Mike Venezia has turned his short biographies into an entire cottage industry, churning them out like non-fiction lace doilies or biographical jars of jam.
The text is extremely good, very informative, and a good introduction to the subject. My only quibble is his cartoons. His format is that each volume has a cartoon on the cover, and often it's just not funny. Worse, it is then repeated on the inside, slightly modified and with a different punchline...and it's still not funny. This volume has " ...more

Like the last 'Gettin to know' book that I read of Venezia's (Picasso), I was equally impressed with the factual information, mixed with illustrations and historical photos/paintings in a concise form for children and up. I can't wait to have kids so that I can gift them with these books. Until then, there are the nieces and nephews. :)

This was a good book over all. To me it probably would be better if it was horror or mystery, but if you were looking for a good resource for a project I would definitely recommend this to you. It probably could've had more info about the pitchblend and where it came from but other than that I would say that it was a good book.

It was a good book overall. I gave it 4 stars because it could have better info about were Marie Curie got the pitchblend. The book tossed in a few jokes that were funny. Definitely I would recommend this to a little kid that wants to learn about Marie Curie. She was a very smart woman. I think this book would inspire young girls to go out and discover all sort of stuff, I would read more by this author she is a good one.

It's a good book if you want to find out where X-ray machine were first made.
