I'll admit there were a few times when I wanted someone to throw her into the creek!

The heart of these books and this family are Caleb and Jacob, and their relationship is so beautifully shown; they don't always agree, and on one occasion here they have a huge fight, but they always support each other and their love story comes across as realistic as well as beautiful. The sex scenes between them are intimate rather than full-on, which again makes their relationship so real and true.

In this book, Caleb feels like he is losing his children, and that he's failed as a parent in some way because Ephraim is unhappy, Tad is having trouble shifting and Martha wants to go away to continue her studies. He feels even worse when Tad finally shifts into his wolf - there's a big surprise in store for all of them when his wolf is a female! - and Martha declares that she's fallen in love with a wolf from the new pack in town and is going to marry him.

Martha is a little annoying, but she's not the first person to fall for a handsome charmer with bad intentions. Thankfully, she realises what Albert is like before she gets too embroiled with him and his nasty little pack leader. I admire her spirit, and I liked her relationships with all the men in her life - her dads, her brothers, her grandfather and, of course, her best friend Joe. And what a sweet ending that was with Joe proposing to her and offering to travel to Edinburgh with her. Lovely.

The reveal that Tad's wolf is female was great; I expected this to be a bad thing and was pleasantly surprised that it's the opposite, and that Tad is a born leader who will be respected and revered. Poor Caleb's anxiety about losing his youngest boy was understandable, and I loved the conversations between Caleb and his dad about the joys and trials of parenthood.

I could go on, but the best thing about this book is that when I finished it, I still felt like I was there with all the wonderful characters. And now I'm missing them all so much - I'm pleased and excited to know there will be two more books in the series.

Having had the opportunity to read this pre-publishing, I took great pleasure in revisiting Martha's installment of the Homestead Series.

Home in your Heart is a fantastic continuation of not just the Homestead Series, but of the actual Alpha's stories. Not only does Caleb and Jacob's family continue to expand and grow up, but we get to meet new, intriguing (sometimes infuriating but always interesting) characters.

I absolutely loved this new book of the The Alphas’ Homestead. If you enjoyed the three previous ones, you won’t be disppointed at all.

Alex is one of my favorites writers because her writing is beautiful and she's wonderful showing how the characters feel at any moment. You totally get into the story and it's like you are there with them which just blows my mind all the time.

Without a doubt one of my top favorite series. There’s only two books to go, and I will cry big crocodile tears when it’s over. Caleb and a Jacob are still together and going strong. One thing about their relationship is it just feels so real. The love they share is strong and true; though that doesn’t mean they are perfect. This book continues the story of Caleb and Jacob and their family. Their pups have continued to grow up and although the storyline involves all of them and what they are going through as they become adults it focuses in particular on Martha.
Martha's storyline isn't just about her blossoming romance but also on her changing relationships with her fathers particularly Caleb.

An absolute joy as always! Alex Jane did it again, bringing us back to the homestead where the alphas and their pups life evolves steadily. The character buildup is amazing, the evolution of the story as it carries us among their lives through challenges is simply exquisite and a delight to read. If you want something to make your heart feel warmer than read these stories, get to know this wonderful family and try to become one of them because you’ll find “Home in your Heart” !

A worthy addition to the series. While this is ostensibly Martha's story, it is still firmly m/m and centers around Jacob and Caleb's relationship and how they (read: Caleb) deal with their growing (and growing-up) family.
