Rocker Colton Nix would do just about anything to rid himself of the unflattering nickname his womanizing ways have earned him in the tabloids—anything except settle down with a woman, of course. If his parents taught him anything, it’s that love is as fleeting as celebrity. But after a few too many drinks on a private island in the Carib

I do get panties thrown at me onstage, which is less sexy than you’d imagine… Well, some of them are hot, but some of them are dirty… and not in a good way.

The most shameful “walk of shame” she’d ever made. The only time she’d ever had to make the walk of shame. Except she hadn’t even gotten laid. She’d gotten married.

My Review:

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed this steamy and engaging tale much more than I expected, as I don’t often read rocker-star romances. The premise wa

Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, Unwritten, I was very excited to read about Kate's assistant Jenn. While Jenn was really only a secondary character in the first book, she very much deserved her own story since it was easy to see that she wanted more from her life than simply being an assistant. And boy did she ever break out of her mold! After an evening of drinking, Jenn found herself married to rocker, Colton Nix. Cole was never what Jenn would have picked as husband m ...more

After the unmitigated success for me of the first book in this series, I felt sure that there was no way for the author to top that read, but she did! I absolutely loved this book!

You know I liked the characters but it seemed that I was never won over..the "contract" was constantly brought up just as they were getting closer without really discussing what the contract meant. I hated the icky running away part so this is for review purposes barely a four star.

What I did like was the industry an artist takes song writing through to recording and performing. I hate tabloid and blog and how it really hurts these artists. I hated how LasVegas shooting happened and

Much like the first book, I loved this one a lot.

This time we have Jenn and Colton. She’s still working for Kate, but she has bigger dreams than that, ones she’s reluctant to share.

After a drunken wedding with Colton, they agree to stay married for a few months. It’s in that period that they actually get to know each other and see the other under a different light. I loved this time between these two. I just loved the slow build, even when they were hot for each other.

I honestly loved this story

A fun, sexy, and vastly entertaining marriage of a drunken accident turned into a marriage of convenience with a rock star story with fresh and clever emotional plot twists.
The way Rachel Lacey writes the stories easily hooks my mind, and I am keen to get to know the sharp and strong characters she creates and cheer for them, wanting them to find their way to the HEA. The stories are more character driven than focused on their surroundings and lifestyle, though there are enough bling, parting,

Received an ARC for an honest review.

I loved this...I loved it so much. Cole and Jenn meet when he's shooting a music video with her boss and the sparks start flying. A few martinis later, and they end up married. It happens. Anyway, when the press gets a hold of the info, they decide to stay married for six months so that Cole can get some good publicity and Jenn can try to break her way into the song-writing business. As much as they try to keep this marriage in name only, their chemistry is t

A superb, fantastic read! I read it in one go! I loved to read what love can do to a woman who’s into planning everything, only to realize that sometimes life intervenes to discover that love can’t be planned. To the greatest cynic regarding marriage, our hero has come to realize that with true love, marriage is his new way of life….

Encore(Rock Star Duet, book 2) by Rachel Lacey

Wowzer! Rachel Lacey really knows how to write a story. She really does know how to captivate her readers from page one all the way til the end. Rachel writes with heart and soul. She truly knows her stuff. She never ceases to amaze me.

In Encore we get Jennifer MacDonald and Colton Nix's story. Jenn is Katherine Hayes assistant and Cole is a rockstar. Jenn and Cole meet and have a few martini's and end up married. They decide staying married will ben

I received a free ARC of this book and here is my review. I loved the first book in the series and was so excited to be able to get a chance to read this one.

This is the story of Rocker Colton Nix who would do almost anything to get rid of his nickname that he earned from his womanizing ways. He would do almost anything except settle down in a relationship. His past has taught him that love doesn't always last. After a night of fun on an island and too much to drink he he wakes up with a weddin

Always in the background and never one to want attention, Jenn perfected her job as Kate's assistant. Years ago she left her comfortable family unit to pursue her dreams of songwriting. Landing a job as the assistant to one of Rock's biggest acts, gave her an in. But she never let Kate know her true dreams as she didn't want to be seen as a "user". Colton Nix embraced the rock lifestyle - alcohol, hot women & sex - until it bit him where it hurt the most, his pride. He was the king of one night stands until one of the women that wanted more crucified him in the gossip rags by spreading false rumors. While in the Caribbean shooting a music video with the hot pop star he released the song with, he had too much to drink & accidentally married her assistant.

Today is the “Encore” of their lives – a second chance to make a first impression for a lasting future.

Center stage, lights, music and tours bring star singer Colton Nix and celebrity assistant Jenn McDonald together under a starry night of drinks, conversation to a morning reality of hangovers and matrimony. As much as they are attracted to each other, Nix and Jenn have their own lives planned out, but then isn’t it life’s prerogative to rock and roll one’s plans?

