The author asked if I could review this book. I have only accepted one review-copy book before , from another author's request. And since then I have decided to never review another book from random requests from authors.
But this one was only 12 pages so I decided to accept this request.
The book was not a satisfying read.
The plot just doesn't seem to be well thought out , but again I won't blame the author since it was stated that this story was written for a contest with time constraints.

This 12 page long book is a mix of suspense, romance and horror all mixed together. The author has tried to put in all the elements and tried to narrate a story. When i was approached for a review, I was intrigued by the fact that whether it can be interesting enough. While it did hold my interest, the story ended abruptly and I was a tad disappointed. This might be because the story was restricted by its length. Cannot comment on the characters as there was only so much matter in the book. This ...more

The Accident is a story about an accident which changed the life of two people. In the eyes of the law, the accident happened by the ignorance of the driver and killed a person along with the lady driving the car.

The Accident is a short story of twelve pages. It is a short thriller which ends on a cliffhanger and leaves you wanting more. I love the plot of the story, it is brilliant. The story completes a full circle and ends where it starts. It is a story of four individuals collided by fate.

I know Shree ever since I read her detailed, wonderful review of one of the most well-written books I've read—Letters from an Indian Summer. From that moment, I had wanted to send her my book when it came out. I did, and I am really happy that she liked my writing style, although she found the story too predictable for her liking.

Anyway, after reviewing my book, she informed me about a short story that she had written and submitted to a short story contest organized by Amazon KDP, quite similar

Expect the unexpected.

A short story about the supernatural world, a theme that has not been explored much and can get tricky. The story is simple, that includes the plot as well as the writing style. It kept me engaged, even though the story line was the usual one. There's a little problem with the transition but that can be ignored. The plot twist is definitely unexpected and left me in splits. Overall an entertaining read.

This is the first time I accidentally read a paranormal fiction at night!! Okay, you can call me a faint-hearted person but I did have a tough time going to sleep, I kept seeing the book cover and the road and the people the author had described on the road. And I am firm that my choice of reading such books during the daytime is right.
A few typos did pull me out of the book but nothing major and the story holds the reader. The ending is such a twist that I had to read it again to be sur

The Accident by Shree Janani is a 12 Page short read. The story starts off as a crisis story of a middle age businessman mourning a death. As the story progresses you see a different dimension to the story and the shift in genre. The pace was fast and it won't let you feel lagged. The writing is crisp and to the point.

Having said that, I felt the story was too short. I would love to see more of it. The author can very well take this as a prelude to expanding the story. Although the characters a

The Accident by Shree Janani - An Induced Thriller @shreejanani

There are many aspects to The Accident by Shree Janani. It is just a 12-page story. Without undermining the capabilities of writing skills of the author, the story is short and abrupt. Obviously, in 12 pages it is the best you could produce. It has love, intensity, suspense, thrill, shock, grief, and paranormal. Definitely, there is an element of curiosity that remains with you while passing th

Ah! such a twisted ending... The story started off with the difficulties of a middle-aged man and later moved to a middle-aged woman. I was expecting it to be a Cliched love story which we see in Tamil Cinema but-but it was so different.
It was all connected throughout the end. A very well written short-story and I personally see a lot of scope for expanding it to a novel. Hoping to read that if it gets published. Please do read this book and I'm pretty sure you will be dumbfounded when you fini

I picked this book up thinking it will be a quick read. I had never expected it to be so engrossing. I was lost in the pages and hated it when the story ended. I really wish the author makes a full fledged novel out of this story line. In a few words, the author has managed pathos a fear beautifully. Kudos!

Oh My, What a punch in a story of 12 pages. A billionaire business man who has lost his wife in an accident meets Anusha, the wife of the man who causes the accident and all of a sudden there's an ending that was totally unexpected with a supernatural twist. Superb writing because of which I was left with wanting more.Being a reader who wants all her i's dotted and t's crossed, I am left with blinders and made to ask myself WHY?!?? A thrilling one-shot read!

'The Accident' by Shree Janani is a thrilling story that can keep you at the edge of your seats till the end. The anticipation of what would happen next and the suspense around the accident are maintained well throughout. I liked the way the author had narrated the story, with oodles of emotion and mystery spread evenly.

I expected a different ending, where the pair would end up together and adopt the child. But it was an unexpected twist! I loved it.

I needed more

I learned about this book on Goodreads and read it using Kindle Unlimited. The Accident is a very short story about a serendipitous meeting between the spouses of a pair of accident victims. The writing is fine, but I felt like the beginning of the story was missing. Including the moments before the accident and the event itself would have made the story better.

I am not someone who reads short stories often, though I’ll give one a chance once in a blue moon or pick up an anthology if I know the author’s work. I’m happy that I did give this one a try because it was gripping and well-written.

I suspected ‘foul play’ straight away, had this niggling, nagging feeling at the back of my mind while reading – and I was right, but only to some extent. The ending still took me by surprise, and left me yearning for more. There are all sorts of open possibilities a

Honestly, when I was approached by someone to do an honest review of a 12 page long book, I was intrigued. A story, that too a thriller (my favorite genre), only 12 pages long? How was it possible? That question made me read it. As this review book was for an honest review I would like to say that I was disappointed in it. I can understand that you can't actually show a plot /character development in it but mixing up thriller with horror just at the last second was not the right choice. Sure, th ...more

The story has an open ending, which leaves you wanting for more. It starts off as a normal story, with a widower attending a wedding, he ends up reminiscing his marriage. A chance encounter with a lady, the moment they understand the connection between them. Then comes the totally unexpected Climax, I had to go back to read the last pages, to make sure that this was all.A short thrilling read, I enjoyed it

Short, fast-paced and a bit of paranormal suspense. It was an excellent read and it has left me with more questions. It would be fun to read this as a longer novella.

I always love it when fellow bibliophiles that I met online write a book or a story and approach me to review it. So when Shree Janani contacted me about her short story, The Accident, I was glad to hear about it because: 1) I love supporting my online bibliophile buddies and 2) the story is 12 pages short (or long). I and no idea what to expect from the story, but what I got left me fe

Once in a while, one comes across a story which blows you away literally. It makes you feel wanting for more and also perplexed. The Accident by Shree Janani is one such story. I had to read it twice, especially the last page to be sure that I read it right. Mind-blowing, hats off to the author for such an awesome, supernatural story. Totally loved it.

A good short read. Got this on Kindle Unlimited.
The book is very short. So the character building is adequate for a book of this length. The main plot involves a mix of suspense and horror. Some loose ends could have been tied up in the book.
The initial part has way too much description. The ending is sort of abrupt but the main plot line is good.
But all in all, a nice short read.

The Accident (Review Copy)
A very short read (just 12 pages), which falls into thriller and supernatural genre. A very tricky combination to experiment with, and unluckily, it didn’t go well. Although the writer managed to keep the curiosity level up to some extent, the story didn’t feel complete. The abrupt ending and an improper story structure are its drawbacks.
Let’s hope for a more polished and refined future works from the author.