Electrifying chemistry! Great follow up to the first book in the duet! We met Jenn in that first book as Kate's assistant and now she's getting her own story with a bad boy rocker. The storyline caught my attention quickly, and the friendly turned sexy chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. I really enjoyed getting to play a little catch up with Kate and Josh from the first book too. A really great series!

Encore is book two in the Rock Star Duet and it delivers the story of Kate's assistant Jenn and rock star Colton. This book is definitely a case of unexpected love - well really unexpected everything.

These two couldn't be further apart and yet when they find themselves married - it's almost like they couldn't be more right for each other. Colton is trying to get back into good graces after the media shed some awkward attention his way - he's decided to give up groupies and become reformed - but

I absolutely loved Encore. It was romantic, sexy, and gave a great glimpse into the life of a rockstar. I thought the detail provided about the music video shoots, performances, Jenn's duties as an assistant, etc. was all really interesting and had me wondering how much research Rachel Lacey did. It felt like it built on what I already know about the industry, so I really enjoyed that aspect of this. Jenn and Cole have seriously got to be one of my favorite couples, and even better that it’s a book by Rachel Lacey!

This story had so many amazing aspects about it that just drew me in and didn’t let me up for air until the very end! As you already know by the other reviews, Jenn and Cole wake up married one morning after a night of drinks. They decide to stay married for 6 months, knowing how it could benefit the both of them, but not really realizing their HEA was possibly in their future.

Abstinence can be so enticing AND frustrating lol.
Jenn and Cole were on different sides of the camera, both knew the business tho and they just clicked. Being open, they shared a lot of themselves with each other. That was so Refreshing!
I laughed, sighed, teared up, you know, all the feels.
Jenn really was a bad-ass, with a quiet strength & pragmatic attitude. Cole, of course, was smokin. My heart melted at the awe & respect he had for Jenn.
An excellent storyline touching on

Encore, Rachel Lacey’s latest, took me by surprise, there were some emotional twists I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed the first in the series, so I was primed to like the second. Encore covers some of the same ground that Unwritten did, in terms of PTSD issues, but it does it so much differently. Lacey brings some real life situations into the narrative that make the entire story so much more powerful. Jenn and Cole are the perfect marriage of convenience (drunken mistake) story. This book is just as fantastic as the first one in this duet, Unwritten.

Cole and Jenn "accidently" get married and then decide to stay together for six months in order to improve Cole's reputation and Jenn's wish to become a song writer. As they pretend to be married their feelings grow and their chemistry explodes but both have pretty clear goals about their futures and they don't include each other.

Fake relationships are my favorite! I love when two people are so busy pretending to love each

After reading the first chapter at the end of Unwritten I couldn’t wait to read this book. It didn’t disappoint on but. Colt has lived the rocker life and when some bad press accompanied by a nickname just wont go away. Jen is Kate’s assistant and they hit it off right away. After a night of to much drinking the got married.
Colt opens up a side of Jen she didn’t know she was missing. Colt has never known real love.
This book will have you smiling and laughing as they get to know each other. L

Cole doesn't mind sharing those intimate details about himself, “that I haven’t had *** in da*n close to a year?” His voice dropped to something close to a growl. “Eff, yes, that’s what I’m saying.” Seriously Cole has no boundaries, “nope. All good there, although I must admit it was a little weird to jerk off while my wife slept downstairs.” Cole is like a caveman at times, “because I get to take you out tonight, show you off, and then bring you home to my bed.” I loved this book, and I actuall ...more

This story had a great start, good looking rockstar, one drunken night with a beautiful girl. There was a reason why they had to stay together, it would be beneficial for both parties. But really I didn’t feel the chemistry. There were chapters and chapters of chatter that didn’t move the story forward. What I did like was the last two chapters. When he almost lost Jenn. Cole had to give us a big happy ending that didn’t disappoint. Not sure I can recommend a book just because the ending was goo ...more

I was excited to read this book after having read Unwritten, the first book in this duet series. This one focuses on Kate's assistant Jenn. I liked Jenn in Unwritten and hoped she would get her own story. At first they chose to stay married for different reasons but it didn't take long before they fell in love. ...more

The plot has been done before but in this case it was executed fairly well. Jenn and Cole were both likeable and interesting enough. Jenn was a tad annoying with her fixation on finding the perfect husband and wanting a fairy tale. But then again Cole was also a typical hero - suffering from commitment phobia because of his upbringing.

I probably wasn't as connected to it as I wanted to be; but, the writing style and decent character growth made for an enjoyable read.
